Now that Chop Asian Kitchen has pivoted from their Hawaiian fusion mix to a more Chinese food focused restaurant, they have improved drastically. I tried out the beef noodle soup and the pork meat pies. Both were incredibly delicious. The broth from the beef noodle soup was a bit salty; however, it was very flavorful and had good beef flavor. The man who served us was very nice and the overall interior is clean. Highly recommend this restaurant for a cheap, solid eat. I look forward to coming again and trying their other food items! I attached their new menu.

They have a great selection on the menu. Their prices are very reasonable especially being near a college campus. They are generous with the portions and gives free miso soup on order! You also get a discount when paying in cash. The food was great. I loved the Mongolian Beef the most since it had so much flavor and was tender. I'd eat the sushi again for a quick snack. The chicken katsu comes with sauce as well which was good. The people who work there are very friendly. They checked in on us often and served are food fast. The place is small with a few tables but when we were there, there was a lot more people picking up food. I really hope more people try out this place, they're location is somewhat hidden!

First time here, menu looked delicious . I was excited to try the food. My complaint is what's the point of having a non human way to order (kiosk) if it's not getting the order to the cook. I patiently waited 10 minutes before I had to ask where is my order? The cook had no clue that I had submitted my order.! Yes, he was the only person in the restaurant at the time , still no excuse . Orange chicken not very good. CA rolls basic Not sure if I'll come back

This place isn't Chop Asian Kitchen anymore and now called Chop Noodle Kitchen. It's very different from when it was an asian fusion place. Now it's Chinese food with a variety of options with a good portion size and budget friendly for students. It's run by an elderly Chinese couple who don't speak English very well, but there's a kiosk to order so the language barrier isn't an issue. I always order to dumplings because both the wrapping and filling are made fresh in house.

Small bbq beef, already are some

Chicken katsu was good, crunchy but juicy. At 10.99 it was decent value compared to other places nearby. Barbeque beef was a bit chewy but tasted good. Service was timely and the cook got our order the moment we made it on the kiosk. For 3 plates we waited around 10minutes Ambiance was quiet ,no music playing but we did come at night and Togo. This place seems like decent food with good value and fast service targeted towards college students.

    Undercooked galbi

Weird mishmash menu. Halfway through this meal, I've stopped eating to write this review. Ordered to go. $13 for rice, 3 long sticks of galbi, and the worst/weirdest tasting macaroni salad I ever had. There's nothing in the mac salad except the mac. Steamed vegetables were 4 broccoli florets. Never ordering from here ever again. I told my husband this was the worst meal I've ever had & he wasted $13 on me. Also, the galbi is still RED???? Can't chew & swallow it so I spit it out & the flavor or marinade is weird. Don't go here.

Food is very mediocre and the mac was pretty bad

Food was pretty bad. The mac was the worse mac I've ever had. This was ordered off uber eats.

The $9.99 orange chicken (which is incredible)

It was 79 degrees inside, muggy, humid, and completely uncomfortable. We almost turned around and left immediately. The place was practically empty, which honestly should have been our first red flag. We decided to give them a chance anyway. Big mistake. My colleague and I were offered water or hot tea. We both ordered hot tea. The menu clearly says in English that hot tea is $2.99. Nowhere does it clearly explain in English that you will be charged differently depending on how many people drink it. When the bill came, we were charged $5 each. Apparently, there is some clarification written in Chinese, but how are customers who do not read Chinese supposed to know that? That is completely misleading. The tea portions were not larger, not special, nothing different. Just basic tea. The pricing felt deceptive. We also ordered popcorn chicken and chili wonton soup. Both came out in tiny portions that looked like appetizers, yet the menu does not clearly label them as such. For what we received, paying over $30 total felt ridiculous. The food itself was mediocre at best. Nothing memorable and definitely not worth the price. Because of the uncomfortable temperature, confusing pricing, small portions, and average food, we chose not to leave a tip. As we were walking out, the waiter chased us outside and pressured us about the zero tip. That is completely inappropriate. Tipping is not mandatory. It is earned. Confronting customers outside over a tip is unprofessional and embarrassing. Between the heat, the questionable menu pricing, the small portions, and being confronted outside, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. We will never be back. There are plenty of better places within the same plaza than to dine here. I don't expect this place to last long anyway.

We ordered a variety of skewers and sides: - Smashed cucumber salad was refreshing and one of my favorites veggie dish - Lamb and Beef skewers were decent and tender - Special pork jowl had a good fatty texture and great flavor. - Grilled eggplant and scallops were decent as well. Some items were more hit-or-miss for me. The signature chicken wings came out dry & overcooked, and the chicken skin was super crispy almost like air-fried chips -- personally I prefer chicken skin freshly grilled with a softer texture. The beef tongue skewers were sliced too thin, and okra were dry. Service was understandable for how busy they were, but it could be hard to flag someone down during peak dinner time. Overall, I'd say the food quality was okay but not the best skewers I've had, especially at around $50 per person for our group. Still, it's a convenient and lively place for late-night skewer gatherings with friends if you're in the area.

I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

It's a brown sugar milk tea with caramel foam with a floating frozen milk tea bear. ADORABLE!! The set even includes two house-made cookies. WOW! TASTY!! (Important: Cash is not accepted. Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 10:21AM). Parking is very easy. The lot is big. However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

Very pleasant experience…read more Went on a Friday around 6:30 PM. When you walk in, the first thing you see is a waitlist where you write down your name and number. The young woman working immediately acknowledged us before we even finished writing our info down and asked how many were in our party. We said two, and she told us to go ahead and start building our bowls. The concept is pretty cool and very straightforward. You grab a bowl and tongs, then walk through the different sections choosing your ingredients. They had a good variety of veggies, noodles, meats, seafood, tofu, etc. Pricing is by weight at $15.99/lb. Once you finish building your bowl, you head to the cashier where they weigh it and you choose your broth and spice level. The broth selection was surprisingly huge, around 15 options if I remember correctly. I got the Tom Yum broth mild spice, and my girlfriend got the Organic Miso mild spice. We also added jasmine green tea and white rice for $1.99 each. After ordering, they give you a table number and you can head over to the self-serve sauce station while your food is being prepared. The sauce bar had ponzu, sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha, Tabasco, scallions, cilantro, red onion, satay sauce, shallots, minced garlic, chili powder, chili oil, and more. The soups came out quickly and were served over a live flame at the table, which was a nice touch. Both broths were excellent. Even at mild spice, there was still a pleasant kick. The broth itself had good body and flavor and didn't taste watery at all. Service was also great. The server checked on us consistently, kept drinks refilled, and was attentive without hovering. The restaurant itself is pretty small, maybe around 8 tables, but it felt cozy rather than cramped. Nice interior, comfortable temperature, clean setup, and the vibe was relaxing. They were playing bossa nova versions of 2000s and modern hits which honestly fit the atmosphere perfectly. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. Great value, fun experience, and genuinely good hot pot.

The curry chicken is very good for its value. $16 for generous amount of chicken and its thick and juicy. The curry was good flavor on the sweeter side and had a good amount of spice (my level of choice was 2). The double matcha was also very good, they use Marukyu Koyamaen Rindou and the matcha flavor was strong enough to my liking. The cream top was thicker than other places I've tried in the area and had good matcha flavor. For the double matcha I went with Pure Matcha which is matcha with water + matcha cream top. The Air Conditioner was also on and it was very comfortable to sit inside. I'd definitely come back. I think it's good value, the workers are very nice and it's good to support family owned.
