There is one big table with many premade foods available and you can tell, all authentic. I did know what some things were and upon asking, they did not know enough english to say. ITS CASH ONLY! We ordered the bánh mì, fresh spring rolls, bánh ướt, bánh cuốn, fried shrimp cakes, banana sweet soup (chè chuối), and steamed cassava (khoai mì hấp). The bánh mì and fresh spring rolls were good, but they weren't especially memorable for me. The bánh ướt and bánh cuốn had wrappers that were a little too thick for my taste. Personally, I prefer them to be thinner while still soft and chewy. The fried shrimp cakes were a bit firm and weren't as crispy as I expected. My favorite dishes were definitely the banana sweet soup and the steamed cassava. They were both delicious, and I would absolutely come back just for those. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant has been around for a long time, so you can definitely see its age in the interior, but it still has that nostalgic, old-school charm. Tried this for lunch, review only for banh mi as I did not go in person. The ratio for meats look good, wrapping is pretty simple with paper plastic bag and rubber bands. They do take zelle :). Unfortunately, it didnt taste good. The bread was dry and hard, not fresh or fluffy. The pickled vegetables seemed a bit dried out. The cold cut one was okay, but none of the cold cuts had their distinct flavor just a buttery taste. I chose a 6. Grilled beef but ended up getting something that looked similar to the fermented beef (nem chua). The reason for the low rating was that this had huge freezer burn/old food left in the fridge taste. I had to take it out. It reminded me of when you dig through your parents fridge and find that food stuck in the back of the shelf. Overall, it was not fresh. Their spring rolls looked okay, probably sell out fast because by 11 only 2 left. Maybe it was an off day because this place was an authentic recommendation. Banh mi is crunchy with good amount of protein and crunchiness. Very simple and delicious. I do like that their sauce is a tad on the sweeter side compared to other places. It's a very traditional Vietnamese shop. Felt like a kid again walking in here. As for certain Yelpers here with unrealistic standards, I would remind them that this is a small mom and pop shop. I don't think the owner realizes it, but the bananas were boiled way too early (to fulfill the demands) and they are too green still. They need to wait a bit longer (another 2-3 days) for the bananas to ripen up just a bit more. Still one of my favorite banh mi place. My go to order is the banh mi xiu mai + Bi, with extra sauce. The banh mi heo quay is also really good, crunchy pork belly skin with green onions. Those 2 are my favorite and go banh mi. The xiu mai bi with extra sauce banh mi, you have to eat it right away or at home, it gets messy but so worth it. I find that the banh mi here if you eat it right away, its really good, but if you leave it for a few hours, the texture of the bread changes. But overall its delicious. read more

Similar to many Vietnamese eateries, the cup was filled with juice halfway, then the rest filled with ice. Stirred and voila, a perfectly affordable $3 drink. It's in a small corner plaza next to a mini mart and a laundromat, not very exciting and no other interesting restaurants in the plaza unless you go further down the block. Also ordered 3 patechauds (buy 2 get 1 free) at $1.75 each And 5|5 for both. I'm honestly digging the banh mi, they didn't skimp out on the fillings, veggies were fresh and plentiful of pate spread. The patechauds were kept in the glass warmer so they were still crispy and the filling (on the sweeter side which is also my preference) was delicious Service was good. It wasn't busy at all so I was greeted immediately upon entering the store, the ladies at the front were warm and friendly. The silver lining is they will sell you bags of small 3-4 inch sections of baguette at a discount. I guess the banh mis have to be a certain size so they have a lot of these leftover pieces.
