Protein banh mi
Vinh M.

Very small area that shares parking with Rainier Restaurant & BBQ that's nearby. There's hardly any seating inside so do takeout for your orders. Nothing to say on service since you only order up at the counter for this place and Boss Tea that's in the same room. For this place, they offer a wide variety of banh mi sandwiches from your regular grilled pork sandwich to more unique ones like Cantonese BBQ pork, kimchi and roasted pork belly kinds. I actually came here before when this place opened during the peak of the pandemic in 2020 and didn't thoroughly enjoy it. This time around, the quality was a lot better! I got the protein banh mi which had grilled pork, egg and avocado inside. It was extremely filling - which is definitely what I would expect for a protein-filled banh mi - and still had the same great taste as a regular grilled pork banh mi. It's a little heavy on the sauce but I liked that a lot.

Yum! New (to us) spot and it didn't disappoint. Easy parking and it wasn't a scrum trying to order sandwiches. All big pluses. Lots of crispy veggies as well. We're definitely going back. My better half loves the pate and I dig the bbq pork and we were both happy. Give it a whirl and support a small but friendly business.

Roast Duck Bahn Mi

Hot damn, what a sandwich!!! Stopped in for lunch for the first time today, got the Roast Duck Bahn Mi and this might be my new favorite sandwich in Seattle! Cute little space with a very friendly staff, 5 stars doesn't do it justice

Wow! This little shop has it all! So many choices to customize your bahn mi or get one of their menu items. So many good choices. Absolutely delicious! Bread is so good and crunchy and light. The meats were all great only got a pic of the roast duck. We also ordered the roast crispy pork and grilled pork. Big sandwich for a fantastic price! Will definitely get anytime I drive up from airport on way into Seattle!!

I am pretty impressed with this Bahn Mi shop! I wish that the drink menu would have non dairy options like soy, almond, or coconut milk. The sandwiches have been the best I've tried from Marysville to Seattle thus far. The portions of veggie to protein ratio is pretty spot on. BBQ pork Bahn Mi with extra pate and carrots/daikon was tasty as the grilled chicken Bahn Mi. Try it you will be thoroughly satisfied! Things to note: apparently they run out of Bahn Mi (sounds odd I know) we tried to order the yesterday and that's what we were told, and the parking is in the back. Ordering online is easy but communication with the shop can be difficult for those not used to speaking with persons with English as a second language--be patient and kind. They do a great job:)

awesome bahn mi! delicious ingredients, friendly staff, speedy service, and super affordable, will definitely be back!

They're the sweetest. And understanding. I ordered a1 & a5. Store only has a capacity of 6. So please be understanding. The staff are very considerate during the time of covid 19. I'm super grateful that they're opened. In the same building is boss tea as well. It's a phenomenal business as they are super busy. I had my items to go. Bread is crispy and soft in the inside. I love that they use real pate and they don't skimp on it. Fresh ingredients.

Solid Banh Mi taste! Happy they have the pate paste on the bread. Appreciate all the pickled veggies, and nice fluffy crunchy bread. Would only hope that the meat filling would be a tiny bit more! Ordered 2 of the A1 and A2, and the A1 was definitely very light on the meat filling! Would come back to try their other banh options!!

Deluxe banh mi, egg rolls, and the Matcha Devil. Oh so good!

I just moved to the neighborhood and this spot happened to open, how convenient! Ballard disappointed me in regards to banh mi, so I wasn't sure what was going on in Seattle, but found way better spots in the south side, this being one of them. Considering the banh mi are $5-$6, they're a great deal for the price. The bread is on point, and so far my favorite has been the crispy pork one. Now the drinks are delish as well, quite tall, and you can ask for less ice if you wish, in general all the drinks I've tried have been great!.

Man, I want to like this place. I hear nothing but good things from friends and family. But my experience didn't seem to be like theirs. Not impressed with the first impression. Customer service fell short for me. Called in an order and had to repeat the order to multiple people numerous of times. When came to pick up the order, they were really disorganized. With such a small space, they didn't seem to enforce how many people can be inside the establishment. The Hurricane Matcha is good, make sure you add the cheese foam. It has a strong taste of matcha, they definitely didn't skimp. The sandwiches is just okay for something that's more expensive than an average banh mi. Stick with the bbq pork and roast pork, those are good. I will check back...again...one day.

Most places that advertise BBQ usually have roasted pork, ducks, and other meats displayed in the front window, but this restaurant doesn't, making it less noticeable. Don't let that fool you--this place is very popular. I discovered it by stopping in, and later found out that both Anthony Bourdain and Mike Chen have visited. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is outstanding. My favorite dish is the giant crispy catfish served with vermicelli and a delicious dipping sauce. The grilled conch is also excellent and definitely worth ordering. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food with great service, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

They only had a 6.5 pound one left for the day, the our server let us know ahead of time. It was definitely a show stopper. Loved being able to make our own spring rolls. I'd definitely come again!

Loved the elasticity and chewy texture; it wasn't very sticky like other beef tendon I've had. If I come back next time, I'll just get a whole thing of tendon. At the end of the meal, you go up to a counter in the back to pay the bill.

The food at Pho Bac is pretty consistently solid, just as it was when I last reviewed it in 2019…read more The menu has not changed much, and most of the beloved dishes that made this place popular are still here. This most recent visit, I had the bun bo hue, which has very tasty broth and blood tofu. The beef ribs in the soup honestly don't come with much meat on them. I feel like I spent a while trying to scrape a pretty meager amount of meat from the bones. Their spring rolls are delicious, and their peanut sauce is one of my favorites I also had the whiskey sour, which was delicious. Loved the pandan flavor. Here are a couple things that you should note. This is effectively not a full service restaurant. They'll come to your table to take your order and drop off your food, but after that you are pretty much on your own. Pacing of courses is not really a thing, and you may very well get your mains and your appetizers and your drinks all at once. Once your food is all on the table, don't expect to be checked on -- if you need water refills, want to order more, or have an issue, you will need to wave someone down. At the end of your meal, you go up to the counter at the end of the bar to pay, with a receipt that they give you when you place your initial order. This is not necessarily a problem, per se, but just know what you can/can't expect here. One thing that I do feel is an actual problem is their carelessness about vegetarian orders. I am an omnivore, but my husband is vegetarian. The last two times I've been here, they've managed to put meat in his vegetarian order. Once, he ordered vegetarian pho, and they brought him pho with vegetables in it but in a beef broth. This most recent time, in his vegetarian dry pho with vegetarian broth, he found a few small pieces of meat in his bowl that he then passed on to me. It's disappointingly careless and the fact that it's happened twice now definitely makes us less likely to come here, and less likely to recommend this place to people who have dietary restrictions. Overall, I still like this place and might come sometimes, but it's unfortunate that the tastiness of their food is not matched by a similar level of attention to detail toward the diner's experience.

It's still a solid spot for me even two years after I first tried it. I normally get the regular pho tai with a cup of jasmine tea (which is only $2)! Service is exceptionally fast and was sat immediately - the staff are very kind. I did not take a picture of it but I ordered a vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and shrimp fresh rolls to go after my visit. They were both very flavorful and I recommend anything off their menu - it's delicious and worth the effort to dine in but not the right place if you want to chit chat and dilly dally. There's plenty of parking outside in the strip mall which shares a lot with QFC. Seating is limited and there are often wait times around peak meal hours, recommend going 1-2hrs off those times to have a better chance at getting sat sooner! 10/10 recommend

Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Service has declined significantly. Not only is there still a long wait for a table, but there is also an extended wait for food after you're seated. It was disappointing to watch takeout orders consistently prioritized over customers dining in the restaurant, making dine-in guests feel like an afterthought and reflecting poor management. Combined with the restaurant's recent "OK" health department rating, we've decided not to return. If you're looking for a pleasant dining experience with attentive service, you may want to consider other options.

Fast forward a year later to a Sunday at 12:30pm and I finally made the long drive here without going through Aurora Ave since my GPS randomly decided to give my road rage some grace. This place has plenty parking around the perimeter, so it was easy settling in. Only confusion was finding the entrance to this place, but when I did I was actually surprised where I was stepping into. Inside is laid back and cool with plenty of seating for groups of various sizes. There's tables and booths, and I got booth seating for myself when I walked in. There's a TV playing sports nearby where I was, and Vietnamese pop music was playing in the background too. Menu consists of regular foods in most Vietnamese restaurants, though their provincial noodle soups and banh mi sandwiches caught my eye. They even have bún măng vịt (duck and bamboo shoot noodle soup), my favorite that I gotta try next time I come here! From my IG feeds and as a starting point, I got their bánh mì thịt heo nướng (grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich), which comes with all the works of a regular banh mi sandwich, though I was kinda surprised how brightly orange the grilled pork was. Regardless, it was tasty and the meat was juicy. The pork pate added a nice savory touch to the sandwich, and no other condiment was in excess that it took away taste from the flavorful grilled pork. Staff was very kind throughout, and refilled my water every now and then. It was also nice chatting with one of them about our day and other recommendations from the menu. There's so much to have on their menu so I need to make the drive here again to have more of their stuff!

We got the banh uot tower with heo quay, banh khot, banh mi chao, and com tam. I see the appeal of the eye catching banh uot tower, but unfortunately I felt like it was very mediocre. I felt like the portion of veggie and meat wasn't enough for all the rice rolls, plus the actual heo quay was dry with barely any crispy skin. I think they also forgot to give us the heo quay because we had to ask for it much after the banh uot came out. I would skip this next time. I would also skip the banh khot as it was on the softer, chewier side when my personal preference is light and crispy. Those who do like it soft will definitely enjoy it though. As for flavor, it had an extremely prominent coconut taste- it usually isn't so strong in banh khot so I wasn't so fond of this. My family did really enjoy the com tam and banh mi chao. I only had one bite of each, but I would get these items again. Their drinks on the other hand, were delightful. I got the tamarind black tea and my step dad got the lychee green tea.
