    BBQ Pork Bahn Mi

    This place is clearly a local spot! The lady that took my order was very sweet and confirmed it with me. The bahn mis were delicious and they came out really quickly too. They also have a market area where you can buy their Demi baguette for $5.50 and around 3:30 people came pouring in the door to clear them out. For ambiance it's very busy and popular! There's nowhere to sit but the sandwiches were really well packaged to go so I was fine with take out.

    First off i'd love to rate this place at least a 3.5 out of 5. Anyways, I came to grab a Bahn Mi at this place because I'm still on the search for a go to Bahn Mi place in the greater Seattle area. One that's cost effective while also providing that flavor that I'm familiar with. Cost of a Bahn Mi is decently priced around 8-9 dollars or so. I got the grilled pork Bahn mi Texture of the baguette has that crispy with a flaky crust texture. This one doesn't cut the roof of your mouth like typical baguettes do and it has some softness to its flesh. Accoutrements are layered and have that classic flavor profile I like. Only thing that fell a little short was the amount of grilled pork. The unique thing I noticed as well was their grilled pork was sliced thinly. In comparison to the BBQ pork that my friend got. They had a larger portion of BBQ pork on their Bahn mi. This place also has some grab and go Asian baked goods. One that I tried was a fried bread with sesame seeds. It reminded me of the sesame balls at dim sum places without the red bean paste. Also was way larger and had tons of surface area in comparison to a sesame ball. All in all. I may consider giving them another try because their BBQ pork Bahn mi did look good. Establishment is nothing too fancy I think it's equatable to other Bahn mi spots I've been to.

    The Bakery makes bread for banh mi. As soon as you drive in to the parking lot, you immediately smell the wonderful aroma of fresh baked bread in the air! My favorite is the butter bread! It's like a big croissant, so good, so buttery! It sells out quickly, so get there early (opens at 6am) if you want to get some. Customers come in and purchase bags of bread rolls. They also have assorted pastries, banh mi, smoothies, coffee and vietnamese snacks.

    Hands down the BEST place to get banh mi in south Seattle. The fresh bread makes all the difference. Everything is super affordable for the quality and amount of food. Plus they have a huge parking lot so it's easy to grab things and go.

    Located in the back part of a has-been tiny shopping center having a parking lot with failing pavement, Q Bakery is a great little bakery featuring good bánh mì, great pâté chaud, and lots of fresh-baked rolls. It is popular -- having a line is the norm, despite the somewhat obscure location -- and there's good reason for that. The staff is friendly and helpful (and very busy), and the bánh mì are good, with many varieties to choose from. Most of the customers are local, and a great many of them are Vietnamese -- a testimony to the authenticity of their food, and the reasonable prices too. It is obvious that many delis and restaurants get their bread (for bahn mi and other things) at Q Bakery, and indeed their rolls probably set the standard for bánh mì in Seattle (Vietnamese style, rather than French or American style). Why a 4-star and not a five? Because this is a solidly good place, but there are other many other establishments where the bánh mì are good too.

    We were recommended by family to try Q Bakery since we were craving for banh mi! It definitely did not disappoint. The banh mi ga (chicken) and dac biet (original) were really tasty. The original was $6.25 and the chicken was $5.50, which is a great price, seeing that a lot of banh mi shops in Portland sell them for around $7-9 now. We tried the banh mi, banh bao, pate chaud, nem nuong (meatball) and bought some baguettes. Our favorites were the banh mi for sure and the banh bao was really good too! They had a banh bao deal, so you could buy 4 baos for $15. Our least favorite was the pate chaud because it just didn't come with a lot of meat. We saw a lot of people coming in and out of the restaurant around 9:30 AM, so we knew it's a hot spot for Vietnamese sandwiches! We'd love to come back again for the banh mi when we're in the area.

    I stopped by when I was in the area and wanted to pick up a quick lunch. Q Bakery was pretty busy on a random weekday at 12, but the food came out quickly. They sell fresh baguettes and other bread/pastry items there that locals seemed to love and were buying in bulk. I tried the grilled pork banh mi ($6.25), which tasted really fresh and was delicious! I also had the Vietnamese iced coffee, which was very strong and not too sweet compared to others I've tried. Service was not amazing, but kind of to be expected for this type of place. Overall, would recommend if you're looking to buy inexpensive lunch for yourself or many others!

    In the neighborhood and was picking up a sandwich for a friend. Since I saw the guy bagging the rolls non stop in the back I knew the bread was going to be fresh. I was going to be standing around waiting for one sandwich so i figured I'd get myself one as well. It wouldn't look good if I bit my friend's sandwich just to try it A little confusing on where to stand. Order your sandwich from the window deeper in. The window up front is for phone orders and purchases of the bagged bread. They do a great business of the sandwich rolls and smaller ones. The bag of 6 was $3.25, maybe a dozen of the smaller ones was $5. I saw a guy from Smarty Pants pick up 150 rolls! Sandwich was good - toss up on whether I'd want a $7 banh mi with less meat, or a more packed sandwich from my neighborhood for $14.

    The bread here is so fresh, light, and airy, perfect for banh mis! Value wise, Q bakery is tough to beat at $5.50 for a sandwich! I ordered their combo banh mi and it was very satisfying. Includes pate, mayo, cilantro, jalapeño, pickled veggies, and a fair amount of meat. Just wish it had more of the pickled veggies or cilantro. Overall, would recommend!

    Wandered in while waiting for my Vientiane Grocery order to be prepared. Grabbed some delicious pate chaud and wanted some pandan honeycomb cake and fresh baguettes but it was very close to closing so they were out. Will have to come back to try the banh mi.

For the quality, I thought that was a really good value. I order vanilla lattes everywhere I go, and this one was fantastic. The space itself is also pretty large -- we were able to find seating easily even on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Seattle. It was very crowded, but still found a spot and the long line went by quickly. I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're visiting Seattle!

The vibe felt somewhat formal and not the cozy local bakery vibe I enjoyed at other spots in Seattle. The hardest part about visiting Pike Place is that there is so much to choose from and so much competition. Are there better bakeries? Probably. Is Le Panier great and easily accessible on the main strip of Pike Place? Yes. That fact makes it a great choice for your pastry needs.

Through several visits: Baguette, Large ($7.95) - Great baguette with bubbling golden exterior complete with the perfectly baked crust even after waiting 3 hours before cutting in and eating. The interior has the perfect moisture level and is delightfully soft and chewy. The taste overall has a deep developed flavor. This is a great baguette. The only problem - the price. I can find ones for half the price that are maybe 80% as good as this one. (5/5) Seasonal Biscuit ($4.50) - This biscuit definitely isn't Southern-style. It's more of a drop biscuit, combining a relatively soft and tender interior with a nice exterior crust, without any flakiness or layering. The interior is almost cake-like in texture and crumb, and is plenty moist. They add plenty of fresh black pepper inside. It's distributed very evenly, giving a peppery bite with every mouthful. Parmesan is added to the top of the biscuit before baking, giving plenty of umami and richness but only on the upper layer. (4/5) Green Vinaigrette Cafeteria Style Pizza ($6.25) - The pizza is kept under a warming lamp, so it starts getting a little dried out after I assume a couple of hours spent there. I do love the base though - it's focaccia-like giving a really crunchy dark golden brown crust underneath, which supports the toppings. The pizza slice has lots of structural integrity and doesn't flop over. There's a base of fragrant concentrated tomato paste-like flavor which is topped with a very even layer of cheese. Since it's warmed rather than freshly baked, the cheese starts congealing a bit. The cheese is peppered with parsley, garlic, and a bunch of mustard seeds, giving a special zing. The toppings go all the way to the sides of the pie, making it great for people who dislike crust. Even though it's cafeteria style pizza that's kept under heat lamps, I quite liked it. I wonder if I can get a really fresh slice if I get there right at 11AM when lunch starts. (5/5) Chocolate Croissant ($6.10) - Great lamination with a very aesthetic honeycomb pattern. Baked on the harder side, causing fantastic crispy flaky layers to flake off, but also creating a darker golden brown character that is on the verge of bitterness. Nicely buttery soft and chewy interior. Chocolate is a darker variety, probably somewhere around 70%, so it has a pleasing balanced sweetness and chocolate flavor. It's not typical baton, instead seems to be a section from a bar. Still warm and melty even through I didn't eat the croissant until ~30 minutes after purchasing. When cooled down further, some red fruity notes start appearing, so this seems to be be pretty high quality. (5/5) White Sourdough ($12.60) - Now this is a loaf of bread. Superb crust, probably 2 or 3 times as thick compared to competitors, creating a supreme crusty bite with a chew approaching a hard crunch with almost caramelized molasses notes on the bottom. The interior is moist and tender with a pleasing slight sourdough tang. It's a superb piece of craftsmanship. (5/5) Kouign Amann ($5.80) - This is another heavier bake with some acridity development on the top surface. Unlike many other bakeries where the kouign amann is basically a differently shaped croissant with sugar glaze, Sea Wolf's version feels more in line with tradition. The crumb is denser and richer, more like brioche. There's interesting black speckling inside which I believe is due to the inclusion of espresso powder given the mild coffee-like flavor. The crust is again baked hard, but it's lighter and not as flaky as the croissant. They sprinkle just a bit of salt on top of a very light caramelized sugar glaze. It's not very sweet and I didn't find it too salty unlike some other reviewers. (5/5) Plain Focaccia Slice ($4.80) - Good quality olive oil, some salt sprinkled on top to boost the flavors. Light and airy interior, but the exterior is a little wan, being more light golden brown and lacking some good crusty crisp especially on the fried bottom. Quite oily. (4/5) Sea Wolf gives out free sourdough starter, which can be requested from the cashier. Since picking it up several weeks ago, I've gone through several feed/bake cycles for making sourdough focaccia. I've visited Sea Wolf 3 or 4 times in the last month. That's a testament to how high quality their pastries and breads are. I think the only thing stopping me from visiting more is thanks to the starter I got from them fanning my baking instincts. I bake so much now that I don't have any need to buy their bread! Note: Sea Wolf charges a 3% credit card fee. This is not noted on their menu - it only appears in the POS right before paying. They also had savory selections (seasonal flavors). Overall, a cult favorite, easily accessible, with consistent quality across pastries. Friendly staff, and plenty of outdoor seating.

Rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, it easily stood out as one of the highlights of the visit and something I won't forget anytime soon. Overall, Dahlia Bakery delivered great food, a relaxing atmosphere, and an outstanding dessert. Since I was only in Seattle briefly for business, I'm not sure when I'll be back, but I'm glad I had the chance to experience it.

I'm a big fan of the horchata brioche donut, so that's what I recommend you try. The pastries are reasonably priced and freshly made, and if you don't like things that are too sweet they will be perfect for you. I think the only complaint I've had is the drinks the barista has made can be very hit or miss, especially once with Chai I had. I ordered a 16oz iced oat milk mocha and loved how perfectly the chocolate was incorporated into my drink! It tasted sweet and the coffee added the robust flavour I love in my mochas My boyfriend had never tried a Moroccan Fog before and he loved how sweet it was without him having to add sugar. He especially loved that it had just the right amount of mint flavoring without being toothpaste For breakfast, I ordered their fruit danish! I love that they had different options of fruit to pick from and I chose blueberry! The pastry was perfectly flaky and I loved how fresh the blueberry tasted. My boyfriend ordered the chocolate croissant because he was excited at the idea of the chocolate being piped through the croissant and also drizzled over the top, but it turns out the dark brown parts on top are just design and not more chocolate. Still, he was pleased with the amount of chocolate in the croissant and the bite I had was heavenly. The champagne cake caught my eye as I was ordering and I just had to try a bite, it was absolutely delicious and fresh. I loved how light the cake was and the layers of flavour through the whole dessert! I love how bright and airy the cafe is! My boyfriend and I were easily able to find seating by the windows and enjoyed the gorgeous view of the space needle and people watching as we shared breakfast. The staff here was also patient and welcoming. We'll definitely have to come back and try more of their pastries!!

All the pastries except for the regular butter croissant were available, and we were able to place an order for the kimchi focaccia and sakura swiss roll, which were slated to come out around 10am. Service was super friendly! I got the hojicha latte, the okonomiyaki frittata, black sesame cookie, kimchi focaccia, and sakura swiss roll. The hojicha latte was rich and earthy in the best way, and it went really well with the black sesame cookie, which had a great strong sesame flavor, and the texture was perfectly chewy! The focaccia was pillowy and chewy at the same - I could've eaten five of these on their own. The frittata was my least favorite item, but by no means am I saying that it's bad! I thought the sauces overpowered it a bit, and the frittata itself was a bit bland - I couldn't even tell it had sweet potato in it, but it was cooked really well. There was ample seating in the heated patio, but parking was a little confusing, though we got lucky with the small lot right next to the store. There were a lot of signs that said no parking along the street in front, but it seemed like a lot of cars were parked there?

    Saint Bread is one of those spots that just gets it right. Everything feels intentional and well executed with a balance of simple and elevated. It is the kind of place where you end up ordering more than you planned because everything looks so good. It can get busy especially on weekends but it is still worth it. Between the quality of the food and the inviting atmosphere it is an easy go to for a casual but elevated coffee and pastry stop.
