Bánh Cuốn Tây Hồ is a solid spot if you're craving fresh bánh cuốn. The rice sheets were nice and thin with a good amount of filling, which is always a good sign they know what they're doing. The crispy fried tempura on the side was honestly one of the highlights. Super crunchy and paired really well with the soft rolls. The chả giò though was a bit of a miss for me. It was very chewy and tasted like there was too much flour in the wrapper, which took away from the texture I was expecting. One thing I really liked was that they serve the fish sauce hot. That small detail makes a big difference and shows they care about the experience. I do wish they also provided cut up red chilis for extra heat since that would really complete the setup. Overall still a good place for bánh cuốn and I would come back, especially for the fresh rolls and that crispy tempura.

Delicious banh cuon! Stopped by with a friend in the morning. Decided to order the special with everything on it. I wasn't a hugest fan of some of the toppings, but it was still good! They are generous with the amount of food you're getting for the price. 8.5/10!

Food: we tried the #11 plate, which comes with a lot of food! It's a good sampler - my favorite pieces were the classic rice roll with pork and mushroom, ham, and fried shrimp/potato fritter. They give so much fish sauce, which I used to keep dipping things instead of pouring over to make sure things don't get soggy. Service: the menu makes it easy to order items and they are able to package things to go really well. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]feels like a mom and pop shop, next time we'll try to eat in. I wish I had places like this closer to me![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]My group of 7 came in on a Sunday at 1pm. I remember this place used to be packed around lunch time. This time there were only 1-3 other groups dining.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I remember coming here a few times as there weren't many other Banh cuon shops around. I really like their yam tempura with shrimp. It's fried well and is very crispy. The beef wrapped in betel leaves is also a favorite. They are the biggest I've ever had. Very flavorful. Unfortunately the fancy pork with the banh cuon was my least favorite.

Decided to come down to the original location. All food was great and on point. Ingredients were all fresh. We went early before dinner and enjoyed quick and attentive service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant was relatively clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We also had a soursop smoothie, that didn't seem very fresh it was a little on the sweet side. Overall, not disappointing at all.

Stopped by and ordered the #11, Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet to go. Even after bringing it home, it still tasted as if I was eating it fresh at the restaurant, which was impressive. The rice sheets were soft and delicate, wrapped around a savory pork and wood ear mushroom filling. It also came with plenty of Vietnamese ham, bean sprouts, herbs, and crispy fried shallots that added great texture. The nuoc cham dipping sauce tied everything together with that perfect sweet and tangy balance. Portion size was generous and everything felt authentic and satisfying. Overall, a really solid banh cuon spot. Great flavors and it travels well for takeout too. Would definitely come back to try more items on the menu.

Stopped by Banh Cuon Tay Ho with a couple of friends, and everyone left happy! One friend got the banh cuon and devoured it. He said it was delicious and super fresh. Another ordered the broken rice dish and called it his favorite of the day. I had the chicken glass noodle soup (mien ga). The flavor was solid, but I do wish the broth had been hotter. Still enjoyable, just needed a bit more heat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was quick, and the place was clean and well-kept.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, a great casual spot for Vietnamese comfort food. Will definitely be back to try more dishes!

My mom and Little absolutely loved banh cuon [Vietnamese savory rice rolls] and Banh Cuon Tay Ho is their absolute go-to for any kind of cravings. The menu offerings are plentiful and consists of traditional Vietnamese dishes but their primarily known for are the assorted banh cuon/banh uot. In my opinion, Banh Cuon Tay Ho Dac Biet is the only way to go. This item gives you a plate containing a little bit of everything. The plates are very filling, food is plentiful, and the only complaint I have is nuoc cham [fish sauce] isn't great. 3 stars altogether.

Banh cuon is one of my favorite dishes, and this spot makes it pretty well. I'd say it's better than the other competitors around! Textures and fillings are just right. But, I'm really not a fan of their nuoc mam dipping sauce though, it's off-putting and kinda fishy. BANH CUON NHAN THIT: 4.25/5 ($15.95) + MUST try! I love banh cuon with the ground pork fillings compared to the shrimp or plain (banh uot) + Love the yam tempura fritter. Cha lua is just alright

If you're looking for quick, delicious Asian comfort food in South Sacramento, this spot on Stockton Blvd is a hidden gem that deserves more love. It's a no-frills, laid-back place -- one of the OGs that's been around for years, and it's still holding it down strong. I've been coming here with my parents for years -- it's one of their go-to spots -- and now I find myself bringing friends here whenever they want to try something new and different. The food is consistently good, portions are generous, and the service is quick and friendly. What we ordered: * #11: Banh Chien Trang Ho Dac Biet (Trang Ho Combination Flour Sheet) This is the dish most of my family and friends go for. It comes with a little bit of everything, making it perfect for those who want to sample a variety of textures and flavors. Super flavorful, filling, and always hits the spot. * #14: Banh Uot Cuon Thit Nuong (Flour Sheet Rolls Stuffed with BBQ Pork) This one's my personal favorite. I usually skip the sides and just enjoy the rolls as-is -- they're that good. The BBQ pork is juicy and flavorful, and the rolls are soft and light. I eat a lot, and even then, I usually end up saving half for later. * Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls Rolled tight, stuffed generously with meat, and served with a homemade peanut sauce that's creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. These are some of the better spring rolls I've had in Sacramento. Ambiance & Cleanliness: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Don't expect trendy decor or Instagram-worthy aesthetics -- this is a humble, no-nonsense spot that focuses on food over flair. But it's clean, up to code, and the staff is always on top of things -- cleaning tables, bussing dishes, and keeping the space neat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That's something I really respect. Final Thoughts: [[HIGHLIGHT]]This isn't some fancy sit-down restaurant -- it's casual, quick, and all about the food. And honestly? That's exactly what makes it great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has a few standout items that you won't easily find elsewhere in Sacramento, and they do them well. Whether you're rolling solo, with family, or bringing a crew of friends, this place is 100% worth checking out.

Honestly I don't know why it's taken me this long to write a review. Maybe cause the food is so AMAZING each time, it's all I can think of after walking out! I've been going to this spot for years, and every time it absolutely hits the spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is not the most glamorous interior, but it is clean, authentic, and service is polite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's good food without the restaurant faff. I do prefer this location over the Santa Clara one. It is more down to earth, and the dipping sauce tastes better IMO They specialize in bahn cuon, which are rice rolls which come with various fixins. I've tried their different bahn cuon dishes, and I always come back to #11, the combo mixed plate. It is a perfect 10/10 dish full of umami, textures, and fresh elements. Every bite is unique and when you dip it into their fish sauce dipping sauce, with a bit of chili sauce, it is, 'Muah! Chef's kiss.' Despite it coming with a few fried items (sweet potato and shrimp fritter, mung bean ball, and spring roll), it is balanced out by the steamed rolls and cha lua, and fresh veggies, so I never end up feeling weighed down after finishing the plate Also can't ignore dish #51, which is a DIY spring roll platter. It's a huge amount of food, which is perfect for sharing. We love the version with the grilled meat balls. Again, there is a lot going on here, from the large collection of herbs and lettuce, to the fried crunchy element, to the bouncy savoury meatballs, to the sheets of noodles that you can add it. It inspires me to make more spring rolls at home each time. Credit card is accepted. The most difficult part is fighting for parking, especially on the weekends, as there are a lot of other shops in the plaza and Lee's Supermarket

Hungover and craving for Banh cuon. Decided on tay ho since they got Banh cuon and pho. Parking is always a pain in the ass but you'll eventually find a good spot. Seated immediately and ordered Banh cuon spacial, nem nuong roll (mandatory order every time), beef pho (surprisingly really good), and beef stew (very delish). Only complaint is their plates are humongous and takes a lot of space on the table if you're ordering many items but sure make dishes look nice.

    Nem nuong
    Kathryn N.

Got the nem nuong rolls here but the piece of nem nuong was so thin! I wouldn't reorder that again from this location. Other locations like Banh Cuon Bun Moc Ong Ta in Vietnam Town or Banh Xeo Ngon on Silvercreek have better versions of this appetizer with a thicker piece of nem nuong in the roll

I usually order their Bun Bo Hue in a large size so I can enjoy some at the restaurant and still have leftovers to take home later. Service is always quick--you get seated right away, and someone usually takes your order within a minute or two. The food comes out fast, hot, and fresh every time. No matter what time of day I visit, there are always people eating here, which speaks for itself. The broth is incredibly flavorful while still being light and aromatic. Combined with the variety of toppings and fresh vegetables, it's hard not to dig in the moment it hits the table (as you can probably tell from the photo, lol). The restaurant has plenty of seating, making it a great place to bring family and friends. When you're finished eating, you simply walk up to the counter, tell them your table number, and pay. Just keep in mind that they only accept cash or debit cards. If you're looking for a comforting bowl of Bun Bo Hue, especially on a rough morning after a night out, this is definitely the place to go. I will always come back here.

Unfortunately, the service was not very welcoming--the staff came across as blunt, impatient, and at times rude--but I could have overlooked that if the food had fully lived up to the hype. The broth made a good first impression and clearly included many of the right spices, although it was also quite salty. As I got further into the bowl, however, the flavor started to feel flat and lacked the rich, slow-simmered depth I expect from a restaurant that specializes in this dish. It tasted more heavily seasoned than deeply developed, so experienced bún bò Huế fans may find it underwhelming. The meat was also not as tender as I would have liked, and the congealed blood--usually my favorite part--was overcooked and dry rather than smooth and tender. The visible holes suggested it may have been cooked too quickly at too high a temperature. Overall, the meal was decent and had some good flavors, but the broth, meat, and service did not meet my expectations. I can understand why it is popular, but I would probably try another bún bò Huế spot next time.

I ordered their egg rolls and banh beo for catering which came with lots of fresh herbs/lettuce, fish sauce, and other toppings. Pricing was very affordable as well for the quality. I have also frequently gone into their store to enjoy a nice plate of com tam or bun thit nuong which has always been great. They provide their nuoc mam/fish sauce on the table and always are attentive. Restaurant is large and can accommodate a bunch of tables. Parking is also on a big plaza so didn't have trouble parking.

I ordered my usual, Grilled chicken with broken rice. The chicken was very flavorful, but not dry. That's super important. My wife ordered chicken pho, and she liked it as well. The noodles look to be freshly made, and they were quite chewy. The soup base was good (according to her) and flavorful as well. We went with some friends, and they also really enjoyed the food. The chicken wings were also a great hit with everyone!

It's not outstanding, but it's definitely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service ruined the experience. As soon as I sat down, I hadn't even had a chance to look through the whole menu before the server kept touching my shoulder and repeatedly pressured me to order. I found it very rude and uncomfortable because I really don't like strangers touching me. The older lady did it to everyone in our table, and she didn't seem to realize she was making our entire group uncomfortable, and it affected our whole dining experience. So, would I come back? Absolutely not. One visit was more than enough. I'm not willing to deal with that kind of pushy service again.
