As I'm driving into Bend, I'm being read reviews about this place, and I literally could not stop salivating. No matter what else came up on Yelp in the area, I knew that I was destined to dine at Bangers and Brews. Funny enough, I ordered neither Bangers or a Brew, but I did settle on their weekly special: The Seattle Dog. A short but thick sausage (hehe), grilled and seasoned to perfection, with homemade chimichurri sauce on top and cream cheese. I never thought the combination of cream cheese and chimichurri would be a good one, but it most certainly is. Everything was just so amazingly delicious, I could have eaten two to three more. We also divulged on a side of gorgonzola fries. A huge tray of fries with gorgonzola cheese sauce and bacon with grilled onions. It is definitely as good as it sounds. The restaurant seems to be family owned, with a girl and her grandfather running it. They have incredible personalities. They're really sweet, and really funny. This place is all kinds of crazy amazing, and I highly recommend checking them out. You won't be disappointed. read more

I love that this is Family run and you can feel the love from the employees. The sweet potato fries are delicious, especially dipping them into the special "fry sauce" mixed specially by a member of the Family. I had a glass of the Monkless on tap and a chicken sausage over a bed of greens. In hindsight, I think I would have preferred a bun with my sausage but I wasn't impressed by the one option for that, a fluffy white standard sausage/hot dog bun. I think it would be fantastic to have a whole wheat option or even a pretzel bun option. They still get 5 stars since the Family owned business and you can feel the love running through the place. read more

Tried this place because of the reviews here. I had the banger and mash others in our group had various sausage types we also got the bacon gonzo fries. Good tasting reported by all my banger and mash good flavor. The person who greeted us could tell we were first timers and helped us with the menu selections and suggestions on how to order ... We went on a Friday during the lunch time .. Very crowded but a few chairs open in the patio area. I gave this a four star not because of the service or food .. It was very quick for our party of 5 ... But because we were outside and a fire station is across the street and they had 3 calls with sirens while at the table. Good food great service I plan to go again before I leave town but will eat inside. read more

I absolutely love this place! Service was remarkable and all the gentlemen behind the counter were so patient and helping as it was my first time in. I went with the REINDEER SAUSAGE and I am so glad I did. It was seasoned nicely and each bite offered a nice snap. The bun was soft and toasted quite nicely. You get to pick your own toppings and sauces. I went with chimichurri for an acidic bite and garlic aioli because fat is flavor and I meant come on... who doesn't love garlic?! It was so good I was immediately planning what to order my next time around. I washed my food down with an ice cold red from Riverbend. Perfection. This place doesn't need another 5 star review but they deserve it after I went yesterday. 2nd time going after visiting Bend and coming last year. Ordered the same things which were the traditional bangers and mash and also the small chilli cheese fries. First the bangers and mash is really good. Awesome gravy and excellent potatoes with their house made sausage. I didn't grow up eating this dish but there was a British family at the next table and the their son said it was the best sausage he's eaten in the US so I thought that was cool to overhear. I definitely really like their food and it's great value since the portions are huge! Always friendly service by the owner who works the counter and walks around checking on the dine in guests. This place was a really fun shop that we decided to try out in Bend! The store was very hot, I guess they don't use A/C. We got some sausage with mashed potatoes and a side of fries covered in gorgonzola, bacon and a few other things. The owner was very nice and friendly and fixed an order that we accidentally ordered wrong. The food was very good, but it would have been better with A/C. read more

This was a "hangry" stop on our way home to the Eugene area from Burns. The reviews brought us in but the food will bring us back. This was the first day they reopened for walk in after Covid but were still take out. The place was clean and upbeat. The server at the counter was very patient walking us through the meal options. While we were there the owner came in and chatted us up. He let us know there is a location in Eugene (bonus for us)! The food was excellent, especially the Mac and cheese. The bread and chimichurri was so good! Fry sauce is unique but in a good way. Highly recommend the stop! read more

This is the best food in Bend, Oregon hands down. When I say the "best", I mean if you like food with no allergies or stipulations attached. They will try to accommodate allergies and stipulations, but you won't get the bliss that I get. Don't get me wrong, it's health food. It's healthy because it's fresh. I've been there many times. It's a destination, but I rarely eat out. I can usually make anything better (after a try or two) at home. Not what they make though. That brings me to tonight and another paragraph. The last time I was there I knew I wanted to try their Mac 'n cheese next time, so four months later I order it, but I want garlic bread with it. It's not on the menu, but I know they have garlic, bread, butter and a way to toast it. So I ask if they can make some garlic bread. (Total asshole, I know) They say sure, we can try something. That'd be a great story for a bunch of couch bound self made food critics, but this has layers. I get the Mac n' cheese (for $5 it's better than some of the good stuff you can get in Bend for over twice that) and garlic bread. Here's the great part. They are curious what little ol me thinks since they never served garlic bread before. I coulda said it was perfect, because it was good, but I'm an asshole in case you forgot. So, I told them throw some more minced roasted garlic on it and serve twice as much (4 pcs.) And charge $3. The Mac 'n cheese, I could make better at home, but I don't get that sort of costumer service at home. That value is priceless. Btw...they gave me two pieces of garlic bread and only charged a buck for all the trouble. It's total value both ways. read more

We went to Bangers & Brews on Thanksgiving weekend. Even though this place is counter service, the service was outstanding! One of the owners came to our table and explained their menu and gave us some menu suggestions since it was our first time in. We ordered beers (all Oregon craft beers on taps) and a large order of the Roquefort bacon fries. The fries were outstanding! We also ordered a variety of sausages, toppings and sauces. Everything is so tasty and hits the spot after skiing at Mt Bachelor! The outdoor seating area is very comfortable with actually warm heaters and blankets just in case it's needed. Amazing place!! A huge selection of different sausages to choose from. Delicious toppings to tie everything together and also very good as a salad if you prefer instead of a bun. As soon as we walked in, the father of the owner came over to us with menus and thoroughly explained all of the options. My husband and I had to stop by once we saw Bangers & Brews. It was so goood - we loved the low key vibe and amazing food with good beer options. We had the rotating choripan banger - a hot dog sitting on top of a bed of chimichurri sauce, tomato, and lettuce and the wild boar/garlic sausage! We almost came back a second time, but my husband convinced me to try another restaurant in the three meals we had in Bend. This place is phenomenal! Staff were friendly and inviting, the owner came and visited all of the tables at least twice and he was amazing. The food was out of this world me and my daughter got the bread less option, at most places they just do some sort of lettuce wrap but here they made us a salad complete with sausage slices and balsamic vinaigrette. The appetizers where delicious we got bread and chimichurri along with tomato&onion salad. Stopped in for dinner and one of the best places we've eaten. The people were so nice! It's got a huge variety of sausages, including some very unique ones... venison/rabbit, anyone? Then there's a long list of toppings and sauces and it was all so very good!! From our bangers & mash to smoked apple veggie to the good 'ol bratwurst, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted terrific! Prices were very reasonable.
