    Pandan banh xeo

Man it's been 6 years since I've come back. I had a random craving for banh xeo n thought this place. I dunno if I had built it up in my mind too much or something but when I came back it just wasn't as good. The fillings seemed really sparse. The style was the same tho a very thin shell which I do like. This time I got the specific pandan flavored banh xeo but couldn't taste the flavor maybe the original tamarind flavor is where it's at. I'll prob give it another chance when I get the craving again. Got the bun rieu, pho, and an order of egg rolls as well. They were ok.

If you are following, I have been reuniting with ALL of my life long friends! My New Year's resolution. What an experience. Quality/Quantity - This place is known for their crepes, hence the name of the business. Cut and pasted from the internet: "Bánh Xèo (pronounced "bahn SAY-oh") is a popular Vietnamese savory crepe, also known as "sizzling cake" due to the sound the batter makes when it hits the hot pan." "To eat Bánh Xèo, tear off a piece, wrap it in lettuce and fresh herbs, and dip it in Vietnamese dipping sauce (Nước Chấm)." Well today's guest is on a HUGE health kick. This is his favorite restaurant, we actually come here EVERY time I visit him, lol. Basically like eating a plate of veggies. Today we got two crepes. Mine with pork, shrimp, and squid and his with beef, shrimp, and squid. Not much protein as mentioned above. But fresh and healthy. After dinner, we went back to the house to drink and hang out. We forgot to buy snacks; I left his house starving!! Good thing my wife saved half a sandwich from Duc Huong Sandwiches from earlier today. I scarfed that down! Atmosphere - Small local business. Plenty of mall parking. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 8pm. Service - Just okay. Not very personable. The waitress (owner?) did not say one word to us. When asking for a fork or anything else, she never responded?!?! But she did bring everything that we asked for to us. Interesting... Price - $38 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2014; we have been customers since then. Especially since this is my buddy's favorite crepe restaurant.

It was good, wasn't great. I was just expecting more but the food overall wasn't bad, the service was quick.

Been here many, times since my first review. I've come to really enjoy the crepe dish. And I've never seen it anywhere else. Perhaps they could add a tad more meat ands less bean sprouts to improve the dish. But I still feel healthy eating the huge lattice and veggies basket that comes with it. Spring rolls are ok, Shaking beef of very good but pricey. Pho hits the spot but it's not legendary. But I added a star to make it 4. The service is quick, just know the waitress' English is pretty poor. They like to push drinks in you too. Food s out relatively quick. Order at the table and get up and pay at the counter type of place.

My favorite place to get bánh xèo! They get it so perfectly thin and crispy and I love the options for fillings. I usually get the squid, shrimp, and mushrooms, but my boyfriend gets the pork, shrimp, and squid which is #1 on their menu. The service is great here too.

Located on the far corner inside a strip mall (with mostly Vietnamese restaurant and an exotic food and a matcha hot spot), there is ample parking Not your typical Pho place (though they have it) but they're known for their Banh Xeo (felt more like a build your own Banh Xeo). Very crispy and tasty that brings back memories of the time in Vietnam. Another flavorful is their duck salad. Their spring rolls are good but it can be a filler. I suggest go straight for the Banh Xeo and Banh Kot and get an order of their beef porridge.

This is my go to for Banh Xeo in SJ, never fails. It is crispy and portion is huge. I like to share one with another person and save some room for their desserts .

I loveeee banh xeo and this is place specializes in it. It is kind of pricey for the amount you get because I wasn't fully full, but hey this plaza is full of boba shops to satisfy my needs. The veggies here are always fresh and taste of the banh xeo is yummy. I just wished the banh xeo was bigger or had more protein filling because there was a lot of bean sprouts. I also got to try the flan here which was pretty good because of the coffee flavor in the caramelized syrup. This was a nice treat and I would get this again. The only thing I wouldn't get again is the banh khot. It's not bad, but for the price and other competitors, I think its okay.

This place is #1 to have one of those rainy days craving. Banh Xèo created with a crisp flaky batter, wonder if they put beer in it. A family member does that I know of. You'll get a heap of veggies and if you know you know! Use your hands of course and place your veggies then a piece of your banh xèo and dip it in the fish sauce, add some hot sauce in it too. The bean sprouts are cooked and I like it that way. Today was my son's first time eating it, he's picky so it was this or a rice plate. Service is up to par. The ladies here take your order by memory. Just the four of us and she repeated the order in English. Amazing. It's always crowded here, either home made or come out here to give it a try. Just one side note since we were finishing up as they were cleaning. I want to minus one start but their food is good. The minus one star is don't mop the floor while you still have customers eating, the bleach is gonna harm everyone inside. Just wait till your customers clear the restaurant. Being in health care myself, it's harmful to inhale and it's a slip hazard which I did see a gentleman almost slipped as he was waiting for the restroom. Slippery and the smell of bleach don't go hand in hand at all. That's all I've got to add for now.

Randomly decided to try this spot to eat banh xeo in san jose. We got the one with shrimp, pork, and squid. But the skin was a little bit soft and slightly wet, not very crispy. Also they gave us very little lettuce and it was super wet. It's alright overall, but seems like you can find better banh xeo elsewhere

This place needs more love. I give 5 star for consistency with their Banh Xeo and their surprisingly tasty bun Bo hue (bbh). This plaza has several spots for bbh, but I think this is one of the better ones. I've already raved about their Banh Xeo and I stand by my words years later. If anything, they could refill my water and their landlord to clean the stinky trash. Other than that, this is my go to Vietnamese savory crepe place.

Woah! So many options for banh xeo!! I have never seen so many. I did get the beef and shrimp one. It was good, oh, and the mound of veggies it came with was phenomenally good and fresh! Mint, lettuce, and giant leaves! It was straightforward, and they take contactless payments too - perfect! There were already lots of people eating there for early meals. There is plenty of parking.

Sooo good and yummy. Food came out so fast. Service was attentive and fast. Interior is okay, but seating is spacious.

The banh khot was warm and crunchy. I love when you can taste hints of coconut and when the garlic is suuuper strong lol The garlic noodles were alright tbh. The noodles were a little hard but the shrimp was cooked perfectly! They're definitely meant to be more of a takeout spot. They were pushing out party trays like crayyyy when we were there. Despite it being in a big lot, parking still took a while to find. Thankfully, we had thankfully just beat the lunch rush and not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. My friend and I shared a Northern spread (Bun Cha Ha Noi) and a Southern style Goat Curry (Banh Mi Cari De). Service was definitely on the slower side that day, but thankfully we were proactive at getting the orders in. The Bun Cha Ha Noi was delicious - pretty much a DIY spring roll - all the fun, all the mess, with none of the clean up other than licking the plates clean. The pork belly was delicious; I was surprised how much I liked it, since I'm not a fan of pork. I devoured numerous rolls, and we also had some extra vermicelli to finish off the rest of the protein. This single meal was definitely more than enough for two! The Banh Mi Cari De (goat curry) was unfortunately quite the opposite. The goat was cooked very well - tough, gamy, and difficult to eat. There were probably six pieces in total, our first was tender, our second had bone, a little harder to chew, and the last was best compared to rubber. The curry was a bit watery, which made the banh mi soggy when dipped in. This was probably an adventurous try, but not a dish I'd ever consider ordering again.

It's a grilled tumeric fish dish that packs a ton of flavor, and you add noodles and herbs to make a delish spring roll (or in my case a fat burrito). If you can't find parking in that plaza, there's more parking across the road where the Target is. After spending about ten minutes on the written wait-list, our names were called. It's definitely a little easier communicating with much of the staff if you speak Vietnamese, and I find that waiting right outside the restaurant is best because they default to calling your name from the door once it's your turn. The interior is crammed with tables; the atmosphere feels busy and warm. There is a single room women's bathroom and men's bathroom in the back as well. The decor leans toward being classic more than trendy, which I liked. The menu is pretty big, offering a variety of items ranging from mainstream Vietnamese options to ones I don't encounter as often. I recommend eating family-style for many of these dishes, including the Bún Chả Cá Lã Vọng, which I enjoyed with my partner. The prices are pretty average, and their portions are generous. That said, they are cash or Zelle only. There is an ATM that you can use if you forget to bring cash, but this is still something to keep in mind. Overall, I can definitely see myself coming back. The standout dish was the egg rolls. They arrived hot, golden brown, and perfectly crisp, with a satisfying crunch and a flavorful filling that made them the best part of the meal. The food, however, wasn't the reason for my rating. The restaurant's cleanliness left me concerned. I noticed cobwebs that appeared to have been hanging in place for a long time, along with dirt and grime collecting in corners throughout the dining room. Even the menus felt sticky, with a visible film of grease and small food particles still clinging to them. The faded print and worn condition made them look as though they hadn't been replaced in years. Those details created an impression of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. With a thorough deep cleaning and some updated menus, this restaurant could create a much more welcoming dining experience. Until then, the cleanliness issues overshadow what was otherwise an average meal.
