This is my favorite place to get bah mi! The staff that owns and runs the place is so friendly and welcoming. The flavors on all the bah mi's are amazing, but my personal favorite is the bbq pork. As of right now I don't believe there is eating in but we don't mind as it's been nice to just sit and enjoy the outside atmosphere. A great place to get a fantastic banh mi for a reasonable price. The owner was very nice, and recommended a green tea she had just made, which was delicious. They have no indoor seating, but we sat at a table outside and they kindly brought the food and drinks out. We got tofu and chicken banh mis, which were exactly what you'd hope them to be: the toasted but fluffy baguette surrounded tangy sauce and crunchy vegetables, and the tofu was well-prepared, which you can't count on everywhere. Best fried spring rolls we have ever had-- seriously (we ordered them 3 times during one week trip). We bought our own romaine to wrap them with they are that good, the fish sauce is on the watery sweet side. The pho broth is pretty strong aromatically so I just added a little water to get it to my taste. Apparently the noodles are terrible but the meat is really delicious. The cold cut banhmi is savory perfection but the bread was stale first 2 orders, finally fresh the 3rd order. Thought about having our own bread on stand by. After perusing the menus of some of the trendier spots on Middle Street, we decided to go for a quicker, fresher option that wouldn't require table side service. The menu here is all Vietnamese from what we could tell (not a blanket Thai/Viet/Chinese take out place), which is good because they do what they do and they do it well. The BBQ pork banh mi was super tasty, and the vermicelli bowl with crispy spring rolls, BBQ pork, pickled veggies and fresh bean sprouts, basil, and lettuces was super refreshing on a hot summer day. Small place serving big flavor.. and not to mention good portions at great prices! Got the tofu banh mi, rangoon, and taro egg roll..all so yummy! The sandwich is on a crusty baguette, with fresh veggies and a delicious sauce. The rangoons (vegetarian btw!) are delicous as are the taro egg rolls. Visiting Maine for the first time, staying at a hotel about 20 mins away by foot. Arrived around 7:15 thinking they were open until 9, only to be told they closed at 7.
