Dining at BangRak truly feels like stepping into a restaurant in Thailand, with a mini spirit house and garlands, herbal inhalers, and all the textures and patterns lining the walls. The food tastes just as authentic, with more spice and aromatic flavors than most standard American Thai spots serve. We ordered the lunch specials for our first visit, which were such a deal at just under $16. Each one included a Thai tea, and we were pleasantly surprised to see a high tea-to-milk ratio -- already a great start! They also served what seem to be homemade shrimp chips that we devoured. I chose the panang chicken and was happy to be really feeling the spice at medium heat, and the flavor was phenomenal. I chose the tom kha soup as my side, and it's honestly one of the best I had locally. The lemongrass was strong, and it was balanced between savory and creamy. My boyfriend's garlic pork was just as good, coming loaded with garlic. We loved our meal so much that we decided to end on the Thai custard dessert. The bread was beautifully buttered and toasted. We loved the variety of subtle flavors: beet root (our surprise favorite), pandan, Thai tea, and butterfly pea flower. The team was SO delightful and friendly, making sure to check in on us, chat with customers, and even double check if we had allergies. Can't wait to be back!

I missed capturing additional photos, but BangRak is phenomenal. The moment you walk in, the charm is apparent through the vibrancy of this restaurant! Service was attentive & kind, allowing us to stay and finish our meal a bit after hours. Portion sizes here are "just right". I don't even know where to begin, as our party of 4 all ordered different dishes. Everything, literally everything, was phenomenal. Coming from Long Beach, California, there are Thai restaurants up and down every street. BangRak is very much in contention with some of LB's finest! Get the Thai iced tea. It's an amazing complement to any meal, and is made well here. Not overly sweet, with stronger floral notes from the tea leaves. A lot of care goes into running this restaurant, apparent in all aspects. We'll be back!

Amazing food and excellent, kind service. My kid and I checked out this new Thai place yesterday because we had been waiting for it to open for several weeks. It didn't disappoint! The shrimp chips were so good and a nice touch, and my Panang beef curry was incredible - I have NEVER had beef so tender at an Asian restaurant. It was like eating perfectly cooked short ribs, melted in my mouth. Kid ordered the chicken satay and sticky rice and didn't share but confirmed it was also really good. Definitely order conservatively for spiciness- my "mild" still had a nice bite to it. I can't wait to go back! Pro tip: there's more parking around the back if you can't find a spot in front.

Some new competition for the best Thai spot in Phoenix! When I showed my husband this spot on Instagram, he immediately wanted to check it out because they have a couple dishes on their menu he hasn't seen outside of Thailand. It delivered on our high expectations. Service was warm, the ambiance is cute, and the location is great. The pad Thai has a perfect texture and flavor (not too sweet, not goopy) but the real star is the crispy pork belly. Saving room for dessert is a must, and I highly recommend the flavored custard with sweet, toasty bread to dip in it! I walked out jealous of the people who had just sat down, cause I would do this again anytime.

If you are looking for an authentic Thai experience, look no further than BangRak. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is bright, colorful, and full of energy--it's the kind of place that immediately puts you in a good mood. We started our dinner with the Som Tum Plara, and it was the perfect, refreshing opening. The green papaya was crisp and light, and the combination of green beans, tomatoes, and that punchy, fermented fish lime dressing was spot on. For our mains, we were thoroughly impressed. My wife ordered the Pad Pak Fai Daeng with added fried tofu, and she thought it was wonderful; the vegetables were wok-fried to perfection, retaining a great texture. I opted for the Gang Kiew Wan Kai (Green Curry Chicken), which was a highlight of the meal. It came packed with Thai eggplant, bamboo, and basil, and the addition of the egg was a nice touch. The curry itself was exceptionally aromatic and balanced, with a depth of flavor that kept me reaching for more. Both dishes were served with rice, which was the ideal way to soak up every drop of that delicious sauce. Beyond the food, the service was truly outstanding. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. It's rare to find a spot that hits the mark on food, atmosphere, and service all at once, but BangRak nails it. We will absolutely be coming back!

Saw this place yesterday when I went to Angie's next door and went in for dinner today. Absolutely amazing food. They're in their soft opening and it's outstanding the quality of the food. The ambiance feels authentic to Thailand and the service was incredible. It's a very intimate setting with a dozen or so tables and the music had us smiling. We ordered an appetizer and a couple of dishes. Everything was phenomenal. Go check this place out asap!

I liked that the lunch specials came with a Thai tea , such a nice touch. The curry broth was really flavorful, although I wish it came with a little more chicken. The Tom Kha Gai was also delicious, creamy, tangy, and comforting. My only downside is that the lunch special is dine-in only.

I stopped by in the early afternoon for some take-out--grabbed the avocado salad, which had fresh ingredients but was a very basic salad, and a main dish with ground beef, rice, a fried egg and cucumbers -- it was good! The fish sauce with cut chili peppers made it even better! I'll be back to try more stuff!

We drove 30 mins from Cave Creek on a weeknight to visit Bangrak and it was so worth it. The quality, freshness and care was evident in each dish and the service and atmosphere matched. I appreciate the commitment to doing something different than the standard Thai options. The good news is we'll have to bring a couple of friends with us next time to check out all the great options we couldn't try given it was just two of us. This is a gem and I'm sure they'll only get better over time.

Bangrak is a newly opened Thai restaurant with an authentic street food style. I had a chance to speak with the owner, and they were so lovely and welcoming. The owner is passionate about sharing authentic Thai flavors, culture, and popular dishes. I hope they will add more dishes that Thai people miss, such as crispy rice salad, khanom jeen with fish curry, authentic boat noodles, and traditional Thai desserts. I'm so happy to have more delicious Thai food close to home, and I wish them great success! My only request is for cozy booth seating where I can practically lie down--just kidding! I think with a cozier atmosphere, this place could become one of the busiest Thai restaurants around.

This new Thai restaurant is delicious and serves authentic Thai Bangkok street food. The service is amazing and the staff is so sweet and welcoming. The price is fantastic and they offer lunch specials.

This restaurant did not disappoint! The food was insane! The panang curry with the short rib was absolutely to die for! The customer service was amazing, such kind, thoughtful and welcoming employees! I can't wait to go again

Honestly I was pleasantly surprised with this new restaraunt. The presentation of all the food was delicate and thoughtful. Also, the food was actually spicy and so delicious!! I recommend the Kao Soi, it was so rich and yummy. Lastly, dessert was fresh and unique. I loved how this place maintained an authentic Thai style with an elevated experience. The staff was so sweet and welcoming, felt like a personal dinner. Plus dw they have a bar too! And I am a real person, trust me go try this place yourself

**July 2026: Thursday Night**…read more We wanted to end our trip on a high note so we decided to try Lom Wong, a 2025 James Beard Award winner! The fact that the restaurant was very close to our Airbnb, and did not require a reservation also felt like a sign to make the visit. The spot is definitely trendy, and parking was tricky. Uber/Lyft would be my recommendation, but there is a paid parking garage down a couple of streets. We didn't need a reservation since we had a small party, but I would recommend if if you're coming with a party of four or more. We sat at the bar and ordered four dishes from different categories, which was a great way to sample the menu; though honestly I think we probably could have gotten away with just 3 dishes for a party of 2. We tried Yam Mamuang Boran (old-style green mango salad), Boo Pad Pong Garee (crab curry with ginger), Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (dry tom yum with wide noodles), and Naem Khao Tot (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage). The noodles and salad were definitely my favorite though everything was seasoned really well and incredibly flavorful. What I loved most was how thoughtfully prepared everything felt. The restaurant has a really sincere, home-style feel, and you can tell the food is rooted in tradition while still feeling special and elevated. It was the perfect final meal for our trip, and I'd definitely come back again.

The biggest disappointment was the Arai Kodai menu option, where the kitchen selects the dishes for you. Unfortunately, the selections felt pretty average. We were served Tom Kha Gai (a creamy coconut soup), Kaeng Phet Charindia (a red curry), Papaya Salad, and Scallop Crudo. While everything was well-executed, none of the dishes felt particularly unique or showcased why Lom Wong has such a great reputation. Honestly, it's the kind of meal I could find at a good neighborhood Thai restaurant. The other downside was the pacing. Being to Thailand many many times, this is nothing we have experienced. We had barely received our drinks and taken a single sip, when immediately every dish hit the table all at once. Instead of feeling like a curated dining experience, it felt rushed and a bit stressful trying to juggle multiple dishes plus our drink: Karaoke king (which would have been good if I had a second to enjoy it) Overall, it was still a nice meal and great atmosphere on par with other Thai restaurants. My advice: skip the chef's selection and order à la carte. Just be prepared for the food to come out quickly and all at once.

I expected the restaurant to be busy during lunch time, but I certainly did not expect how small it is. It felt crammed inside, but no big deal. Parking was also tricky. It's pretty limited, so I had to park a bit further away. In terms of food and service, Thai Basil did a great job. Our server was very patient while we figured out what to order. I went for the Chicken Pad Thai and stuck with water as my drink. I was pleasantly surprised when the food started coming out because I expected it to take longer. I'd say it took about 15 minutes, even during lunch rush. My Chicken Pad Thai was delicious. The serving size was good and it came with a spring roll on the side. The price isn't bad at all either. It was basically $16 after tax for my lunch. I'd definitely come here again on my own.

Parking was easy, but unfortunately the service was the worst part of the visit. I sat down to look at the menu and place a to-go order, only to be told to move to another seat. A simple order of pad thai and spring rolls took exactly 42 minutes. After several follow-ups, no one told me the food was ready until I walked up to the counter myself. Overall, a frustrating experience, and I would not recommend it with other Thai restaurant options nearby.
