I've been here a couple times and the staff is always so pleasant. The two women that helped on separate occasions felt like homely mothers making sure I was safe and well fed. What a fabulous staff and experience. I am a teacher and we brought in 13 fifth grade students to celebrate their year. The staff was so attentive and patient with all of us. They went above and beyond my expectations. Every student cleared their plate and, of course, loved the unlimited refills on drinks. My chicken was delicious and the baked beans were so appetizing. This location is a frequent stop for a friend and I. It's no longer a full service restaurant but more of an express. Service at the counter has been reliably friendly. Food is usually served quickly as well as fresh and hot. Tonight i ordered the turkey from the budget buster side of the menu. BB with an upgraded side (sweet potato fries), 2nd regular side (green beans) and a beverage comes in under $20. While they don't feature a gluten free menu, there are gluten friendly items to choose from. My friend got a wet bandana - bbq pork & brisket, tons of sauce on texas toast and fried green beans. Mentioned and show it to the Girl at the register and she said Have a Good Evening and did nothing else. Bandana's offers acceptable BBQ but many of its restaurants are located near truly outstanding BBQ spots. So, when I want BBQ in St. Louis I seldom think of Bandana's. However, it was my request for non-fast food nearby and my family member's request for Bandana's. Smell the Smoke is Bandana's slogan but I could discern no smoke smell or taste on my ribs. They did have a sweet glaze rub and were fork tender. They were also the smallest ribs I've ever had. Technically, they were 2" of bone and 2" of the cartilage rib tip. Sweet corn had been cooked all day or reheated. Green beans were okay with a strong celery salt taste. I had a Budget Buster special, which was two ribs (or another meat), two sides, and toast for about $7 with tax. It was a good value. The dinner plate was the same meal with two more ribs but topped out over $12 with tax. Service was very good and attentive. read more

The main dishes were excellent especially the brisket sandwich and the burnt ends. Unfortunately, we wanted more burnt ends, but the quantity is always limited, and it sells out quickly. Service was good, even though you have to order at the counter when you enter, and then someone brings your food when it's ready. As far as ambience, the location on Pheasant Meadows is dated, but it was still warm, inviting and cozy in a rustic kind of way. The fried okra is good as a side dish but as an appetizer, it was just too much okra (for 2 people). Cole slaw is good, (if you like the sweet, creamy kind ) and potato salad just ok. Next time I'll try the baked beans instead of the potato salad. All in all, good food and we'd go back. read more

Half of the menu was gone, wings are dry and burnt, the mountaindew had no syrup, carbonation, just plain out gross. It took very long to get our food and not to mention they didn't update their menu. I ordered boild peanutz as an appetizer and the girl at the register didn't even put it on my tab. I guess someone else returned their BBQ nachos and they clearly put this poop looking food back in the microwave too long and served it to me. I'm never returning to this trifling place again. "Smell that smoke" Bandanas is one of my favorite BBQ spots. I have been coming for years with my family. You can't beat the several BBQ sauces they offer. If you visit try the sweet and Smokey sauce mixes with the spicy sauce. You can't go wrong with the meats. I typically get the pick two. Turkey and Beef. BBQ beans and slaw. The fried corn on the cob is great too. I like the decor, with the log style booths and the open rafter ceiling. It kinda reminds me of a Gatlinburg style restraunt I will say that my visit to this site the service was lacking. I hope it is not trending that way. read more

My friend and I came to this location on Friday. We were the only AA there. We arrived first and placed our order. We sat down. The other people who were behind us got their food first. They were all white. We had to wait another 15min to get our food. If you are a person of color, do not come.to this location. Did not expect this from them. When my son and I went to eat dinner yesterday I was served a very small and very burnt baked potato and dry dry dry ribs. It was like eating pork jerky glued to a bone. This was the third time in the past year that I have been served this quality food. Sadly I won't be coming back ...I gave bandanna gift cards to family and friends for birthdays and Christmas now I am left with one for $50. What a waste! A few years back I missed out on my cousin's wedding, which was catered by Bandana's. I only heard wonderful things about the food, so imagine how bummed I was to miss out on everything. Fast forward to this year when visiting my brother & his family, he suggested we go there! I haven't had bbq in ages so this *really* hit the spot. A new deal they have going on is a smaller sized portion of their regular entrees. For like $5! We all tried several different meats. I got the pork and was thrilled. I loved the different sauces they present in a little caddy. My favorite was the smokey sauce. 3oz delicious meatz, a chunk of garlic bread, and your choice of two sides for only five bucks. Perfectly sized meal so you're not feeling gross afterwards. The staff was mostly teens, but they were really great with getting our drinks out and constantly refilled. We had a really great time and I can't wait to go back for more MEAT! :D read more

I went to Bandana's a few days ago for lunch. I was taking a training seminar class for work out near highways 94 and 40 and our instructor decided to take us here for lunch (yes, he's an awesome guy!) The food was very much just "A-OK' in my book. Nothing about it was very exciting to me at all. The Shaved Duck has FAR better BBQ in my book, and even Pappy's does and I am not that crazy about Pappy's either. I guess I am not a BBQ person so to speak, but there is something about the Shaved Duck that gets my pants, I mean, my mouth, wet! Our waitress was kind of old and she was soft-spoken and hard to hear but she was very prompt and friendly, so no issues there. I think if the chicken I had ordered wasn't so damn tough and dried out, I would have liked it more. My sides were coleslaw and fried corn. The coleslaw was "okay" and the fried corn was cold. WTF. Cold fried corn? Ew. Pappy's has better fried corn. BUT this entire meal was on our instructor so I wasn't going to complain. It wasn't terrible, just not my cup of tea. I'd only go back if I was in the area and was starved and nothing else sounded good/was open. BTW they have Fitz's here so A+ for that! This BBQ is subpar. Ordered through dash (which I know was a mistake) and paid close to $50 for one meal. The brisket and pork that I ordered was dry, chewy and had no flavor. I guess the cheap little bbq packets that comes prepackaged was suppose to be it's flavor. Eating it wasn't pleasant but now a chore because I can't let a $50 dollar meal go to waste. My favorite place to go to for BBQ. The lunch plates are a good value. I almost always order the BBQ baked potato. Variety of sauces to try. They serve a great sweet tea which is hard to find in the northern states. Cute atmosphere in all of locations that I have been too. There are several to visit in Missouri. read more

Always been a favorite. After two years, I returned from California back to my home state. Nowhere in the land of organics had I found true smoked barbecue that nears Bandana's. Nowhere. The apple wood smoke is fantastic on ribs, chicken, and beef. The meat melts in your mouth while the flavor dances on your tongue. Went here the night we moved to OFallon. I got the burnt ends and they were awesome. My parents got brisket and it was very tough.

My partner and I ate at this location this evening. Our service was fantastic, our server was polite, friendly, and very punctual. Our dinner started with chicken strips as an appetizer. There were 4, they were a little small, but they were VERY good. They were extremely hot and obviously very fresh. The breading didn't overwhelm the chicken and the chicken was very moist. It came with some chips and we chose ranch to dip. My meal was buffalo chicken strips (6), cole slaw, fries, and their garlic bread which I love. My partner chose turkey, cole slaw, potato salad, and garlic bread. The meal came out quickly, but not before we had time to finish the chicken. I wasn't very hungry so I only ate half of the buffalo strips, but they were just as good as the regular ones we had for our appetizer. They were coated in sauce, but not dripping which I prefer - it's a pet peeve of mine for them to come out swimming in sauce. I found the sauce a little hotter than I prefer; but that's a minor nitpick as they were very good. The cole slaw was good - not "great", the fries were typical, and the garlic bread was great as always. My partner loved all of her food; and helped me finish my chicken and concurred with me that it was very good. Our server kept our drinks full and checked on us enough to ensure everything was going well; but not so much as to be intrusive. Often that's a fine line that a server can't seem to balance; but she did it well. For those that want to compare it to say Pappy's - well I believe Pappy's is a single restaurant that is consistently is among the best in the area if not the country and Bandana's is a chain. It's not really an apples to apples comparison for me. I'm not saying Bandana's shouldn't strive to be as good as a place such as Pappy's, but I also personally don't expect them to be either - it's the nature of a chain restaurant. Now that being said I do think they are a touch overpriced in comparison to places such as Pappy's, but that "is what it is". So to each their own. I just left this bandanas about 20 min ago so I will let this loose while it's fresh in my mind. The service was ok. Our server was adequate. The food...left a lot to be desired. I've visited 3 other Bandanas in the area and the food was way better than this location. I ordered the wet bandana and I counted a total of 12 fries that I got with my sandwich. The sandwich itself looked similar to sloppy joe meat than the beef and pork combo that was supposed to come on the wet bandana. The fried okra was also over cooked and the garlic bread was not the same as the other Bandana's I've been to. I will not go back to this location. I hope this review helps you. read more

We were seated and not greeted again until Mona walked by carrying drinks to another table and noticed we'd been there a while. She asked if we'd been helped and we said no, she said she'd be right back. She was true to her word and took care of us quickly and efficiently the rest of the meal.
