Thanh Truc has always been a childhood favorite of mine! I always go for their Com Tam Dac Biet (combination broken rice), which comes with a fried egg, sausage, egg, meat quiche, shredded pork, and a grilled pork chop. The broken rice is served with vegetables and fish sauce, and you can also ask for soup on the side. They usually serve their Bun Bo Hue broth, which is light but still packed with flavor. My only complaint is that the fish sauce could be a little stronger. I ended up using the entire bowl and honestly could've used more. The pork chop has a really nice glaze, and while the quiche tastes a bit different from the typical version you'll find elsewhere, it was still very good. There are other spots in Eden Center that serve Com Tam for a little less $$, but Thanh Truc has always been a classic for me. read more

The owner of this place is the sweetest human on earth!! We asked about her pandan tea and she gave us a free pack just because... Anyways, food was great too! The flavoring of the pork for the broken rice dish was on point. Perfect blend of savory and sweet. The meatloaf wasn't too salty either which I liked! I wish the broken rice had more of the fragrant rice smell though but other than that, I really enjoyed this place for Com Tam. Bun Bo Hue was also very flavorful and heartwarming. One of my favorite pork chopped and broken rice place in the DMV area. The owner is so sweet and kind and always provided such splendid service with a smile. We always get the combination broken rice because we just love everything and the portion was super generous for the price. The pork chop here is very soft and tender. The restaurant is a very small restaurant but always super busy but the food comes iut super quick. Would recommend this place 100% if you're ever in Eden Center and needing a broken rice place. Had an amazing experience at this mom and pop restaurant. The service and vibe was akin to being at your asian grabdmother's house. Their specialty here is their broken rice platters. I had never tried it before and it was absolutely delicious! The meats had a bit of sweetness which paired amazing with the umami of the fish sauce on our rice. The ban bo hue was also delicious it was full of flavor and the meats in the soup were delicious. I've had my fair share of Vietnamese food growing up and this place is the real deal. The place is tucked away in one of the mini mall segments of Eden Center. The place is cozy and you can tell it's a mom and pop type of restaurant. The food is very authentic and you're guaranteed a flavorful dish no matter what you order! I got the bún bò huế (spicy noodle soup) and a cơm tấm bì sườn chả trứng (rice plate with shredded pork/grilled pork/egg). The meat was so flavorful in the bún and there was a nice kick to the broth. I usually order this dish and skip the broth but the one here was so good that I managed to clean the bowl. Meanwhile, the rice plate was PACKED and the meats paired nicely with the broken rice. Add some of their fish sauce to that and it was chef's kiss. There was so much shredded pork leftover that we ordered extra rice and took it home for basically an additional meal in itself. Paid $40 after tax and tip which I think is reasonable considering the portions were huge. Don't expect the service to be at your beck and call. You'll have to flag someone down from the back for help. However, that's typically how traditional Viet restaurants are and by the time they do come help you out, they're super friendly and give you mom vibes. This place has been the go to restaurant for com tam for me for years - probably since I was a child and it never disappoints! I usually get it with the meatloaf and grilled pork, and it comes with broken rice, onions, carrot, lettuce, fish sauce, and spicy sauce but they give me extra sauce and meat sometimes too. Food is delicious, even though sometimes it can seem a little too dry for some people. It's spot on with how com tam is and the service is always quick and fast so I prefer getting com tam here than somewhere else where it may take longer. Price is good in my opinion as well for the portions - I always split my box into two meals. Very underrated place at Eden that deserves more attention. However, I've only got the com tam here so I don't know how their other dishes are like. You can pay with cash or card but I prefer cash since they'll manually have to put it in with card. read more

It is a dish with grill porkchop, pork/egg custard, pork skin with shredded pork bits, small salad consisting of tomato/cucumber/pickled carrots and a sunny side up egg served on top of broken rice and a side of sweet fish sauce. Highly recommend as this is their specialty and you can tell because of their stacks of "broken rice" rice bags piled up in the restaurant. They are known for their crushed rice, and I ordered the #9 which came out very very fast! I've had many rice dishes like this before, but this was by far the best and very authentic. I been going to this place since I was a child, my dad actually went to school with the owner and knew her father back in Vietnam. So the recipe is straight from the motherland itself. This is a hidden gem inside the front left portion of Eden Center. The restaurant is small (7 tables) and simple. The menu is very limited to mainly rice (com) and bun (vermicelli) dishes. If you're looking for authentic home made dishes for com and bun this is the place. The meats are nicely grilled and typically comes with side of fresh chopped greens and carrots. A look at the simple menu tells you they stick to what they do well. While they do offer some noodle dishes, I always opt for com tam bi suon cha here (and an extra order to-go!). I don't know what it is, but something about the com tam here makes it better than the com tam that I've tried at any other place in Eden. Maybe it's the nostalgia from having their com tam since I was kid. They've been here that long so they're definitely doing something the right way. Look for this place for some of Eden's best com! This is my go-to restaurant for Com Tam since 2018. I have been up and down the east coast for years and Thanh Truc is the only place that can satisfy my craving for Com Tam! One of the owners of the restaurant came to my table and recommended a variety of their speciality dishes. I ordered number three on their menu which included grilled pork, shredded pork, meatloaf, eggs, white rice, and a side of fish sauce. The dish was so savory and delicious as everything on the plate blended very well together. The service is not amazing as you are not constantly being visited to see if anything is needed. However, the restaurant is so small, you can put your hand up to ask for assistance with anything that is needed. I will definitely be visiting Thanh Trúc again. read more

This is one of my go-to places for food in the Eden Center. The Com Tam is among the best I've had, and I've tried it at many places. The owner is super friendly and welcoming. The first time I was there, I forgot my sunglasses, and when I returned three months later, he remember who I was and return my sunglasses. One time when I mentioned to my friend we may not have enough cash to pay, he overheard and told us we can pay the next time we came (we ended up paying with a credit card).
