Birria-Men
Diana M.

Saw the 5 stars and thought it was worth a shot!! So delicious!!!!Definitely going to come back for more. These items tasted very home cooked. The lady at the front was so accommodating and she made sure we were enjoying our meal! Such a sweetie pie. Can't wait to try more items on the menu next visit :) Ambience feels very homey.

Morning Burrito with sausage and no beans

Believe all of the 5 star reviews! Oscar knows what's up. One of the best breakfast burritos. Got the morning burrito with sausage and no beans and it was perfectly balanced. Potatoes inside were well seasoned. Service was great. Would definitely come back

blackened shrimp burrito

Loved it. We got the blackened shrimp burrito and the fish wrap (basically a fish burrito) and both were excellent. Fresh salsas made in-house. Sad we were too late on a Sunday to grab the birria but gives us an excuse to come back! Friendly, family-run place. Parking on-site. Highly recommended. Only thing to note was that the chips were slightly oily but didn't detract from a delicious lunch after a morning at the beach.

Chorizo Burrito no beans

Breakfast burritos were so good. The restaurant was clean and staff were very friendly. The restaurant is in a hidden area so it might be a bit hard to find but parking was spacious. No complaints at all.

Wanted a good, quick breakfast. Oscar cafe did not disappoint! We ordered a French toast meal with bacon and eggs & a small order of pancakes with an egg and bacon. The French toast was really good! The eggs were also made well. My picky toddler loved the pancakes and eggs too! I liked that the bacon was nice and crispy. Happy to find a local business to support! Staff were also friendly and kind! Looking forward to going back to try lunch items.

Steak Burrito

Zero notes for Oscar Cafe. The service and food were both great! I had the steak burrito with the house potatoes; the burrito was very good and the house potatoes were seasoned perfectly. They have a salsa bar that has a few heat options; I tried the green and red salsa, and both had great flavor. The red salsa was spicy so if you have a low tolerance for heat, I would recommend the other salsa offerings. The restaurant itself offers indoor and outdoor seating; the indoor is homey, and the outdoor seating is covered by umbrellas. I would highly recommend this spot for some great mexican food and I plan to return whenever I'm in the area!

I want to highly recommend this place in HB. They exceeded my expectations, THE BEST PANCAKES EVER , fluffy, moist, MY GOODNESS! The tacos not only look beautiful but very tasty and very delicious with their green salsa Chilaquiles OH MY can't even describe how delicious they taste what can I say about their professionalism and the presentation ? Very kind, polite, respectful people. Love it, love it, love it!

This spot is a gem. The breakfast burrito was excellent, super fresh, and full of flavor. All three salsas hit. the red the green, and the creamy one all legit. Oscar the owner is hardworking and one of those genuinely nice people you can tell cares about what he's doing. You can feel the pride he puts into the place. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has good energy all around. Definitely worth the stop. Feels like the kind of spot you root for

Unexpected great food! Enough menu options too, reminds me of a homey midwest diner food (which is a good thing!)

Located right on the water, this restaurant combines incredible Mexican cuisine, stunning ocean views, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps you wanting to come back. One of my favorite things about Ola is the location. Watching the waves while enjoying a great meal creates the perfect Southern California dining experience. Whether you're there for brunch, lunch, dinner, or sunset cocktails, the view alone is worth the visit. As an added bonus, the restaurant is pet-friendly, making it a great spot to bring your furry companion and enjoy the beautiful Huntington Beach weather. The food was outstanding. Every dish was packed with authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautiful presentation. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in delivering quality food that goes beyond the typical Mexican restaurant experience. The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly, and professional, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. Great service combined with an amazing location always makes a meal more memorable. Between the oceanfront views, delicious food, pet-friendly patio, and exceptional hospitality, Ola Mexican Cuisine delivers a complete dining experience. Whether you're a local or visiting Huntington Beach, this is one spot that deserves a place on your list. Highly recommended and definitely worthy of a return visit.

We started out with margs and chips/salsa and guac. The guac was good and so was the salsa but the chips were the best part. Warm too! I had the Punta Negra marg and it was delicious. Perfect balance of sweet and spicy between the blackberries and jalapeños. I had two tacos, the chicken and carnitas. Both were good! The meat on both were pretty dry but the flavor was there. The tacos were fresh too with all their different toppings. Definitely made up a little bit for the dry meats. My husband had the fish burrito. He really enjoyed it. It was quite large so it's great to split with someone or take the other portion home with you.

Promises made promises kept. I did go to Sunday brunch in 2024 right after we voted and needed to celebrate but I had forgotten completely till today, we had a glorious time at the Sunday brunch extravaganza so I decided to rate it here instead of Google review that would reach billions diners. The 1st time we came here, I was beyond thrilled, I thought I was at a banquet for the emperor of China or Thailand. Right at the door, we were greeted with a mimosa and got a table in 10 minutes. The patio was unlike any other, all the tables were like booths, very comfortable cushioned seats not garden chairs like most patios. The buffet was endless, there was a long table and on both sides were enchiladas, birria, chile Colorado, BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken, chicken in wine, refried beans, friend rice, there were 3 more stations, salad bar, huevos rancheros station and salsa bar. That was not all as the buffet was in the patio, inside the restaurant were 2 stations, a cotton candy maker and a long table w delicacies such as cakes, fruits, churros, chocolate and oatmeal cookies. They were all so good, you just don't know what to start, well I started w pozole and menudo bc these 2 specialties were not offered anywhere else, not only that, the pig feet were cooked to perfection even the pork and cartilages were so delicious, they fell off the bone. I also loved their birria, it was again cooked to perfection, I was in Cabo in the most expensive all inclusive hotel on the beach and their menudo was full of chewy meats. The chicken cooked in some sort of wine was so delicious, they did not have a name so idk what it was. The only thing I missed was carne asada, they used to have a taco stand, maybe I did not see it, I had an amazing huevos rancheros, it was so yummy bc they tilted it so the flmae was licking the eggs giving it a flambé taste to the omelet. All in all it was worth more than $49, it was reasonably priced. The last time I had cotton candy was in Coney Island, it brought back memories of Coney and Jersey shore, I felt like a kid again watching the dude spinning the candy, I'll upload a video clip later. This definitely the cantina to be in for the best Mexican food ever, better than anything I had in Mexico lately. The only thing missing was the grilled carne asada but even in Mexico, this spectacular buffet would be about $60 to $70, unfortunately the margarita was expensive, $16 plus tax so I skipped it, it is still the best bargain in town, my next table diners drove here from Ventura just to come here! I'll be back not just bc of the quality food but I also admire Mark Wahlberg as an actor and a wonderful family man.

Maybe closer to a 3.5 Prices are fair but not cheap…read more Considering how much competition they have in the area from local shops and food trucks it's hard to say that solita truly stands out in terms of cuisine. Their tacos are decent, their tortillas aren't bad, and the presentation is fine but not particularly stand out for upscale cuisine but ultimately the salsa is nice and bright, the servers are attentive, and the portions are very serviceable. The meat here is well cooked and has a nice char though most of the dishes are not as spiced and flavorful as some of the local competition. The dishes here taste clean and fresh, but a little too clean for my preference. The lighting inside the restaurant makes it very difficult to see anyone including the food, highly recommend sitting outside or closer to the entrance if that's not your jam.. Overall a decent restaurant but not something I'd go out of my way for.

We decided to go there and grab some lunch since it was Thursday and the tacos and margaritas were on happy hour prices. Place is super easy to find and they definitely have enough parking, I will bet that this place gets very busy in the evenings, as it has a super chill and fun vibe to it. We got seated right away as it is self-serve. And the waitress came to the table immediately with the menu. We ordered margaritas since they were only eight bucks each and that was a screaming deal. She brought us out some chips and salsa, we upgraded to the guacamole because.. hey, guacamole. The tacos were on sale too for $5 each and these are good size tacos. Not those little Street tacos. I had the pastor Taco and the pork belly. Let me tell you something, those pork belly tacos were absolutely amazing. Not going to lie. Both those tacos were absolutely amazing. This is why I love coming to Southern California because there are so many cool places to check out. I will definitely be coming back to this one because.. tacos. Bottom line? I wish I lived closer because I would be here every Tuesday and Thursday for their happy hour. Do yourself a favor. Make sure you get some of those chips and upgrade to the guacamole because it will be worth your while!
