The service is great. The workers were super nice and friendly! They gave me a free miso soup for ordering. That was super sweet of the cashier. The food they have is a fusion mix of Japanese dishes, Hawaiian dishes and Chinese food. I'm shocked by the fusion. But I think it's a great idea. The staff here greets you when you come in and they ask if you want to order on the touch screen or in person. It's a small shop but they do have a few tables and chairs available for seating! The prices range from $2.99 - 13.99 which is reasonable for pricing. Their portion sizes are decent. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and California roll. And they gave me a miso soup on the house! Yay. I was feeling sick & I thought egg flower soup would help by making me feel better but it did not. It was very very cold and not cooked properly , so I threw it away because I didn't want to get more sick by eating it. I ordered a large egg flower soup, egg rolls, & a grapefruit green tea. With me spending the amount that I did , I qualified to receive a free item, the crab ragoons. I did not receive. But was given a different item instead. Right of the bat, the selection of food all look so delicious and so affordable!! The couple who runs the restaurant are so sweet as well! We got the intestine noodle soup and the Szechuan noodle. Both are delicious, it is a bit oily but so flavorful!! Definitely have gone back a few times since. Unfortunately, the store is covered but a big pillar so it's quite hidden. Now that Chop Asian Kitchen has pivoted from their Hawaiian fusion mix to a more Chinese food focused restaurant, they have improved drastically. I tried out the beef noodle soup and the pork meat pies. Both were incredibly delicious. The broth from the beef noodle soup was a bit salty; however, it was very flavorful and had good beef flavor. The man who served us was very nice and the overall interior is clean. Highly recommend this restaurant for a cheap, solid eat. I look forward to coming again and trying their other food items! They have a great selection on the menu. Their prices are very reasonable especially being near a college campus. They are generous with the portions and gives free miso soup on order! You also get a discount when paying in cash. The food was great. I loved the Mongolian Beef the most since it had so much flavor and was tender. I'd eat the sushi again for a quick snack. The chicken katsu comes with sauce as well which was good. The people who work there are very friendly. They checked in on us often and served are food fast. The place is small with a few tables but when we were there, there was a lot more people picking up food. I really hope more people try out this place, they're location is somewhat hidden! read more

This place isn't Chop Asian Kitchen anymore and now called Chop Noodle Kitchen. It's very different from when it was an asian fusion place. Now it's Chinese food with a variety of options with a good portion size and budget friendly for students. It's run by an elderly Chinese couple who don't speak English very well, but there's a kiosk to order so the language barrier isn't an issue. Chicken katsu was good, crunchy but juicy. At 10.99 it was decent value compared to other places nearby. Barbeque beef was a bit chewy but tasted good. It's called Chop Noodle Kitchen now. Went there for a quick meal with my boyfriend after class. The food felt like a nice home cooked meal and the ambience was nice and quiet with quick service. I heard about this place from Facebook Walnut neighborhood post about how it didn't get enough credit for tasteful, authentic, flavorful food so I had to try it for myself. They were clearly prioritizing big group orders while ignoring smaller ones like mine. I asked to add an extra portion of noodles, but it never came. When I told them to forget it, they suddenly claimed it was already being made -- but honestly, it didn't seem like it. The service was slow, unprofessional, and dismissive.
