Most interactions are friendly, if it is really packed and busy, they could be a bit curt, but I don't mind it. The Noms: honestly so many good foods and snacks here...I'll run by a few of my favorites: *** banh cam: deep fried golden glutinous rice outer shell, filled with sweet mung beans, and covered in white sesame seeds.. my favorite part is the orange sugar crust, it gives the perfect crunch *** Pâté chaud: a savory meat pie, a flaky puff pastry filled with a seasoned mixture of ground pork or ground chicken. Flaky and delicious. *** Che: lots of different kinds... made with an assortment of fruits (logan, jackfruit and lychee), beans (mung beans, red/white kidney beans, etc), and different types of jelly (coconut, grass jelly, etc made from agar agar). These desserts are usually served cold with crushed ice. One of my favorite is Chè Chuối (Coconut Banana Pudding), Chè Sương Sa Hạt Lựu are agar-agar (Sương Sa) and pomegranate seeds (Hạt Lựu), Chè Thái, a sweet, creamy, fruit-cocktail-style soup mixed with jackfruit, lychee, longan, pandan jelly, all soaked in creamy coconut milk, and Chè Đậu Xanh: made from mung beans, pandan and coconut milk In Conclusion: no trip home is complete without a trip with my mom here to grab my favorite noms and snacks. 10/10 would recommend! read more

This location also has a wider variety of food options compared to others, which is a nice plus. The prices are very reasonable (considering cheap in Southern California) and the food is consistently good, no surprise it's quite well-known in the Little Saigon area. It can get pretty busy during after-work hours, so the shop does feel a bit crowded at times. There's no dine-in seating, so it's takeout only. DISHONEST and POOR customer service. Earlier today, I ordered 2 large banh mi and 1 small, expecting to get the Buy 2, Get 1 free promo. I haven't been to this establishment in many years; it was like a new restaurant to me. I wasn't familiar with how things work and how items are reflected on the menus. When questioned why I didn't get one free, I was told that all items had to be the same size to qualify. What would a normal restaurant with any type of customer service do? I 'd expect you to upgrade the small to large and that way the customer can tap into Buy 2, Get 1. Simple. Being in a hurry and comforted with grumpy, not helpful person, I just paid the price for all 3 so I could move on with my life. However, as I was waiting for my food, the more upset I became. It's not about the $6 or whatever the price of a small/large banh mi is at this place. The point is, don't cheat your customers out of a promo just because they weren't clear on how things work even when they directly ask for help/explanation. When I picked up my food, I couldn't help but tell the lady that she was dishonest for charging me for another full sandwich instead of just upgrading the small to a large. She apparently didn't think she did anything wrong bc she mumbled the same inadequate logic that my order had been x, y, z, then walks away while I'm still talking to her. Very rude and poor attitude. Clearly knew exactly what I was talking about and still didn't make any effort to make it right. My family and I used to frequent the location off the corner of Brookhurst and Westminster for their very fresh and affordable banh mi, che, and other Vietnamese pastries. It was my first time visiting this location recently, as I never knew they opened on this end of Westminster off Bolsa. The parking was a bit tedious to find and the plaza doesn't feel all too pedestrian friendly. The little bakery does not have an organized ordering system. You basically wait in line to pay for your banh mi and have to flag staff down to pick out your che. It's absolute chaos. Nonetheless, the deals here are good. We personally enjoy the che. Anyway, I gave my ticket to one of the ladies and never got my drink. When my friend asked them, they said I needed to pay first and give them the ticket... which I already did all of that! Eh... I went back to the front to the lady who collected my money. Luckily, she still remembers me. And I told her they lost my ticket or possibly gave my order to someone else. They were able to give me a new ticket for it. It was such a chaotic experience, esp when they hardly spoke English. Baguettes are usually on point, with a crunchy crust and airy interior. Vegetables are fresh most times, but sometimes way too pickled and acidic, other times basic and bland. The meat quality is usually subpar. So I'll just get the baguettes separately and make my own. Otherwise, my favorite thing here is the banh bo mau (sort of like mini rainbow steamed cupcakes). These multicolored treats have a nice spongy texture and subtle sweetness to them. Iced coffee was fine. I wouldn't order milk tea with boba again. The croissants they make are too flimsy for my preferences, with not enough crisp. Recently I was given Banh Bong Lan, which is a round sponge cake. I liked how light it was. Their bread is the best. Been a customer since 1998. They used to make the best Banh Mi. They have changed the mayonnaise it's sour and no longer has garlic like before. Their pickles have no taste. This place is one of those hidden gems within a shopping center that is not exactly high end or trendy. That being said, when I'm in this area and have time, I make my way here to get a variety of Vietnamese food to go that is good, and inexpensive. It's in the same center where the ABC Supermarket, and Bank of America is at on Bolsa, off Magnolia streets. This bakery makes and labels many of their own foods. Their Ban Mi sandwiches are decent and low priced. They have a lot to offer with both hot foods and cold foods. Their BBQ chicken is great. I would say their egg rolls are probably the lesser item on what is really a large range to choose from. But then if you want, try and see if it's up to your standards of what an egg roll should taste like for you. Their fried rice, which often has either pork or chicken, is pretty good. Their bread products, croissants, etc are a good investment. I'm always pleasantly surprised at what I find here- yesterday I discovered chili flavored mangos in their refrigerated section. The staff yesterday was great, one of the ladies spoke good English and was very friendly and helpful. Honestly, at these small independant mom and pop Vietnamese shops, it's not always that the staff is good with English, and at times they can be rather abrupt or impatient. As a warning, sometimes this place can have this issue too. But normally I do get decent service, and enjoy the food. And their hours are very good, open 7 days a week, and operating early in the morning till the evening. I've taken many friends here, and many of them end up loving this place and coming back again.
