We've been wanting to try this spot and wow, amazing! Their portions are HUGE. It took awhile for the food to come, but we were in no rush anyway. It was also the lunch hour. They have a pretty large menu too so I'm sure we'll come back to try more things next time. Service was good. There's also plenty of parking.

A bottle of wine on the house and a giant bowl of delicious, heart-warming pho. 888 Pan Asian treated us like family and I had one of my favorite meals from my visit to Austin! The menu is extensive, but everything our table ordered was delicious, with layers of flavor and giant portions. The owner (I think) came by and gave us this bottle of wine on the house just out of kindness. Truly made our meal memorable and seriously cannot recommend enough!

Been coming here for 10+ years. Wide variety of pan Asian options, and never had a bad meal here. I bring lots of out of towners and nobody's ever complained!

You know a restaurant is good when you pull up and it is PACKED, always a good sign! This Vietnamese restaurant did not disappoint. We were craving pho and decided to give this place a try so we ordered to go. This place must be the go to spot as it was very crowded and there were people waiting outside. We only tried the pho but from what I understand there are lots of options on the menu. We enjoyed this place so much that we actually got pho again the next day

First time here Love the name by the way! The food is so tasty and very generous in portions. I had the tom kah and the steam dumplings, my friend had the pho. The sauces are spectacular, I really enjoyed this lunch more than I can say. Everything looked amazing, too bad I was not as hungry but everything I had was delicious! They said their coffee is fantastic, will have to come back to try it.

Their shrimp fried rice is good but idk if it's 9.75 good for the amount they gave

Triple 8 is great. I've been ordering from here I Since at least 2013. Can't go wrong with their shrimp fried rice. Their combination fried rice is good too, but since I love shrimp, I think that's the best

This is great ATX staple. They have pretty good food all around with very large portions for almost everything. I have gotten takeout and have dinner in as well. I truly enjoy their Tom Kha soup even though they are some kinda chili oil that makes it orange instead of the traditional white. Still pretty tasty though. Prices are decent for the size of the plates. The service is always very friendly and attentive and they seem to know a lot of the regulars. Pretty decor with bright colors. Never too loud even though it's always full.

888 Pan Asian Restaurant is my go-to for authentic Asian cuisine. You enter the restaurant and go back in time with the Asian decor. The menu is expansive with so many options to choose from. I usually order my food to-go and it is always prepared quickly and accurately. This visit, we decided to dine in and were seated at a booth. The service was friendly and efficient. They also have expansive operating hours and are open late. We started with the Vietnamese Egg roll appetizer that was served on a bed of veggies with a side salad garnish that had a great flavor. My only comment about this dish is it could have used a sweet chili or sweet and sour dipping sauce. I ordered my usual, the Grilled Pork and Egg roll vermicelli. The portion size of the dishes are very generous. It came with fresh veggies and fish sauce to add on top. The pork and egg rolls are so flavorful. I couldn't finish the dish in one setting. Also ordered the Pho with meatballs that was served with fresh herbs like basil, bean sprouts and jalapeño. Neither of us finished our meals and packed up the leftovers to take home for another meal. Definitely a go-to for Asian cuisine with consistent and high quality menu options.

Super underrated spot for a yummy, comforting asian meal! We walked in on Saturday night (2 people) and had about a 15 minute wait. I got their veggie rolls to start and they were really flavorful and had a great, crispy texture. My boyfriend got the crab rangoons and scrafed them all down! I tend to order fried rice or lo mein so I wanted to get something different for my main. I ended up getting the veggie egg noodle soup with vegetable broth - HUGE portion! You definitely need to add some of the seasonings they bring on the side to bring out the flavor (cilantro, bean sprouts), it was super comforting and filling.

All these years, and 888 just keeps delivering. Affordably priced, huge portions, and attentive staff. They have changed the menu over the years, but consistently keep their prices consistent and have something for literally everyone on the menu. We decided to switch it up a bit this time and were incredibly pleased. When I saw the duck taco on the menu, I assumed it was going to be a single (slightly expensive) taco but wanted to give it a try. Only to find out that it was not 1, but three! With the amount of meat, you probably could have stuffed 2 large tacos, but regardless, it was filled with flavor and a nice switch up. Topped off with a beef pad Thai, enough to feed three people. All around a successful meal.

The food is so delicious and there is so much to choose from! It can get over-populated during rush times which sometimes service is not the greatest.

What a great find. The staff is lovely and the food is solid. The place looks like it's straight out of a movie even. The salt and pepper chicken is solid, the drunken devil is also. The sugar steak appetizer is an acquired taste, but quite well prepared.

I've been here a few times and always love their Lo Mein--it's seriously one of the best around. This time I dropped in for lunch and tried some different dishes. The chicken satay was awesome--juicy, flavorful, and the sauce was spot on. The spring rolls (both veggie and shrimp) were just okay. Nothing bad, just kind of average. What really stood out was the Panang curry lamb chop--so good! Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. I'd definitely order that again We finished with the mango sticky rice. The rice part was great, but the mango just wasn't ripe or sweet enough, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, still a favorite spot and worth going back for the hits on the menu.

Does it do delivery ? if so where can i place the order?

Sorry, delivery is not yet available. However, takeout is possible.

Are they doing their MWF lunch buffet again?

    Um. No. It's TBD

Do I really have to make reservations for lunch? I called the restaurant and they said it was first come, first serve.

They don't take reservations. It is first come, first served.

    Are there any vegan options?

There is section called vegetable corner on their menu. :-)

So I just ordered dinner to go from these guys and I'm confused. The menu said the price would be under 20 dollars. The lady on the phone says it's 28$. Do they have special prices that aren't on the website or do they need to update their shit?

I'm confused. Did you add up the individual prices of the dishes you ordered and it came out under $20? So the lady on the phone said $28? This is a question for 888 as to the price discrepancy, right?

Do you serve Egg Fu Young?

    Yes

    Is it BYOB?

No, they sell wine and beer

What are the lunch buffet hours?

    M-W-F 11am-2pm Only

After landing in San Antonio yesterday to kick off my summer vacation, the very first thing I did…read moretoday was ask my friend to bring me back to this restaurant. The reason is simple: we ate here two years ago, and it left such a great impression on us that we had been looking forward to coming back ever since. Fortunately, not much has changed in terms of either the quality or the overall presentation of the food. Everything is still delicious, especially the Pho Combo. To be honest, it's far better than most of the pho we've had in Germany. That doesn't mean the pho in Germany is bad--it simply means this place matches my personal taste much better. As for the downsides, they're almost exactly the same as before. Parking is still a major challenge, and I understand that's probably not something the restaurant can easily fix. We also tried calling ahead to reserve a table, but they don't take reservations, whether you're coming with a group of 5-7 people or just 2-3 people. We arrived at 6:45 PM and still had to wait about 40 minutes before being seated, which was honestly quite inconvenient. Coincidentally, there was live music tonight, which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the sound system wasn't very good, so it was difficult to hear what the singers were performing. Then again, this isn't really the type of venue where people come specifically to enjoy live music, so most diners didn't seem to pay much attention to it. One thing I did notice was that either the kitchen has made a few changes over the past two years, or perhaps my own taste has changed a little. The food felt slightly saltier than I remembered, and the pho broth was richer and creamier. While that added some depth of flavor, it was a bit too rich for my liking, to the point where finishing the entire bowl of broth felt a little overwhelming. The braised short ribs were incredibly tender--so tender that a knife was almost unnecessary, and they could easily be pulled apart with just a fork. While many people would probably see that as a positive, I actually missed the slightly firmer, meatier texture I remembered from my last visit. That said, these are relatively minor issues. The quality may have dipped just a little compared to our previous visit, but this is still an excellent restaurant. If they can fine-tune those small details, it would easily return to being one of my favorite places. There's a good chance we'll stop by one more time before heading back to Germany.

Is it that time of year for another 1618 update? Absolutely…read more After my umpteenth visit, I think it's safe to say I've worked my way through almost the entire menu (minus a few noodle, chicken & vegetarian dishes). My 2025 review still stands, but after so many visits, I've noticed a few items haven't been good as they used to, particularly the chicken wings (and yes, all three of them). The Garlic Wings haven't been hitting quite the same. They've started to taste a little dry, and the saucier wings taste better the next day since they don't have time to steep through once served. The Filet Mignon Pepper Steak is still my favorite dish on the menu, but I still can't justify ordering it family-style anymore. It's delicious, but the portion just doesn't match the price. One of the newest additions--the Truffle Fried Rice is spectacular. It's light, not overpowering with truffle, and the fish eggs really adds the perfect little pop of texture/flavor. I don't think I breathed the entire time I scarfed it down!! 1618 is still one of my favorite restaurants in Austin of all time, but I think it's time for the menu to elevate a bit and dive deeper into less mainstream Asian cuisine. If anyone can do it, 1618 can.

Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere. It's also on the pricier side. Still, if in central Austin I think it's a solid choice for Thai food.
