I really wanna support local businesses much this was super mid. First off, parking on the boulevard is nearly impossible. We wanted to grab a quick bite after WonderPlay in Avondale. It was quite difficult to find a parking spot. Grilled Beef Banh Mi - very different take then I'm used to being Vietnamese. Their beef was actually shredded and unfortunately on the drier side Chicken + Rice Noodle $6 - quite a steal for the portion for my toddler. On the blander side which is my child's preference. However for a Vietnamese pho this was not a hit for me Wasn't my preferred spot to try but at least I can say I've tried it.

Walked in and did not feel welcomed in at all but when other customers walked in the owner would welcome them. We ordered and the girl who took our order was nice. We got their spring rolls and banh mi and I would say spring rolls had too much vegetables and the peanut sauce was alright. We got our banh mi sandwich and the person who gave it to us was probably the owner and he just threw it on the table how rude. He didn't hand it to us nicely but rather just slide it on the table. This is not the customer service I was expecting. It was not busy even though the Logan square farmer market was going on. The Banh mi was lacking meat and some pickled veggies. The Banh mi was cut in half but when I ate it it was barely filled with any meat at all. As you can see Banh mi was not crispy and black pepper on top?

We stopped by after navigating the unfortunate construction out front. I feel bad for their business because this has got to be hurting them. Staff was so nice and friendly and I was honestly shocked there was no place to tip when I tapped to pay. You do order at the counter and they bring it to you or call your number. We had a few $ in cash so added those to the tip jar. Food came out fast, but my first bite was a pretty big disappointment. The bread was warmed, but soft and kind of mushy chewy - like a hoagie. Typical banh mi has a nice light and very crispy bread. The meat flavors were fine, but the pate was somewhat bland and an important missing flavor profile. The jalapeño was nice and spicy. I might try the pho on another visit, but the sandwich won't get another try. The interior was clean and bright, but not a place where eating in or out makes a big difference.

This place is such great value for banh mi and viet iced coffee. Got the grilled beef and classic. The beef is sweet. The classic was loaded and we both preferred the classic more. It is a little barebones but I like their food. The workers are nice and their service terminal doesn't beg for tips. It's right outside Logan Square Station.

Hidden in Logan Square, this place feels just like Vietnam -- from the lightning-fast service to the bustling vibe. The chefs are Vietnamese, and you can taste it in every bite. The bánh mì? Legit. The pho? On point. You barely sit down before the food hits your table, which honestly made me nostalgic for the streets of Hanoi. Now, fair warning: it's not the cleanest or most organized place, but maybe that's part of the charm. If it were spotless and minimal, it wouldn't feel nearly as real. Sometimes authenticity comes with a little chaos -- and I'm here for it.

This is a little gem just outside the alley of my apartment complex. I have only gotten to go orders so far but everything is always delicious. My go to order are the shrimp spring rolls and beef pho. The pho is very delicious and as always piping hot! The jalapeños in it are quite spicy so take that into consideration if you don't like it too spicy. In any case you can always take them out. I love how everything is so neatly packaged. The pho is large enough to share. My boyfriend gets the itis after eating it. The real star of the show for me is the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It is oh so good. It tastes like a dark roast and it is perfectly blended with condensed milk. This is my fifth time getting it. My son also loves the passion fruit cooler. If you are in the Logan Square area try this place out. You won't regret it!

Amazing is all we can say! Both the beef & chicken pho were so flavorful! The grilled beef sandwich was the perfect addition, you have to try dipping it! The staff is so friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is homey! On the way out we had to snag a Vietnamese coffee that was just the perfect ending!!

I really enjoyed my first meal here and very much expect to be back! Tons of great options on the menu but I went with the pork noodle salad to start. I had a Vietnamese coffee too which was a perfect pick me up. The staff are lovely, really really friendly and helpful. It was great chatting with them! The vibe here is pretty casual with kind of a strange layout of two little dining areas, but they said they can accommodate groups with a heads up. The food was FRESH. Especially with Vietnamese food this makes such a big difference with the herbs, sprouts, etc. I was pleasantly surprised!! In the future I hope their menu gets bolder with more unique proteins and strong flavor options. Right now it's very very solid and I'd love to see more. Can't wait to return!

Small cute spot across from the Logan square blue line station. It's easy to miss because of the construction right in front of the restaurant, however it's definitely worth going. It was post thanksgiving and I was sick of turkey and sides so opted for a Saigon special and dumpling soup. The dumplings were homemade..it literally melted in your mouth. The Banh Mí was sooo good! The spot is small but the service was great and food was awesome!

Located pretty conveniently in Logan square but finding parking around here is a nightmare on busy days. Place is really small, has just 7 tables, so we had to wait to sit. They don't really have servers per se, all the utensils are self serve. Foods pretty good, pho beef was very tender and soup flavor was good. The basil didn't look too fresh but bean sprout was good. Shrimp spring roll has a tiny bit mint in it but no basil. Shrimp is not halved and the black thread in the back is still there sadly. Peanut sauce is pretty liquid and mild in flavor, it's entirely savory and no hint of sweet (which is different than a lot of other places). The banh mi was good, baguette was really good, fluffy soft and crunchy. The tofu was not bad but too mild in flavor since the lemongrass seem to be a seasoning rather than infused flavor. Cucumber is not pickled, but the carrot is, but pickled flavor is so mild, could do a more stronger flavor, also no daikon. Texture of banh mi is good but flavor I think could pop more. Bathroom has paper for drying hand which is a plus for me, can also use to open the door handle. Utensils are really cheap and some of the thin plastic soup spoons are pretty dirty so had to wipe clean with napkin.

Wagyu with lemongrass and a chili sea salt was simple but tasty. The grilled eggplant was yummy, paired with pickled shallots, fried garlic, and scallions. Definitely a good one for eggplant lovers like me. The veggie curry was good but probably the least favored of everything we had and couldn't finish it. But we made room for a little dessert! We went with the whipped rice pudding but had it without peanuts because I'm allergic. We didn't really enjoy it much. It was kind of bland and I'm guessing it might be because we omitted the nuts. It was sad to finish on a weak note.

I loved the fresh greens, almonds, and the sesame cracker, but the noodles itself would be a hard pass. Very mellow compared to other viet dishes I've tried. 5 stars based on Bahn mi, cha gio and iced coffee I ordered today…read more I must have been part of an early crowd. When I arrived, there was only one other table dining, which made it GREAT for me. It's a decent size hall with 10+ table arrangements, making it pretty great for a group to enjoy their lunch. It also featured a couple of kiosks for ordering, which I thought was a bit easy to miss, since it was tucked away in the left corner when you walked in. It looked like there was also a cashier available to take orders, if you miss the kiosks. I've seen places where they simply do not have anyone at the register to take orders, but that wasn't the case for Lotus. Before deciding to visit them today, I had an impression that their menu choices were very limited compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I was used to. I'm certainly not complaining, since I'm usually a huge fan of select "specialty" approach in restaurants. That's why I decided to order one of their Bahn mi, where I normally would have chosen pho for my first visit. And it didn't disappoint. First off, the size of the sandwich was good. I've had it where they charged a buck or two less, but they weren't big enough to be a full "lunch" portion. Lotus' size, I thought was decent. I had ordered one of their cha gios just in case the sandwich failed to fill me, but I think I would have been okay without it. Cha gio was super good tho! Oh, and the iced V-coffee was good, too. Typically, they'll bring out the coffee before your meal is ready, probably because they're ready-made in the morning and all you'd need to do is pour them over ice. I of course, have known legitimate mom n' pop places, where they'll actually bring out coffee as it's brewing in Phin (stainless steel coffee filter) and a glass of ice with condensed milk, so you can wait for the coffee to finish brewing and pour yourself one, which is what I *always* prefer. Not here, but no big deal. You can usually tell how good the food is going to be by trying their iced coffee. Even though V-coffee isn't known for using "incredible" beans, the balance of the strength of coffee and condensed milk *does* make a big difference in your experience. I felt this place had it correct! I'll definitely come back myself and even bring coworkers or my family to have their Bahn mi again. What I'm not sure about is whether I want to try their pho or bun. First, they don't offer too many variations, so I'm stuck choosing from just a few. (For example, I usually go for "brisket-only" or a combo of brisket and rare steak, but they didn't seem to have those options. Granted, it's possible they'll make it happen if I asked) Secondly, I think they're a couple bucks more expensive than what I would like to pay for a bowl of pho. We'll see.

I didn't try the hot pot, but the group one table over had it. Speaking of the other group, so many varied entrees came out of the kitchen - it was cool to see more than just phở. The waitstaff is quick... almost to the point of impatient! But never problematic. Be aware that dishes fly out of the kitchen as they are ready. One bowl might come out way before the others. An appetizer might come out last. It just whatever is ready (it appears). Also, their takeout game is strong, judging by the amount of trays ready to go and people coming in to carry-out.
