I love a good croffle, and I wanted to try this for dessert after eating some Pho at Pho 21. We got the banana and ube. The ube was a bit underwhelming. I didn't really taste the ube flavor, and it was topped with marshmallows. The banana was delicious, and I definitely want more. Overall, the croffles are made to order and are very fresh. Not too chewy and delicious every bite. The service was okay. I got my order quickly, which was good, but I noticed the next customer had to wait a few minutes. HEALTH HAZARD! I recently stopped by Cool Tea Bar to grab a boba after eating at Pho 21. After ordering, I asked to use the restroom and when I went back there, the hallway and bathroom itself were flooded. They didn't seem too bothered by it so that was enough for me to cancel my order and leave. If they let the bathroom get to that state, it makes me concerned about the cleanliness of their kitchen and equipment. Plus, where do the employees go to the bathroom and wash their hands? We popped into this little tea spot for a post Halloween sweet treat after being out and about all day. I was curious as to what a croffle was after seeing their advertisement on the window. They were several unique flavors on the menu, along with a huge variety of teas. We decided on the matcha croffle. So delicious! It's exactly as you would imagine a cross between a waffle and a crossiant would be. Crispy on the outside, flaky, soft and warm on the inside. Topped off with a fluffy cloud of cream and red bean, it was a scrumptious combination. We also tried a couple of their milk teas, the lychee flavor and the matcha, very good, perfectly sweet and the boba was chewy and soft. The regular size held a good quantity of tea, if I was thirstier I could see myself upgrading to a large. It's a small little shop, best for pickup but there are one or two tables if you're in need of a quick croffle fix. Service was very friendly and quick. This review is loooong overdue! We booked Cool Tea Bar for our wedding in 2022 and it was one of the best decisions. Colin helped me set up everything for the catering event and he brought a buddy on the day of the wedding to help us. I couldn't believe how polite and professional Colin was and he was just in high school at the time. We wanted to use our own boba cups but completely forgot to bring them to Fremont where our venue was, Colin and his buddy offered to drive all the way back to San Jose to get us their cups. They even stayed past their time to help us with the long lines because everyone wanted boba. They didn't even charge us extra. The whole day was a blur and by the end of the night, I was disappointed I couldn't catch Colin and his friend anywhere to personally thank and tip them for being there. Post-wedding, I came back to CTB to look for Colin but was told he left for college. Colin, if you ever read this review, we appreciate you!! I highly recommend CTB for your next event. Returning to cool tea bar was so nostalgic for me since I used to frequently purchase it from club fundraisers. I always opt for the roasted milk tea here or the mango green tea. The large here is also pretty big. The drinks tasted exactly like how I remembered it back in high school. It has been years since I last visited Cool Tea Bar, but it was just as I remembered it from the high school fundraisers we used to host with them. The prices are still very affordable - only $5 for a regular size (it is HUGE) which would cost much more elsewhere nowadays. I ordered the mango, lychee, and passionfruit green tea, and out of the three, I personally enjoyed the passionfruit the most. While the flavors weren't anything too crazy or unique (tasted more like juice than traditional tea), they were still refreshing and enjoyable to drink. They still have their large cups for only a couple cents more but I've been sticking with the regular cups. Even with the least amount of sweetness, the drink is just sweet enough for me. It can take awhile for drinks to be made as there's only 1-2 employees working every-time we go but the wait is not terribly long. Rating - 3.5 Stars Jasmine Milk Tea and Roasted Milk Tea were both very milky with a very subtle tea taste. Both were also 50% sweet, which was actually fine and not super sweet or anything, but I could probably get 30% next time. I remember the Roasted Milk Tea having a much stronger roasted flavor back in the days so this was a slight letdown, but their grass jelly was way better than I remember. Honestly the silkiest grass jelly I've had from a boba spot. Boba on the other hand was very standard in terms of sweetness and texture. With so many new boba shops popping up, it's kinda sad to see all these old go-to spots on the decline, but one thing CTB has over the rest is VALUE. Their Large is 32oz for around $5. Our drinks came out completely bland and flavorless, mostly tasting like milk. I asked the worker to remake the drinks, and he said he couldn't but told me that I could order two NEW drinks. I've ordered this drink many many times, and this is the first time it came out tasting wrong. Maybe it's asking too much but idk why the drinks couldn't be corrected on the spot. And to make it even worse, as we walked out, the worker chimes in with "maybe next time you can try to order it extra sweet." I can't even fault the kid for that, as I think he was trying to be helpful (he didn't have any malicious intent), but it just came out wrong. I absolutely LOVE this tea bar! I highly recommend this place for any boba lover and jasmine milk tea (order #3)! Shoutout to the guy always in a blue Cool Tea shirt! He has great customer service and has always made my drinks as expected! The only thing that i find an issue is how it is understaffed. Theres been times when i go in for my weekly boba and i only see the guy with the blue shirt working. I cant imagine how stressful it must be to take orders and make drinks without anyone's help, especially when more people start to gather. There should be at least 3 people working every shift bc 1 person can not do it all. Besides that, this would not only be a great spot for boba but also a great and stress free place for the employees. Ps. My favorite thing about CTB is that the large is only $5. It's $0.50 more than the old location, but good compared to other places nowadays. Most of their things are good, but their pudding is... yikes. I'd say to avoid the pudding. I like their Jasmine Milk Tea but I'd say that their regular milk tea is better. Their milk teas have more creamer than other places, so expect to taste less tea and milk and more cream. Overall, not a bad place for tea but there's definitely better out there. read more
