At Pho Hub, you'll find an unassuming spot that packs some flavor! Upon entering, the dining room space is small, and it became apparent as we waited for our dine-in order, that the majority of their business must be takeout. That said, enjoying our pho in person was the right way to do it! Steaming hot and so savory, the broth really was a flavor punch I didn't know to expect! The brisket and tendon was cooked beautifully and melted with each bite. I didn't even need to add any sauce which is a huge compliment. They do have a small bar where you can grab toppings like jalapeños and limes. This didn't seem to get replenished throughout the day, and given we were there for dinner, some of the items seemed a little past their prime. From what I could see, there was only one team member managing phone, cash register, and bussing, and one person in the kitchen, so I can't fault them too much for this. Overall: 4.4/5 Pho Hub has made it into my top 5 Vietnamese restaurants in Austin. We liked everything we ordered, and the food arrived early too. Bun Bo Hue ($18.99): Wow, this was so delicious and flavorful that I didn't even need the sauce it came with. Tacos ($12.99) + Grilled Beef ($2): Came with 2 scallion pancake tacos. The beef was a bit drier than the one on the banh mi but still good overall. I didn't think the lettuce and tomato worked with the scallion pancake though. It's a good concept that just needs a little tweaking. Grilled Beef Banh Mi ($13.99): The bread was soft but the star of the show was the grilled beef. It was much fattier than the one in the taco and the flavors were phenomenal. Grilled Pork Broken Rice ($16.99): The pork was a bit drier than the beef but the flavors were fine. This was our first time here and we decided to order a bit of everything and honestly everything tasted great. As other yelpers mentioned their Pho really is THAT good, the broth had all the right notes and was so flavorful I didn't even have to add additional fish sauce or hoisin! The quality of meat also tasted better, especially their tendon, which was really tender! The Bon Bo Hue on the other hand I felt was missing something, but once I found the shrimp paste it gave it exactly what I was looking for...remember a little shrimp paste goes a long way. The meat included in the BBH was similar to the combo pho we ordered, I just wish it included the traditional blood cakes. For Banh mi, we opted for grilled pork which had a nice marinade to it and actually had char marks. The fixings inside were similar to other banh mis such as the carrots, cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno (which we asked to leave out but was still included), but their bread was a bit different. This one was paler than I am used to but was very soft, I just wish they at least toasted the inside a bit to add some crunch, but I did like their peanut sauce. We also ordered the grilled Vermicelli with beef and chicken and both protein options were well flavored. Everything overall tasted pretty good, and the highlights of Pho Hub are definitely their Pho and their proteins. The price does seem to be a bit higher but not sure if it's just due to inflation or because they use better quality products? Regardless, if you are around the Steiner area and looking for some Vietnamese food, don't hesitate to stop by. read more

Finally made it out to Steiner Ranch for the Bo Ne and Beef Pho at Pho Hub! Bo Ne ($17) In my humble opinion, I think they're the best Bo Ne in the surrounding Austin area because is the sweet and savory saucy version that come with a generous serving of pate and butter blend that you can smear on the soft airy baguette. It also comes with french fries, corn side and salad. Comparatively , I think other offerings in Austin can be a little bit too dry for my liking. Pho Combo ($13ish) What was especially surprising to me was the quality of their pho. Dare I say it competes with Pho Phong Luu with its full bodied flavor but fresher meat. We complimented the owner and he shared that his technique is never precutting the beef and only doing it the morning of to keep the freshness. The special comes with tendon brisket, meatball and rare steak which all were very tender. Banh Mi Thit Typically, I don't go for fusion but having tried the avocado, I am very impressed that it gives the same creaminess as Vietnamese butter. Marinade was nice and sweet, they even give you on the side more of the sauce. Only wish there were actual charcoal grill marks but that's still hard to find anyways. Overall , the menu looks very fusion, however having tried the food and talking to the owner I can tell that the food is respectfully sticking true to the authentic flavors as much as possible. He said they do have aspirations to serve more of the Asian community with traditional flavors so if you're in the Steiner Ranch area, do drop by and give them a try! read more

We came here during lunch time after our paddle boarding. The place is kind of small. There was not much seating for party of 4. However the tables are moveable. So you can add them up and make a big table. It is a self serve place, where you go and order the food in the front, grab your own water and utensil. There is also a bar on the side where you grab more condiments. Whenever I go to pho place, I get the BUN BO Hue. It's the spicy beef noodle soup. I really like the beef and the rest of the meat in the dish. I would recommend the BBH and pho here. The one downside I would say is that the price of this place is higher than most place in Austin. I wish this place weren't 30 minutes away from my house!! We stopped by the other day and were pleasantly surprised. Pho: broth was very flavorful on its own, and was definitely better overall then some others I've had. A regular size is probably enough for two if you're not starving. Vermicelli: very generous serving size with plenty of meat, too. All with the fresh flavor one expects from these bowls. Spring rolls: also a generous size. I had the vegetable pho which came either the typical veggies and pieces of tofu. I opted to add the boiled/steamed egg, unfortunately the egg was pretty standard but I don't think it was seasoned at all. The tofu was properly cooked but not seasoned as well. I was missing the addition of jalapeño slices and lime wedge as the broth is typically my favorite part of pho. The portion size was good as I was able to leave with leftovers. A pretty new Vietnamese place at the front of riverplace, that has some great food! The pho is good, but you can't forget about the bao sliders (I like pork) and the bahn mi sandwiches. Ordered sizzling beef, found hair in it, if it was just a HAIR from your scalp then it wont this bad, it was more like hair from someone PRIVATE part, I wish I took a picture before I gave them back the food. The food is so good and fresh! I grew up in Boston eating pretty amazing pho, and this place does not disappoint! From their crispy spring rolls to their pho noodle soups to their vermicelli bowls - we fully enjoyed all the dishes! We will 100% order again. Not to mention, the great customer service we had when we went to pick up our food. They packed the food very well. You know they're legit when they give you raw beef in the takeout order (it cooks in the hot soup) along with sliced limes, hoisin sauce and sriracha sauce packets with the fresh basil and veggies to add to your soup. This rainy weather has made me crave Pho, but I feel like I've already tried every place in town - so whenever I heard Pho Hub opened, I told myself it was worth the drive to try it out and I'm so happy I did. For starters, I love that they give you the option to build your own Pho. I find myself adding items and removing items all the time when buying pho, but the price isn't adjusted whenever you take stuff out that you want. Secondly, for a "regular size", the portions are HUGE. Tack that on to it being extremely affordable, I'd say this is worth the drive. I had ordered and had my food in under 10 minutes. Now when this place becomes an Austin staple, and it will, I'm sure that this place will get much busier and the wait times will get longer. But for now, I'm gonna make the weekly commute for this amazing food and service. read more

Definitely try their two specials, Bún Bò Huế and Bò Né. They're actually worth the hype. Very fast and friendly service, small store but plenty of seatings. Yuk!!! Terrible!! A friend referred me to this place but the food was terrible! The potstickers were overcooked and greasy. The shrimp fried rice tasted greasy and the shrimp still had the tails on. My wife didn't touch her veggie bowl because it looked unappetizing.
