I LOVE this place. I discovered it last year and was immediately obsessed with it. On their facebook they've mentioned that they are closing in January so I made the 2 hour trip out here. If you're thinking of trying, definitely go! The people are so nice and accommodating. The food along with the drinks are delicious and the vibes are great!!

Bambu is one of my favorite places to go for Vietnamese dessert drinks. The drinks are filled with fruit, puddings, Jellies, or Boba. Everything is fresh, including the coconut Che, which is refreshing and delicious on top of a drink. You can also have basil seeds or mung Beans added if you like. The menu has drink selections, so you don't have to create your drink. Service was fast enough as they made my drink to order. It is a busy place, but there is seating with a relaxed, chill ambiance. I recommend that you try the strawberry smoothie or Bambu favorite; enjoy!

My stepdaughter recommended me this place to get avocado smoothies because she said they make the best. I trusted her, so we went there, and I ordered exactly what she suggested. Amazing! The smoothie came out perfect! The service was okay, but I expected it to be more upbeat because the place attracts youngsters, and they have lots of energy, ha! We also ordered something to go, a summer roll and Banh Mi. I loved my summer roll and avocado smoothie!

I've been coming to Bambu regularly for the past 1.5 years and to this day, Bambu is still one of my top food spots in the area. Bambu serves bubble tea, desserts, Vietnamese food (rice bowls, vermicelli bowls, banh mi). Their food always hits the spot. The portions are generous and delicious. My go-to foods are Chicken Banh Mi with Jalapeños and Grilled Pork Rice Bowl. I haven't too many of their drinks but the few times I've tried their Vietnamese coffee, it was delicious. They have tofu options for their bowls and sandwiches for anyone who is vegetarian. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Very happy with this place. We need more great spots like this on LI! Their quality makes sense since they're originally from San Jose CA. They also have successful spots in the city. VIET ICED COFFEE Strong Vietnamese iced coffee, its signature fragrance and bitterness come through. Stronger than I'm used to but still very much enjoy it. Boba were squishy and very easy to chew, typical quality of bubble tea shops TARO MILK TEA Strong taste of taro! You can actually taste it and the sugar/milk do not overpower its flavor. One of the much better done taro milk teas I've had. CHICKEN AND PORK BANH MI Crunchy, freshly toasted bread with an airy, easily torn quality that give way to a nice bite of the sandwich which is a textural improvement from more traditional Banh mi where it's hard to rip off a bite. Radish, carrot and cilantro are present, but not as in dense quantities to traditional Banh mi to make room for the meat. Overall the sandwiches are not as densely packed as normal Banh mi but that's not due to a lack of meat but more thoughtfully proportioned level of veggies. I liked the chicken more than the pork which was a bit drier but had a really nice sweet and mouthwatering bbq flavor to it. The chicken was nice and hearty, tender and crispy. PORK SPRING ROLLS Meaty, with a Thai chili dipping sauce and not the typical fish sauce from viet places. Skin is the thin crispy kind and not the thicker one that has a more bready quality. Enjoyed these - meaty, salty, little bit of carrot and mushroom. How can you go wrong? Will def come back, this is the best spot to eat in its plaza. Please stick around - we need great Asian eats like you guys! Desperately going to try your che next

If you are in the mood for some boba and are in the area you definitely should stop by this place. The boba here is very good -chewy and sweet. You can taste the tea flavor heavily if you order the milk tea here which I like a lot. I would come back for the boba here!

I really enjoyed this place pre-pandemic, but recently the quality and customer service has gotten worse. I still kept going because it's one of the few places to get decent banhmi and bubble yea. My brother recently got a banhmi and a bandaid rolled out of the sandwich. He thought it was chicken and was about to put it back on and realized it was way too soft. This is disgusting.

Dessert drink, banh mis, and fries? What's not to like?! Things you should order: Classic banh mi- I'm usually not a classic banh mi kind of person but my husband really enjoyed it. Chicken banh mi- I was actually expecting a lemon grass chicken but it was more of a fried chicken sandwich with spicy mayo. It was actually quite tasty with that crispy chicken crunch. While everything was great, i just wished the cucumber was cut a bit smaller and thinner. I got a huge wedge in my sandwich. #6 Fruit Addict- this was really good. It had so many toppings in it that I wasn't sure what I was eating. Definitely get this after your meal. Viet iced coffee- yums, can't mess this up Banh mi fries- The fries were so crispy. Loved the double fried texture. Daikons and carrots were placed on the side but some of the fries were soggy because they were touching it. Verdict? Everything was delicious. Banh mis were big enough to share and still be full. We saved the other half for dinner and placed it in the toaster oven, still so good!

A good place to get authentic Vietnamese Che. I got the coconut combo. While it was good the flavors weren't very strong. After a while it started to taste watered down. It felt like I drank most of it pretty quick. I paid $8 for this which I thought was kind of pricey. Still, I enjoyed very much and would go back. I don't think it's better than the more popular boba tea. It's a nice alternative though.

Bambu is my favorite place for food and drinks . I drive over 30 minutes to get their coffee and food ! All staff are nice and attentive always accommodating my picky / specific orders. However my favorite staff is David . He makes the best drinks especially the Vietnamese coffee.He has a great sense of humor ..5 stars for the food/drinks and 5 stars for their service ! read more

I've been here a handful of times. Ordering various things: banh mi sandwich, smoothies, deserts drinks, and fruit drinks. All of which tastes great. I like the modern atmosphere and the coffee lounge style seating. Customer service is always great. They may miss a few detail about your special ordered drink such as no ice, little ice, less sugar, or extra bubble. So double and triple check. read more

I LOVE Bambu, honestly the greatest bubble tea in town. Nothing can compare. The young man who works at the cashier is very welcoming and much better than the previous cashier. There Bahn mi is phenomenal. I could honestly eat there sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Tip though if you're running on time I would recommend calling ahead as it takes about 15-20 minutes. 4 stars though because I went there once and ordered chicken wings and French fries and it took about 1 hr and 20 minutes for it to come out. I asked the young man behind the counter to check on my food and the manager comes out and gets super angry and yells "everyone just has to wait okay!!!" I was chill about the wait time just honestly wanted to know if it was almost done. read more

This is another legit spot for bubble tea. Their banh mi's and their banh mi fries are too die for. Just their fries in general are great, especially with a large iced taro bubble tea. The staff is really friendly, their service is quick . I sometimes stay there and hang at a table with a friend instead of walking out the door. Don't forget you can also call in your orders which is clutch; sometimes you'll walk in close to closing and you'll find yourself standing on a line. read more

Just moved back home from San Jose, CA and one thing I was super sad to leave was all the Vietnamese desserts! So excited this is so close, and just as good as all the Bambu shops in CA. My favorite is the Fruit Addict without ice. Great Vietnamese coffee if you need a serious buzz. Nice place to study; quiet, free WiFi, clean bathrooms and comfy chairs. Will be back for more snacks! read more

Great place. Good customer experience. So many choices!! While in my way out East on a warm Sunday afternoon we decided to find a Bubble Tea shop. After checking Yelp for some local areas we decided to give Bambu a chance. Score! I had the Milk Bubble tea. Made just right. Not too sweet and just enough "bubbles". Now I've been to a few places including Flushing and this place did not disappoint. I would definitely revisit and try some of the other options including the food choices which looked really delish. read more

I love bubble tea and have been looking for somewhere to go for one. The bubble tea is good here. I had the fries just once and they were just average. I've been here a handful of times but it never seems to be busy when I go. I would say this is an average 3 star joint - nothing extraordinary. I can see why people aren't fans of the service here, but it is what it is. read more

This place is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area! They have a variety of different drinks like chè and bubble tea. They also have banh mi sandwiches and fries. I really recommend their chè since it's a very refreshing drink and has a ton of different toppings in it. I tried the Awesome Trio and Summer Delight and they were both quite refreshing and the different toppings make the drink very unique. This place is quite big and the staff is very friendly! I think that this place is definitely a must try because of their chè and because the staff is so attentive and patient when you're deciding what to order!! read more

I've had many of their bubble teas and they're always so fantastic and consistent- i love the jellies that you can put in the bottom, so many flavor choices. I will say though that they are sweet so ask for medium sweetness and you'll be just fine! I also love how there are music videos playing while you're waiting for your drink on a big screen.. I've actually sat there sipping on my drink just to continue watching the music videos. Place is clean, people are nice, drinks are great! read more

I had the Vietnamese coffee. Problem with it, is that you need to use robust coffee because the bitterness of the coffee compliments the condensed milk. They use arabica coffee which by itself is better coffee but does no pair well with the condensed milk. Way too sweet. My wife likes their bubble teas but did not like their trio dessert. Their Vietnamese sandwich was pretty good. read more

Love Love Love this place. So far I have tried Bambu Special, Summer Delight, Smashed Avocado, Fruit Addict, Longan Sunrise, Bambu Favorite, Coconut Combo, and Lychee Jello. LOVE THEM ALL!!! My goal is to try everything on their menu. It is a little bit pricey though. I wish they are at least $1 cheaper per drink so then I can come everyday~ I haven't tried any of their food yet but they are definitely on my list. So glad this place is close to my house :) read more

I've been coming here for years and have always loved this place. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed tonight after ordering their shrimp rice bowls. Usually they are out of this world but it seems they changed the way they do the shrimp and gave much less than in the past. We miss the old way! read more

Pretty good milk tea for being out here in the boonies of Stony Brook. Service is great - cashiers were warm, friendly, with big smiles. The decor/atmosphere is perfect for a little mini-group hangout of friends (5-6 people on a boba run). Well, lit and bright. Reminds me of milk tea shops in Cali. read more

I am not a big fan of bubble tea or smoothies or any drinks with texture or things in it. I actually only drink water - no soda or juices or anything. BUT! This place has me hooked. My favorite is the #1 Bambu special. I love the fresh coconut, longan and basil seeds. It's sweet but not too overbearing since I'm not a big sugar lover either. The restaurant is very clean, beautiful and fun. TVs and music and everyone is super nice and helpful. I try to come here every time I'm at the mall. I hope they branch out and make more of these on Long Island or serve more food on the menu. read more

I was on vacation and was pleasantly surprised to see a tea store. They didn't have what I wanted but I'm from California but they had something similar and it was delicious! The lady that helped us (Owner?) was super nice and very helpful. Bambu was clean, very helpful, and the selection was great. I don't know when I'll visit Stony Brook area which I loved but I want to wish this company the very best. read more

Yikes. If you know anything about what an authentic banh mi should taste like, then please don't order one here. My boyfriend and I got two rib eye banh mi and it was more like two carrot sandwiches with meat that was no different than sloppy joe beef without sauce. If I wanted a burger then I'd rather go to shake shack. The only thing they served up to me was disrespect to my heritage, man. That being said, their saving grace is their drinks. Their chè is pretty good, with the 3 mau che tasting straight from your mom's home kitchen. Maybe the food is good if your palette is more americanized - their bun thit nuong (or vermicelli nooodles) aren't served normally with nuoc mam, which is real weird to me... they also seem unfamiliar with the concept of 7 mon bun thit nuong with all meats and springrolls, where with vermicelli bowls you can only choose one meat. I dunno. I've been to Asian markets who prepare a banh mi in a tenth of the time they took, and I just can't get over how bad it was. read more

The coconut milk tea is SOOOO good!! Tastes like Vietnamese dessert. And the BBQ pork banh mi was HUGE!! The pork was so flavorful and pickled vegetables was authentic. I love that they aren't stingey with the fillings. PERFECT MEAL, my new favorite place!!! Already want to go back read more

While I struggled to speak, he stood in the back and stared at me the entire time, watching me with absolutely no empathy as I was visibly anxious and uncomfortable. It felt like I was being put on display--like a problem they didn't want to deal with. I ended up typing my order because I was so embarrassed and anxious. Let me be clear: my stutter is not the issue--your staff's reaction to it is. The lack of patience, the complete disregard for basic human decency, and the way I was made to feel less-than--it was ableist, plain and simple. I never thought I'd have to say this about a place I used to genuinely enjoy, but I left feeling ashamed and angry. If there's new ownership, it definitely shows--and not in a good way. This place has incredible food and drinks. The stars are for the quality. This is especially for their Korean shaved ice desert. However, there's a big problem with service and/or training. I've gone back twice in the past two weeks to get the amazing Bingsu I had in Oct. The first time the new employee told me he didn't know how to make the desert because the person wasn't there who could make it. I went back again tonight to see if they would make it, and I got another new employee who not only said he did not know how to make it, and said the guy wasn't there who could make it, and then changed the whole thing and said it was seasonal... He also looked like a deer in headlights when I asked him what Bahn ni was (A main staple on the menu) and had no idea how to explain literally anything on the menu. If he is in the front by himself and working he should have at least study the menu and know how to explain what a Vietnamese sandwiches. He didn't even know what the three sauces were that he gave us to put on our food. This was not due to language barrier at all. This was because he had not taken the time to study the menu and or was not properly trained to know what he was talking about. It was pretty pathetic and I was extremely disappointed that once again I couldn't get the desert that I had waited many days to come yet (especially because it's a specialty and you can only get it in Queens). Management, please take the time to properly train your employees before you put them at the front, because the service has been pretty pathetic. read more

Great place for eating with friends as the store is very spacious. There are a lot of seats and when I went there wasn't that many people. Love how their menu has the pictures up on the screen, makes it easier to order. I tried their che and it was great, a bit too thick probably because it had so many toppings.
