Had lunch at Bandana's Bar-B-Q on Monday afternoon around 12:30pm. It was pretty busy when we arrived but we didn't have to wait. Service: Service was excellent from the host to the waitresses. Everyone was very friendly and worked quickly. Our food came out fast and we received refills often. A+ for service. Food: The food was pretty good. I had the pulled chicken bbq salad and it was good. My only complaint would be the pulled chicken was not very warm on the salad, like it had been sitting out for a bit. My friend got the nachos which I tried and they were delicious. Atmosphere: The restaurant was nicely decorated for the holiday season. There was Christmas decor scattered throughout and a Christmas tree next to our table. It gives a nice homey feeling throughout the restaurant. DO NOT recommend this location! I ordered rib tips (short ends) online and several other items for my family. I arrived to pick up our dinner only to be told they sold out of the items I already paid for. I put my phone number in the reservation. No one called!! I stopped here for a to go order on my way back from St Louis. Ordered via Yelp with almost 3 hours for them to prepare the order. followed the sign advising me to go to bar area to pickup to go orders. There was an employee behind the bar who I asked about the to go order. She tilted her head towards a shelf and said "Grubhub and Uber Eat orders". Now I ordered using Yelp app and didn't know it was through Grubhub. She said she wouldn't know and to just look and went back to ignoring me. I saw my name and grabbed the two bags. I asked her if it was completed and she said if it was there it was complete. I got home (2.5 hours later) and not even close to completed. All the sides were missing. I called them and told what had happened. The person who answered argued that she personally packed the order and she knew it was all there. Really?!?? She told me nothing she could do. I asked for the manager and she told me she was. No apology just I must be wrong and go to Grubhub. My bad for not rechecking the order but their service just stinks. read more

Awesome BBQ! Their BBQ nacho appetizer is excellent. Filling portions, even at lunch. BBQ has authentic smoked taste to it, and there are five different BBQ sauces to choose from. Very kid friendly, wait staff is very attentive to our needs, and they always kept our drinks full. I like Bandana's a bunch. Some of the sides leave something to be desired but the baked potatoes here are the BEST in town and the sauces are good! I usually get the pork or the turkey. The ribs are good, nice smoke and bite. The 1/2 rack was 6 ribs. Baked potato was cooked well and served with the right amount of butter and sour cream. The beans are basic baked beans, add some sauce for extra flavor. Garlic bread is a nice touch however the rib meal can do without the bread. My favorite sauce was the spicy sauce. The beef platter is a 9 oz portion, with two sides the meat was tender but not juicy enough. It could have been warmer too. The potato salad was very chunky to my liking. It has a touch of mustard. Fries were not as good as I imagined. The decor reminds me of walking in to Andy's room from toy story... I kept waiting for woody to pop out. Place was calm and quite for a Saturday. They have a $5 dollar meal which from previous reviews looks like a good meal just smaller portion. Service was average... Nothing to complain or get excited about. Service was great and you could smell smoke which is key to a BBQ Restaurant. I try not to eat at any BBQ place North of Kansas City but Bandana's (a chain I believe) has changed that. While driving on I-55, decided to have barbecue for dinner and headed over to Bandana's in Bloomington. We were a bit early on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was rather quiet. We were seated immediately. My wife ordered the ribs and I had a combo platter with brisket and sausage. We both enjoyed our meals. The staff was courteous, and the prices were reasonable. This place is never as good as I remember it. It will be a while before I return and each time I forget the food isn't as good as I imagine it was. I don't know what's up with the garlic bread. It could double as a dagger. You might be able to use to stake a vampire in the heart. The pork platter was not that great. The meat had too much fat. The sweat potato fries were all right but nothing to write home about. Was not a fan of the baked beans. Our service was adequate. We had a young guy who did what I assume was his best job. I ate at Bandana's for the first time tonight. I was hungry for the ribs so I got the platter. They come dry and you can then add sauce from the four types at your table. I liked the sweet and smoky along with the original (mustard-based) the best. The ribs were tasted good and came of the bone well. For sides I had baked beans and cole slaw. Solid french fries but nothing special Cons: The ribs were close to unedible and extremely tough (they have to use some super cheap rib meat because I have never had ribs where the meat was such a low quality. disappointing because the sauce did taste very good on them).
