At first I thought this was a bbq house, but infact they have a wide assortment of dishes from curry to pad thai dishes to choose from. The menu is simple and there are levels of spice you can choose when making your order. I had the chicken curry and asked for low level spice because well, I'm a wuss when it comes to the heat. Needless to say they did a good job with that, but I felt there wasn't a lot pf flavor to the curry. Also the portions were a bit small considering it looked way bigger in the photos! Ordered from here via UberEats tonight and WOW YUM!!! the menu had a variety of Thai foods including Fish Ball Noodle Soup. This I gotta try!! It came with flat noodles which is how HK style Fish Ball Noodle Soup comes in. Soup was like the HK version, but with a taste of Thai. Fish balls were soooooo bouncy!!! I enjoyed them, but so sad to find only 2 fish balls, 1 fish slice, and a bunch of chicken slices. Picture showed 5 fish balls and 2 fish slices. I felt robbed...Anyway, The chicken threw me off because it's not entirely a Fish Ball Noodle Soup, but it was good and I liked how it came with veggies. Food wise here was pretty good. I got the drunken noodles and the flavor was there. I at first thought the plate was packed but thrilled the bottom with lettuce so... Yea. Had lunch here which starts from 11:00 till 3:00 for $6.75 and if it's after 3PM they add $1.00. Which is still a really affordable lunch. That has seriously been pretty hard to get something cooked and taste pretty decent for that amount of money! I ordered the broccoli chicken and the gravy on this with the rice was super tasty and very flavourful. I loved it and enjoyed the lunch. One thing that was a little odd though is on the table there is only a fork and no spoon so I don't know if this was just our table or not but it still worked out alright. Oh yea and it also comes with a nice salad before hand which was in a small bowl but enough. I was pretty stuffed and actually only ate half of my meal. So I had to take some back. Pad thai, pad see ew, and all these noodle dishes are decent, but not worth my time. I would rather have their rice dishes instead. Bangkok BBQ is a hometown favorite. I've been eating at this joint for a long, long time and recently ate there again about 2 weeks ago. It's got excellent food at reasonable prices and they give generous portions. Most dishes are about $5 to $7. I like their pad se yew, pad thai, chicken satay. They also have very good curries. I like their fish tank filled with African Cichlids (colorful fish, but territorial). If you're in the area, try Bangkok BBQ and you'll definitely be surprised at how good the food is. I've been a here numerous times over the years, but the quality of food in my opinion has gone down. However, my staple dish here is the fried chicken/fried rice combo. The fried chicken flavor and nice crisp of the skin is consistently delicious. Their noodles dishes (Pad Thai's and Pad See Ew's) are pretty mediocre. If I had a choice, I would give Bangkok BBQ a 4.5 stars, mainly due to the occasional lack of service, but I can't really blame them. For a small family-owned establishment, there isn't really a need to have that many workers, so I'd advise you to be prepared to wait. However, from the seven times I've been here, I've never had to wait long. As long as you get the server's attention, you can sit where you like and wait for them to bring a menu. And if you're impatient to get the check, you can always go up to the counter and ask. That being said, the interior is amazing. For a restaurant situated in a plain brown plaza with big yellow letterings, the interior is very decorated with Thai novelties. Definitely do not judge this restaurant from the front. Prices here are definitely not steep, especially if you have the lunch combo (which runs for $6.25 for many combos 7 days a week from 11AM to 3PM). It comes with the entree, a choice of either fried rice (without meat) or plain rice, and a salad with the most amazing dressing. I don't know what's in it, but I'm hooked. The fried rice was also very flavorful, and I was pleasantly surprised that they seasoned it so nicely. My favorite dish would have to be their Thai BBQ Chicken. The skin is so crispy that there's hardly any fat (especially the chicken leg) and they give you the breast, thigh, leg, and wing. It's very juicy and seasoned very simply. It comes with a dipping sauce which is a typical sauce you normally find in most Thai cuisine. The curries are also pretty good and the Pad Thai is extremely good (it's my brother's favorite dish). The Thai tea, which for $2-2.50 (forgot the exact price), is extremely refreshing and tasty. It's also served in a big cup, so you definitely get your money's worth. If you ever take their food to go, they are also very conscientious about packaging the food properly, so I was also very pleased by that. My BBQ Chicken that I took to-go was nestled in aluminum foil, and my salad packed in another container with the dressing in a small container as well. All in all, I definitely recommend this jewel in a rather plain plaza. For the prices you get a lot of food, and the flavors definitely do not disappoint. read more
