A bottle of wine on the house and a giant bowl of delicious, heart-warming pho. 888 Pan Asian treated us like family and I had one of my favorite meals from my visit to Austin! The menu is extensive, but everything our table ordered was delicious, with layers of flavor and giant portions. The owner (I think) came by and gave us this bottle of wine on the house just out of kindness. Truly made our meal memorable and seriously cannot recommend enough!

You know a restaurant is good when you pull up and it is PACKED, always a good sign! This Vietnamese restaurant did not disappoint. We were craving pho and decided to give this place a try so we ordered to go. This place must be the go to spot as it was very crowded and there were people waiting outside. We only tried the pho but from what I understand there are lots of options on the menu. We enjoyed this place so much that we actually got pho again the next day

Their shrimp fried rice is good but idk if it's 9.75 good for the amount they gave

Triple 8 is great. I've been ordering from here I Since at least 2013. Can't go wrong with their shrimp fried rice. Their combination fried rice is good too, but since I love shrimp, I think that's the best

First time here Love the name by the way! The food is so tasty and very generous in portions. I had the tom kah and the steam dumplings, my friend had the pho. The sauces are spectacular, I really enjoyed this lunch more than I can say. Everything looked amazing, too bad I was not as hungry but everything I had was delicious! They said their coffee is fantastic, will have to come back to try it.

This is great ATX staple. They have pretty good food all around with very large portions for almost everything. I have gotten takeout and have dinner in as well. I truly enjoy their Tom Kha soup even though they are some kinda chili oil that makes it orange instead of the traditional white. Still pretty tasty though. Prices are decent for the size of the plates. The service is always very friendly and attentive and they seem to know a lot of the regulars. Pretty decor with bright colors. Never too loud even though it's always full.

888 Pan Asian Restaurant is my go-to for authentic Asian cuisine. You enter the restaurant and go back in time with the Asian decor. The menu is expansive with so many options to choose from. I usually order my food to-go and it is always prepared quickly and accurately. This visit, we decided to dine in and were seated at a booth. The service was friendly and efficient. They also have expansive operating hours and are open late. We started with the Vietnamese Egg roll appetizer that was served on a bed of veggies with a side salad garnish that had a great flavor. My only comment about this dish is it could have used a sweet chili or sweet and sour dipping sauce. I ordered my usual, the Grilled Pork and Egg roll vermicelli. The portion size of the dishes are very generous. It came with fresh veggies and fish sauce to add on top. The pork and egg rolls are so flavorful. I couldn't finish the dish in one setting. Also ordered the Pho with meatballs that was served with fresh herbs like basil, bean sprouts and jalapeño. Neither of us finished our meals and packed up the leftovers to take home for another meal. Definitely a go-to for Asian cuisine with consistent and high quality menu options.

Super underrated spot for a yummy, comforting asian meal! We walked in on Saturday night (2 people) and had about a 15 minute wait. I got their veggie rolls to start and they were really flavorful and had a great, crispy texture. My boyfriend got the crab rangoons and scrafed them all down! I tend to order fried rice or lo mein so I wanted to get something different for my main. I ended up getting the veggie egg noodle soup with vegetable broth - HUGE portion! You definitely need to add some of the seasonings they bring on the side to bring out the flavor (cilantro, bean sprouts), it was super comforting and filling.

The food is so delicious and there is so much to choose from! It can get over-populated during rush times which sometimes service is not the greatest.

All these years, and 888 just keeps delivering. Affordably priced, huge portions, and attentive staff. They have changed the menu over the years, but consistently keep their prices consistent and have something for literally everyone on the menu. We decided to switch it up a bit this time and were incredibly pleased. When I saw the duck taco on the menu, I assumed it was going to be a single (slightly expensive) taco but wanted to give it a try. Only to find out that it was not 1, but three! With the amount of meat, you probably could have stuffed 2 large tacos, but regardless, it was filled with flavor and a nice switch up. Topped off with a beef pad Thai, enough to feed three people. All around a successful meal.

This place made is very disappointing experience on Easter. I was first and last time. I was excited for my order was taken, but after waiting 41 minutes, my food never came.I watched multiple larger groups from different races who arrived after me get their food while I was completely overlooked. No updates, no check-ins.It honestly made me feel like I was being treated differently. I see they look at me multiple times and I ended up leaving without eating and the management wouldn't say they're wrong for what they done. I wouldn't recommend coming here.

What a great find. The staff is lovely and the food is solid. The place looks like it's straight out of a movie even. The salt and pepper chicken is solid, the drunken devil is also. The sugar steak appetizer is an acquired taste, but quite well prepared.

I've been here a few times and always love their Lo Mein--it's seriously one of the best around. This time I dropped in for lunch and tried some different dishes. The chicken satay was awesome--juicy, flavorful, and the sauce was spot on. The spring rolls (both veggie and shrimp) were just okay. Nothing bad, just kind of average. What really stood out was the Panang curry lamb chop--so good! Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. I'd definitely order that again We finished with the mango sticky rice. The rice part was great, but the mango just wasn't ripe or sweet enough, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall, still a favorite spot and worth going back for the hits on the menu.

First time back in 10 years & nothing has changed, in a good way! Plenty of seating, and to make things more plentiful, the menu! Typically a massive menu, and multiple cuisines are a red flag but pls don't cave in because everything we had here is delicious. Ordered the Bangkok Wings, Papaya Shrimp Salad (NOT Thai version), Panang Red Curry & Yellow Curry We got the Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. Good, but felt there could have been a bigger portion. The salad was refreshing and well balanced The curries were not overwhelming but aromatic w/ the herbs and coconut Bangkok wings were super savory Big shoutout to the service as there's plenty of staff to go around and all took turns going around asking if anything was needed Only one tv and it was kinda hidden behind the counter so that was kind of nice for the ambiance. Will be back!

Does it do delivery ? if so where can i place the order?

Sorry, delivery is not yet available. However, takeout is possible.

Are they doing their MWF lunch buffet again?

    Um. No. It's TBD

Do I really have to make reservations for lunch? I called the restaurant and they said it was first come, first serve.

They don't take reservations. It is first come, first served.

    Are there any vegan options?

There is section called vegetable corner on their menu. :-)

So I just ordered dinner to go from these guys and I'm confused. The menu said the price would be under 20 dollars. The lady on the phone says it's 28$. Do they have special prices that aren't on the website or do they need to update their shit?

I'm confused. Did you add up the individual prices of the dishes you ordered and it came out under $20? So the lady on the phone said $28? This is a question for 888 as to the price discrepancy, right?

Do you serve Egg Fu Young?

    Yes

    Is it BYOB?

No, they sell wine and beer

What are the lunch buffet hours?

    M-W-F 11am-2pm Only

I ordered hot and sour pork soup. I had never had hot and sour soup with meat. Portions were generous, ingredients fresh, and the food arrived smoking hot. The cumin seeds give it that signature earthy, aromatic flavor and you get a slight tingly numbing spice sensation from the chilis and peppercorn. The lamb is not overly gamey, but it still does taste like lamb so if you are not really a lamb fan, I'd choose something else. - Jumping Fish: A very popular dish! Tender white fish fillets that is so soft it melts in your mouth. It is in a flavorful oil and broth that is refreshing from the fresh jalapenos. It is a savory dish, yet still relatively mild. It commes with napa cabbage as well! This was my favorite dish and I loved the flavor combined with the white rice. - Mapo Tofu (Vegetarian): They have one with pork as well, but I got the vegetarian version. Silky soft tofu cubes in that signature mapo tofu sauce and numbing peppercorns. Despite the appearance of all the dishes, none of them were very spicy. Overall, a comforting soft, spicy, savory dish with a slight tingle. - Eggplant in garlic sauce: A deliciously sweet and umami garlic sauce. The eggplants could have been a bit more cooked through in my opinion though since it was still quite firm. I loved it still! Note that all the dishes to me were not spicy just had an underlying subtle spice or tingle (like a finishing flavor note if you will). Also, since it is sichuan the dishes are on the oilier side. You order with the cashier at the front and pay up front as well. Food comes out quickly. It is a small space with three rows of tables (maybe around 12-15 tables give or take), so it does fill up fast. It's a quiet little place, but it's quick to fill up. I sat in the right hand corner which is tucked off. I like my spot cause I felt like I was in a noir vibe. So here's a quick lil announcement though. The wait for the apps was short, but the wait for my main dish was 15-20 minutes I don't think my wait is Normally that long but just a heads up. This is the cost of cheap but great quality food. For the appetizers I got the spicy shrimp and the steam chicken dumplings. They both came out really hot so be careful lol. Man the spicy shrimp was very delicious and spicy! But not too spicy for me because I'm use to it but if you're not a spicy veteran this does have a good kick. I loved the sauce and the lettuce, which i used pieces of it to scoop and eat my shrimp in whole. This is a 5/5 recommend The dumplings came out in a pair for like 4-5 dollars I think. It was very hot and soft. The only thing tho was that the meat inside the dumpling was a lil dry compared to a lot of Asian restaurants I've tried BUT it tasted good and was flavor. 4/5. I got the Ox tail Beef broth soup and the Nasi Padang. The ox tail was very good, it has its spices but it's a simple soup with the meat, the potatoes and chopped up tomatoes all thrown into the bowl, with wontons. I used the side chili they gave me, lime into the soup. It was so much to eat for me including the rice with the bowl. Of soup was a lot. Because it was ox the price was a bit high so like 19 which is reasonable. The broth was great, it's simple yet very delectable. The Nasi Padang, was a curry based plate with two types of meat, shredded beef and chicken, two different curry flavors. One was sweet and the other was tangy which was different. It wasn't my favorite but the ox tail definitely beat it. Overall this place was really good and something yall should doif you wanna eat out on budget but good.
