I was super excited to try this place. I was in town for work and drove to Bend for this location since I love sausages. I ordered a hot link with french fries topped with garlic aioli and pepperoncinis for $21. When I got back to my hotel what I got instead was a beer braut that was super dry and not what I asked for. However, the french fries with the garlic spread were so good. The pepperoncinis added a little bit of vinegar acid that sent them over the top. Very tasty. I'll definitely give this place another try. Next time I'll just make sure to check my order before I leave

AMAZING! The chimichurri was the best I've ever had, literally poured it on our hot dogs and poutine. The service was incredibly kind, it was fast, highly customizable and they had a variety of beers and cider. Would definitely stop it here again!

Brat with sauerkraut, jalapeño, and (plenty of) mustard. Yummy.

Quick update. This places remains solid across the board from the food to the service provider to the informal and friendly vibe.

Visited this place with no expectations I was immediately surprised with the large selection of items they had. I decided to order the rattlesnake and duck it was the best decision I've made. Not really a hot dog guy but this was the best glizzy I've ever had. Reuben the server was extremely attentive and very friendly if I could give more stars I would.

We had a great lunch here. Everything we had was tasty. We enjoyed trying the wild game Brats and all of the toppings were great!

We were hungry and we needed something unique, fun and fast. This place seemed to fit all the qualifications. A fun, up-to-date, chill vibe kind of place. We went in and were served immediately. So many options. Reindeer sausage banger or maybe a burnt end banger? How about an alligator banger or maybe a simple chicken and basil sausage banger. Next...add toppings. Soooo many toppings. Grilled onions? Maybe some tomatoes? How about peppers? Next, add a sauce. Garlic aioli, chimmichuri, mustard, ketchup, cheese? Ohhh...I forgot about starters. Poutine fries to start. We didn't wait long and the waitress gave us chimmichuri and fresh bread to start. Then came the poutine fries. Amazing. French fries in a gravy sauce with grilled onions and melted cheese. Then the bangers came. I ordered the basil chicken with grilled onions, tomatoes with aioli sauce. Hot and fresh. Tasted amazing. The buns were so fresh and soft. I will never think bangers are boring again. This place was SUPER!

The perfect blend of flavor, texture, and warmth.

There's a reason this place is a near 5 stars with well over 1k reviews. From the atmosphere, the beers, the food, and the service, this place hits them all out of the ballpark park - and with love. Ruben I think serves most of the food. He's an older gentleman and LOVES what he does. I asked him if he was the owner and he proclaimed that his son Marcelo (marcelito) is the owner. You can tell how proud he is of his son. It's awesome. I can't say too much because there are simply no words. You just gotta come here and experience it for yourself.

Hidden gem. We walked in for the first time, greeted with great recommendations and even better service. The ambiance was cool, very welcoming and everyone was happy to recommend their favorites. We noticed that there were Argentinian items on the menu and my boyfriend, who is Argentinian, was super excited to talk to them about it. They told us all about their story and the owner who is still working even into his 80's because he just loves what he does. It was interesting to see the incorporation of the culture into this type of food, and it was incredibly delicious too! They gave us some chimichurri with bread and the dulce de leche cheesecake! Which were both incredibly good. I had the chipotle mango sausage on top of mac n cheese with grilled onions, bacon, and a side of chimichurri and refused to leave anything on my plate. Mac and cheese was great, especially with the chimichurri and the chipotle mango was great spice level, it was a light spice. The choripan special was great too. My friends got some regular sausages on buns and those were well sized and topped for the price. Great for families. Dog friendly in the heated and enclosed patio area, too! Huge menu selection if you're adventurous and looking to try something new, or just sticking to the classics. We would revisit and recommend to anyone looking to try something new.

Too many choices on the menu. Exotic meat section. Several sides to choose from. Mac n cheese, Gorgonzola fries, sweet potato fries and a garlic chicken dog were our choices this day. A lemonade cider topped it off that was to die for! Small little place with indoor and outdoor seating. Good service and better food! We can't wait to go back to try something different. We loved it all.

Came in today while I'm in town and there's a solid beer selection. I started with beer decided to get a dog and holy by far the best dog I've had. You can tell the bread is fresh baked daily because I've never been impressed by the bun of a dog until today. Owner also seems like a gem. This plays knows hospitality. As well it has a nice little quiet piece of nature surrounding it.

I've never had bangers and mash before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. First off, I have to agree with all the other reviews about the service here. the team members here were so incredibly friendly and helpful-- they answered any questions and also had good suggestions for what to order. My friend and I got the combo with 2 sausages (we got spicy italian and the banger), caramelized onions, pepperoncinis, and chimichurri sauce. Very tasty and filling!

I am a HUGE fan of Bangers and Brews - this is a family-run restaurant with Argentinian roots. Their food is great, lots of excellent beers and everyone there is extremely warm, friendly and engaging! Frankie and Reuben are especially great to meet and talk to! I especially love the burnt-end Brisket Banger and the Argentinian Lager was great. They allow our dog to join - which is a bonus. If you haven't been, I highly recommend stopping in! Take home some Chimmichuri for home consumption..

The service was great and the lady who owns the place is a love. The poutine was not salty as expected and too sweet for us. The garlic aioli potatoes were really good. "Bloody brilliant" according to my wife. The polish and elk dogs were good. Nice to be able to sit outside. They need stickers and stouts on the beer menu. Stoutcast.com for suggestions.

Biggest reason is that quite a few years…read moreago they expanded the place significantly, opening up the large room to the right of the bar that opens into the outdoor area. That room is equipped with restrooms, relieving one of my major complaints about a lack of facilities, as well as a second serving station complete with taps. Since then, Crux has significantly changed the outdoor area as well although I'm not certain it's an upgrade. It's a little too landscaped and way too much like a playground now. Locals have always tended to refer to Crux as 'daycare but with beer.' The last several times I've come here, the second serving station has not been in operation even though it looks to be still fully functional. Meanwhile the line to the bar serving stations is often long, sometimes almost out the door. Not sure why that is, doesn't make sense to have the capacity to more efficiently serve customers but not use it. All that said, the beer is still stellar and they continue to have a wide range of beer choices, the new(ish) large room has plentiful high-top seating (mobility challenged folks will need to venture outside), and the music is kept below ear-splitting volume. You can also sit at the bar itself although the vibe there isn't great - it's not like a neighborhood pub bar. Crux still has a kitchen. I used to order directly from them but have since transitioned to patronizing one of the several food carts outside. Being food carts, they tend to come and go so I'll not go into detail there. That said, the new Alpine Smash burger is fabulous. The other significant change in recent years has been with the location. A dispute with the property owners to the west resulted in the access road that way being closed, requiring Crux patrons to use the road coming from Second/Scott Street (or ride a bike). The west road is now open, maybe because the Jackstraw housing complex over that way is now completed and the road serves their tenants. RIP Spoken Moto.

So if you're hankering for the mac n cheese or shrimp n grits or veg burger or any of the menu items, after today they are history. I started eating at The Drake in their first week of business and had many, many, many meals there over the years but things change and so, it seems, has the popularity of The Drake. Now the good news. The new owners are a trio and one of them is also one of the owners of the inestimable Ken's Artisan Pizza in Portland that opened its' Bend location last year. (Go! Even if you have to stand in line for 45 minutes like I did.) The first news of this ownership change was that they would keep the name and current focus of The Drake. But local television news reports that after The Drake closes today it will be reimagined with a new name and design and menu. The opening for the new place is currently said to be Memorial Day weekend. I don't live in Bend anymore but there is still a family home there and so I visit on occasion and knowing a "Ken's" owner is involved in the new enterprise may make me brave the wicked-bad downtown parking to try this new place. In the meantime, I remember how fun and delicious it could be to eat at The Drake.
