Thai Long-An has been my go to for years now. They have the best Pad Thai. They have the cutest and most authentic decor. I also enjoy that they are quick and the food is always hot. The staff are very friendly as well. It's also conveniently close to where I live which is a plus. Recently I tried the shrimp egg rolls and they were sooo good. Honestly I'm shocked to see all the reviews about bland food and the food being too expensive. It was exceptional and totally full of flavor, we don't even get anything spicy since my husband is allergic. The staff were so sweet in there and we went with our toddler and they were so good with him. Everything was fresh and fast. We got 4 dishes and 2 Thai iced teas for a total of $80, that is a bargain for eating out these days. It's a small place so I can see a lot being take out. We were craving some Thai food for lunch and there was a few options, but we settled on this one. This was my first time at this restaurant and there was enough parking spots on a weekend afternoon. There was one other family dining when we arrived, and a few more came while we were there. We ordered crab rangoons for our appetizers, and they came with a sweet and sour sauce. They were delicious! Crispy, hot, and creamy cheese/crab filling. For my entree, I chose the drunken noodles with tofu, spice level 4/5. My dining companion ordered their yellow curry with tofu, spice level 3/5. Our food came out and we dug in. My dish was not piping hot, but moderately warm with some hot spots in the middle. There wasn't enough sauce/flavors and the noodles were more on the mushy side. The tofu was cooked well and tasted great. My dish was not spicy, maybe a 2 or 3, so I added some Sriracha sauce. I tried the yellow curry and it was pretty good. Service was friendly and our waters were refilled appropriately. I may try different dishes if I return in the future, but in the meantime I will choose other Thai restaurants. read more

Nice, solid Thai experience with wonderful service. The building looks like a refitted old house with a small parking lot on the property. We ordered Tom Kha soup with tofu, Pad Thai with chicken, Papaya Salad Bangkok style and Spicy Basil Noodle. We did level 3 out of 5 for spiciness. It was perfect, plenty of heat but not so hot that you can't enjoy the flavors. The servings were large and the 4 items were more than 2 people can eat. SCAM LIKELY! Told me one figure over the phone for cost then tried to charge me more when I showed up. Then when I asked why it was more than I was told she first went silent & acted strange then when I told her I wouldn't be back because she was trying to scam me she said it was "credit card fees". I wasn't using a card anyways, which was very obvious from the get go when I tried to hand her the money multiple times. Seems like she was seeing what she could get away with. My neighbors favorite thai restaurant. We finally got to try. There sign is not lit so it looks like they are closed . I missed the restaurant and had to turn around. There was only one server to handle 30 customers and the out. Felt sorry for him . I ordered Friday around 515 and it was delivered close to 7, which was exactly as the app promised. Overall the dishes were way too sweet. Ordered the following. Tom Yum- spice level 3- excellent spice level. About 8 pieces of tofu. Sour level was great but it was sweet which was odd. Egg Plant - spice level 1- i was very disappointed with this dish. Typically this and the Tom Yum are my favorite. They're was very LITTLE eggplant. Maybe 8-10 pieces. There was so much carrot in it. The sauce was very runny and the flavor was INCREDIBLY bland. Pineapple Fried Rice - spice level 1- ordered this for my 2 year old + 11 month old. They loved it. There were ample veggies + chicken. Again, very bland. Pa-Naeng Curry - spice level 2- great spice level. I could've go to a 3 and been good. No complaints on this one. Tasted great. Mango Sticky Rice - very disappointed. This review is based on a Uber Eats delivery. If you can't tell there is a reoccurring them when it comes to Thai food. I want to try all of the locations. Regarding the food, it arrived hot. Considering it's a bit of distance from my home. The spice was good. I tend to order Thai hot because it really has a kick. My daughter ordered wings with a main dish. The only thing that was missing was the rice. We didn't receive any with out order. It was a healthy portion. I ate what I coold for dinner and the rest for lunch the next day. My date paid 100$ for beef broccoli and orange chicken. The beef broccoli was not edible and tasteless. It did not taste fresh! First timer....got some food to go....which included some apps and a few main dishes. Right off the vibe was very welcoming when placing the order over the phone. The ETA for food to be ready was spot on, so I really appreciated that. At pickup the service was super polite and cordial. Looking around the place looks relaxing inside with a calm ambience. We got the Fried Wontons and Thai Vegetable Egg Rolls to start. Both of them had peaks of flavor and the right crunch. Main dishes were Pork Teriyaki and Drunken Noodles with chicken. One slight suggestion would have been a bit more of the teriyaki flavor on the pork but the rice was nice and fluffy. The Drunken Noodles were flavorful and scrumptious as expected. After seeing a fellow Yelper post about this restaurant I had to try it! Thai food is one of my favorite cuisines. The menu drew interest with many great options. We had a hard time choosing as everything sounded great! We decided on the Beef Pad-See-Ew (my fave Thai dish) the Thai egg rolls and three of a kind, which has scallops, chicken and shrimp in veggies. We were not disappointed. The flavor was spot on, not overly salty and not lacking any spice. The only thing we were a bit bummed about is that the portions are a bit smaller than most Thai restaurants we have had before. Usually there is enough for plenty of leftovers. Overall, this place is a must to add to your list if you haven't already. 10/10 read more

I wasted $30 on sup here. I wasn't feeling 100% and I just wanted some coconut soup. I made the worst mistake by ordering from here. I ordered the soup and a small rice (which came in a gross plastic bag that it looked like it had been in all day it was so gross(. It was $30. Absolutely over priced but like I said I really needed comfort food. My food arrived and the rice was hard and slimy stick to some plastic bag. The soup was GREASY ICK. I wasn't creamy and coconut-y. I was orange. I don't know why it was orange but it matched the door of the layer of grease floating on to. The chicken was two big pieces of chicken that weren't even cut I and they were so dry and chewy that they were inedible. They tasted horrible. There were a few mushrooms floating on top that tasted like they had just been thrown in and not like they had any flavor at all. I really wanted to like this place but it was seriously the worst coconut soup I have ever had (and I've tried so many because I travel for work). I've never had one that is dimly and greasy. I really wish I could just have my money back because it was so ridiculously expensive. This soup should not be slimy and greasy Also the flavor wasn't good. I couldn't even eat a bowl. Got a chicken pad Thai level 3/5 spice. Really lacked taste and it barely had any spice to it. The saving grace was the portion size, was able to eat another meal out of it. Entree was $15+. I went to Thai Long-An in my ongoing search for delicious Pad Thai. I found the Pad Thai here to be very satisfying. Thai Long-An will add the spicy on a scale from 1 to 5 with 1 being mild and 5, well, I don't need to know, because Thai Spicy hits different and I am not going there. Being my first time, I chose 1, but I think next time I will try a 3. The reason being, the flavor is a little sweet forward, but I think that when you do get that hit of spice it draws out the tamarind flavor more. It was an ample portion with plenty of sprouts and crushed peanut. I ordered the House Pad Thai which comes with Shrimp and Pork, but i found the protein portion a bit small. Nonetheless, it was entirely too much food for me, but satisfying enough that I ate it all and was stuffed. Nicki the owner was extremely nice and chatty and very interested in knowing her customers. Being there five years and through the pandemic, she has weathered a lot and seen a lot change in the neighborhood. I used to frequent this spot often when it was America's Taco Shop before it was raided. Having recently returned to the neighborhood, I'm very pleased that there is another satisfying comfort food destination in this location in the Melrose District. I also tried the Chicken Satay, which is 6 skewers. No wonder I was full. There's only so much you can do with lean chicken, although the chicken was cooked perfectly, very hot and not dried out. I enjoyed the peanut sauce and also found it a little bit sweet forward. I think it could have benefitted from more tang, but it was better than many I've tasted in the valley. On my next trip I tried the Cripy Pan Fried Thai Noodles with Pork. This I enjoyed very much. The Noodles are thin and are served in a bowl. The noodles on top are cruncy and those on the bottom are sitting in the broth and so are softer, but as you start to dig in, the you mix the crunchy top with the juicy bottom. The broth was very tasty. It had the flavor of a beef broth with more umami notes. It was well complimented by the heat (I went with level 2, can still go higher) which again brought out some slight tamarind notes. I found the broth very comforting and satisfying. The the oyster sauce, the broth maintained a viscosity that allowed it to adhere to clumps of noodle so that in your mouth you got these noodles releasing the broth combined with the crunch of the crispy noodles. The broth is the real start here. Perfectly cooked broccoli and carrots with a nice crispy bite added more texture to the mix. I ordered mine with Pork which came thinly sliced. There was an ample amount of pork, but I found that it took a back seat to the noodles and broth. All in all, a delicious filling meal that I found to be very comforting. Can't wait to go back and try more on the menu. Nicki is especially wanting me to try their curries, the Pumpkin and the Avocado. And, I am inclined to do what she says. I sense comfort is around the corner. UPDATE: I did go back and try the pumpkin curry. It was delicious. The chunks of pumpkin added a sweetness and starch to the yellow curry. There was generous portions of chicken, onions, and carrots as well. I went with spicy level 3 which wasn't all that spicy. It was nice punch with the sweetness. The curry almost had a nutty flavor, although there are no nuts in it. Delicious with the rice. I think I'd prefer a less sweet curry, but this was perfect for pumpkin spice season. This is served in a large bowl with a side of steamed rice. My picture shows about 1/3 of the amount in the bowl. read more

I'm real picky when it comes to Pad Thai, and this is a close second to my favorite. Flavor isn't smack you in the face, but it has all the right ingredients. A little tangy, solid white meat chicken, and they'll make it spicy for you (ordered a 3 out of 5 and got barely any spice, will go higher next time!) I was excited about the eggplant dish, thinking it'd be more like...wok style/grilled if that makes sense. It was suspended in sauce, and the sauce was just okay. My daughter and I stopped in on our way from having her senior pictures taken downtown. We eat Thai quite often near our home in North Phoenix, and we're excited to try a new place. We ordered the special which was an Avocado Curry, the Pad Thai with Chicken, and the Yellow Curry to bring home for my son. Everything we ordered was the best Thai We have had. Truly- we will be making the 40 minute drive as often as we can to eat here again. The yellow curry in particular was absolutely amazing. Heat- I usually order a 4 or 5 but did a 3 here just because I didn't know what to expect and it was about as hot as I would like it, so maybe consider that. Thai Long-An - Drunken noodle veggie 4 spice...delicious! - Thai Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Thai Long-An is on my list of go-back-to Thai places if I'm in the general area, and this is one of those restaurants that I really wish Yelp had a half-star option for. 3.5stars overall, as it does pale a little in comparison to some other Thai restaurants I've had around the Phoenix area. Off of 7th avenue, this restaurant has its own parking lot, inside and outside dining, and very friendly service. It just comes down to the food, which I think veers always on the sweet side. The flavors are there, but the underlying hint of sweetness in every single dish isn't my favorite. Tom Yum soup: I like that there is an option to get a bowl or entire hot pot, and the pot comes with dancing flames in the middle to keep the soup hot. The flavor is good, and when I've gotten the vegetarian version, it's been heaped high with a variety of freshly chopped vegetables. Just as a sidenote, apparently the tofu version doesn't come with much veggies, which I thought was interesting. Yellow curry: This curry was creamy and had good flavor, but it was almost more sweet than savory. The potatoes were slightly underdone, but that could be a personal preference since I like my potatoes quite soft. I liked the heaping mound of rice that came with this curry, and it was quite a generous size. Green curry: Though yellow curry is usually my favorite, I gravitated more towards the green here because it was less sweet and had that nice kick to balance out the sugar. Again good flavor. Drunken noodles: These were okay, but I thought that the rice noodles had been a bit over cooked so that they were a little soggy and falling apart. The pork had good flavor, but I would've liked to see more sauce and savoriness in the dish itself. As you can see from the pictures, the color was quite light and gave the feeling of being somewhat bland. The carrots were also undercooked so that they were crunchy in the middle. Mango sticky rice: This was made very well, and it's one of the better renditions I've had. The sticky rice was cooked just right, not too soggy and not too hard. It had obviously not been sitting in the fridge for too long like at some restaurants because the rice granules weren't stuck together too much, and with the drizzle of warm coconut milk over it, it was delicious. The fresh mango accompanied it nicely, and the portion was generous for the price. Chances are I'll be back to Thai Long-An, especially if I'm in the mood for something a little sweeter. read more

Tiny hole in the wall type place! I ordered red curry with tofu for take out from here today and I must say, I was impressed! I got my food right on time which was great! It's a pretty big portion too for an affordable price. It drives me crazy when places don't provide me with enough curry to meet my needs haha, but this place gives you plenty! The curry was very good. Thick and creamy, vegetables were cut thick which I like. The chunks of tofu were a bit too large and chewy for my liking, but otherwise very delicious. I'm not sure if I'd ever dine in here, it's a little small, but I'd be happy to get take out again! I'd like to try other things from the menu.
