Then, we went back near the end of our trip to get a few more! They were sold out, but there's a number to call and the baker's husband brought out a few piping hot loaves of bread. Wow!!! It's even more amazing when it's hot. I do a lot of baking and I make a lot of banana muffins, and even I'm impressed with Jeanette's skill. The bread is perfectly caramelized on the outside, the sprinkle of crushed mac nuts and sugar on top, with the moist interior is just perfect. Definitely plan a stop here while visiting the nearby coffee farms. We bought 3 loaves and it was the best decision ever. The loaves are topped with a sweet topping containing macnuts that make it unique and better than the rest. It's moist and flavorful, definitely one of the best banana breads I've had while visiting the Hawaiian islands. It's also super affordable at $4 per loaf. You pay via honor system through Venmo. When we arrived around 6:15pm, there were no more loaves in the cooler but there were a few phone numbers with a note posted on the cooler that said to please call if there were no more loaves so they can bring some up :) The owners are super kind and happily brought up some more loaves so we can purchase some. I think they said they filled the cooler with 52 loaves before they left for the day! I don't have a picture of the loaves because we ate them so quickly but just trust me when I say this is a must stop and you won't regret it! read more

Really amazing place! I went on my birthday! No one was at the stall so you can insert cash into the box. The man who lives there offered us fresh hot ones right out the oven and we said yes sure! Worth every mile! We're staying in Waikoloa and drove out just for this banana bread--so glad we did. Hands down the BEST banana bread I've ever had!!!! We bought a loaf after finding this spot going to the painted church and quickly real the next morning we did not buy enough! We then spent 2 days looking for it because we could not remember where it was. We bought 5 that day then went back again for 5 more (they were out we called the number and they brought fresh bread to us right away) to bring back to Arizona to share with friends and family. This place is THE definition of a hidden gem. It's literally on the driveway of someone's home on a windy residential road in the Captain Cook area! My friend recommended this place and said I HAVE to get more than just one loaf. My husband and I aren't one to disobey orders, so we grabbed two loaves. AND IT WAS NOT ENOUGH STILL.
