The reason I take off one star is because if a credit card is used, the customer and not the restaurant must bear the 3 percent cost. I know many service businesses do this now like hair and nails but I do not encounter it much with food. This is my only issue.

They also give you complimentary edamame and cucumber salad, which was such a nice little bonus before the main event. One of my friends ordered the chirashi bowl and it looked like a bouquet of all kinds of fish. We also got the chef's assorted sashimi (amazing assortment) the ankimo special (SO good), and the 4 piece hand roll special (could probably skip this one and save stomach space). For nigiri, we ordered uni, toro, tai, and yellowtail (all amazing.) The uni was especially creamy and delicious. The salmon belly was mesmerizing, the yellowtail belly melts in your mouth and did I mention the ankimo? We also ordered a fish only tempura, and they even gave us our own tempura dipping sauce. It's the small details like that that really make a difference. 10/10, come hungry, leave very full and slightly emotionally attached.

One of their best things is the baked mussels and to date, they are still at the top of the list compared to all other sushi spots I've been to (and there have been A LOT). They are almost always busy, (unless you come during odd hours between lunch and dinner) so be prepared for a wait. And if you do come during the busy hours, it can get a bit noisy in here, but I don't mind this at all; it just means everyone is enjoying themselves, and I'm all for people being out and socializing. i dined here about a month or so ago. service was poor. i…read morewas served FROZEN toro. not at ALL worth the $14/piece pricing. it was so beyond disappointing. but the main point for my review: it seems that there are management issues in this restaurant. during my meal, an employee came in asking for their paycheck. i think the "argument" had something to do with the employee's earned tips as she was demanding to see tip calculations. in response, one of the chefs, i'm assuming the owner and manager of the place, was yelling and seemed to be making threats.. something about sending a lawyer to the employee's house. what was weird was that this was an open argument in the front of the restaurant. everyone, including me, was looking at the both of them. it seemed fishy to me. although i don't know the full situation, it looks really bad that the chef (manager/owner??) was yelling at their employee, to the point where she cried. whatever the situation is, making threats and yelling in public space isn't acceptable. must've been so humiliating and traumatizing for the employee. i didn't bother leaving a tip.. the service wasn't great either. the chef (most likely the owner) seems to be taking advantage of their employees. WILL NOT BE RETURNING. poor food quality and service, but on top of that, terrible management.
