Ralphs is the most amazing place on planet earth. I go there at least once a week- possibly more. If you have never had Ralphs, you have never lived. Their Java Chip Creme ice is life changing. Seriously, I have never been the same since having that ice: Colors are brighter, food tastes better, when I wake up I jump out of bed excited just knowing that the Java Chip ice exists. I am writing a review about my experience here from four years ago, which for some reason I never saved and got it out there. I am submitting it now anyway because I just got through a work training seminar on customer service and every time I think about poor customer service, I think about the experience I had my last time At Ralph's. It was the epitome of the world's rudest customer service and just how much a bad experience can make a place unforgettable for all the wrong reasons and somewhere you never want to return. Growing up I really loved the icees here, this was my local ice joint so of course I went every summer plus a handful of times through the year. So at the start of one summer, I came in wanting to try something new. I asked for a couple of samples and upon asking for my third sample, this rude snotty kid said: "do you plan on buying something or are you just gonna sample everything???" I remember how rude, embarrassing, and obnoxiously funny this was. I waited a second for that to fully process and the cashier was being totally serious. My response then was WOWWWWWWWWWW. Ummmmm.... I been eating ices here for more years than you've been on earth, but I'm happy to go somewhere else. And I never returned to Ralph's. For the rest of the summer and all my of time in NY, I went to Rita's. That day btw, Rita's let me try 3 samples, and even told me I was welcome to try as many as I wanted to find what I like. I say Stony Ralph's is better than any other because they have EVERY flavor (some city Ralph's fail to carry. ie.. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the dirty, sticky flloor and countertop at the customer window. They need to hose down the floor once in awhile and wipe down the countertop. read more

There is no real place to sit and hang out but that's okay. You can just stand around and eat your ice or take it in the car with you to wherever you are headed. I love taking my grandson here to grab a nice water ice. Staff is young kids but they all are pretty nice and respectful which I like. At the end of every year, my husband stops by and grabs a large tub of the Jelly Ring to last me thru the winter months while they are closed. Well this place is just delicious. Be warned, once you try the non-water-based ices, you can't go back to the weak sauce.
