The staff are really nice. Checked in on us throughout meal. The catfish is good. I like the sauce. So good with rice. We also got a soup I forgot to take a picture of. I don't remember the name but it reminded me of tom yum. It was really good and also had catfish in it. The oysters were good too!! My favorite.

I've been here a few times and tried a variety of dishes. My favorites were the squid stir-fried with pineapple (5/5) and the gỏi tôm sen with shrimp (lotus root salad) and pork ears (5/5)--both were fresh and flavorful. The ốc hương with tamarind sauce (3/5) needed a more flavorful sauce, and the bánh hỏi with nem nướng (3.5/5) could have had a larger portion. The biggest downside was the catfish, which was undercooked in both the canh chua (2.5/5) and caramelized catfish, despite the latter having great seasoning. Service was 5/5 very attentive

I was amazed how inviting this restaurant looked from the outside and inside. The intensive menu was colorful with pictures that looked exactly of what you order. Service was fast, efficient, professional and friendly. Our waitress had to explain dishes to us since we were not familar with most of the dishes. Food was delicious, served temperature hot and each dish was distinctly different. Food presentation was supurb. It's definitely a nice relaxing atmosphere.

Delicious food and great service! We tried the Saigon Kitchen Grilled Fish - super crispy, well seasoned, and came out much faster than expected which was very nice. Comes with veggie platter and rice paper. Definitely enough for 2 people. We got the Chicken Cartilege thinking we needed it, but I think the fish by itself would have been fine. Everything was delicious! The Rose Lychee Pomegranate Tea came out just like the picture, very pretty and refreshing with a heavy meal. The flavor has lots of floral notes. We arrived at around 1pm, lots of tables full already but we were able to get seated with no wait for our group of 2. Great experience, would definitely come again!

I had lunch with mom at Saigon Kitchen. The restaurant had a nice warm ambience. Service was fast and friendly. It is located near the main entrance of Great Century Mall to the left, outside. You won't find PHO here... LOL... but, you will find a flavorful spot for sea snails, clams, etc. We ordered the Banh Beo (steamed rice cakes). The nuoc mum sauce was too salty for our taste. However, the sea snails in coconut milk were sweet and easy to suck out the snails. We enjoyed them. The basil clams were a good size and fresh. The sauce is a bit salty. I recommend eating with a side of rice. Lastly, we ordered claypot catfish. We really enjoyed the catfish. It was perfect of flavors and balance. But, be careful of the bones. Overall, we had a pleasant experience.

Restaurant was displayed clean and very nice. Staff were friendly and service was fast. This alone I would give a 4 to 5 stars. I really wanted to give a 4 star but ultimately my rating goes out for if the food is actually good. The quality and quantity along with price I think is very good. However the flavor was not there. Quality is good but the flavor is lacking however this can be a personal preference. Not much to say about stir fry morning glory/spinach. Garlic cloves could be a little more cooked. Crab soup, I forgot what type we got but it was super thick with not much crab. The clay pot ribs were good, flavor was on point, a perfect match with rice. Would order again. Sweet and sour catfish soup... veggies were good and presentation was A1! BUT the catfish was either frozen or old, texture was rubbery and color of fish was a bit off. Soup was more on the savory side and could use a more sour or tang profile. The goi salad we ordered did not have enough fish sauce/dressing or the dressing was not flavorful enough, veggies were thick cut so without enough or strong enough dressing, the salad was a bit bland.

Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is spacious with a nice atmosphere, making it a great place to catch up with friends or enjoy a casual meal.

Our friend, who knows San Jose well, wanted us to try Saigon Kitchen because they serve authentic Vietnamese dishes that you would get in Vietnam. 4 of us dined here on a weekday for lunch at around noon. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded, so we were seated right away. Saigon Kitchen is a fairly large restaurant that can accommodate many, including large parties for special occasions. The ambiance was tropical and nature-inspired with bamboo and wood furnishings. Service was friendly and efficient, with each dish coming out promptly. ***OUR PICKS*** GÒI XOĀI TÔM KHÔ ~ Shredded green mango with dry shrimp and carrot in fish sauce with prawn crackers. This one gets your appetite going with a zesty and spicy dressing! The dry shrimp was a bit hard to chew, though. Boiled shrimp would have been better, but it was still a tasty starter. 4/5 BĀNH HÒI TÔM THIT NUŌC KHÔ ~ Fine Rice Vermicelli With BBQ Pork and Shrimp. A sizable platter with all the fixings, including rice papers and warm water to make your own spring rolls. A fun, hands-on experience that was delicious and satisfying! 5/5 BŪN RIÊU CUA ~ Crab Noodles Soup With Crab Cake, Pork Rib, Fried Tofu, and Pork Ham. I've never eaten this popular noodle soup, so I can't really say if it's on point. I thought it was good, but my companions had better elsewhere and said it was lacking real crab roe. 3.5/5 BĀNH BÈO CHÉN (5) ~ Steamed rice cakes with dry minced shrimp, pork rind, and fish sauce. I've heard of this dish being sold exclusively in specialty shops, but never had it before. I enjoyed the crunchy pork rind toppings and soft texture of the steamed rice cakes. Dipping it into fish sauce (nuoc cham) makes it taste so much better, so don't forget it! 5/5 CÁ QUAY DÙA XIÊM DA GIÒN ~ Crispy Roasted Catfish Served with Rice Paper, Fresh Herbs, Vermicelli, and Fermented Fish Sauce. The catfish was fried till most of the bones were crunchy and edible, while the bigger bones were easily removed. The fish was an impressive size, prepared well, and it was tender. We got this dish last, so we were pretty full, but we managed to eat most of the fish. 4.5/5 If you've never had anything but Pho at a Vietnamese restaurant, you're missing out! Everything we ordered was appetizing, fresh, and beautifully presented. Saigon Kitchen was truly an authentic taste of Vietnam. A solid 4.5 stars!

I've been to Saigon Kitchen every now and then, but this review is specifically for their Cơm Gia Đình $12.95 promotion. My bestie has been wanting to try braised claypot fish for a while, and she trusted me to take her to a good Vietnamese spot. Since we were already cruising around Vietnam Town the whole day, Saigon Kitchen felt like the perfect place for an early dinner. When we arrived, it wasn't too busy so we got seated right away by the window. The restaurant is actually quite spacious, and the interior has a nice mix of hometown Vietnamese vibes with a slightly modern twist. They also use matching bowls, plates, and utensils with their restaurant name on it, which gives it a more upscale feel. Our server introduced us to their Cơm Gia Đình promotion--$12.95 per dish, and it includes rice. We ended up ordering: Cá Bông Lau Kho Tộ (Braised Catfish in Claypot) Sườn Non Kho Tộ (Braised Pork Ribs in Claypot) Canh Chua Cá Bớp (Vietnamese Hot & Sour Cobia Soup) and side order of Cánh Gà Chiên Bơ (Butter Garlic Chicken Wings) for the regular menu appetizer. First of all, the portion sizes are HUGE. This is a full-on dinner plate with rice included and they did NOT cheap out at all even with the promo price. Honestly such a steal in this economy. Flavor-wise, everything from the promotion menu was well-balanced with that sweet, salty, umami combo you expect from Vietnamese comfort food. Not the absolute best I've ever had, but definitely solid, tasty, and feels authentic enough. The ribs and fish were both tender and not dry at all, super soft and easy to eat. My bestie was happy with her meal so mission accomplished!! But the chicken wings were okay, nothing exceptional about it. The soup came out last when we were already full so we didn't really get to touch it there. The server was really sweet though and helped us pack it to-go. I brought it home and shared it with my mom the next day. Even after sitting in the fridge for 24 hours, it still held up pretty well. I actually liked the cobia fish a bit more than the catfish, less fatty, more lean. The broth had a nice balance of sweet and sour, and it was loaded with veggies too. Overall, this promotion really won me over. I might bring my mom back to try other dishes on days we don't feel like cooking. The server told us it started around Lunar New Year/February, so I'm not sure when it'll end, but if you're in Vietnam Town and it's still running, definitely give it a try!!

The banh khot was warm and crunchy. I love when you can taste hints of coconut and when the garlic is suuuper strong lol The garlic noodles were alright tbh. Despite it being in a big lot, parking still took a while to find. Thankfully, we had thankfully just beat the lunch rush and not had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. My friend and I shared a Northern spread (Bun Cha Ha Noi) and a Southern style Goat Curry (Banh Mi Cari De). Service was definitely on the slower side that day, but thankfully we were proactive at getting the orders in. The Bun Cha Ha Noi was delicious - pretty much a DIY spring roll - all the fun, all the mess, with none of the clean up other than licking the plates clean. The pork belly was delicious; I was surprised how much I liked it, since I'm not a fan of pork. I devoured numerous rolls, and we also had some extra vermicelli to finish off the rest of the protein. This single meal was definitely more than enough for two! The Banh Mi Cari De (goat curry) was unfortunately quite the opposite. The goat was cooked very well - tough, gamy, and difficult to eat. There were probably six pieces in total, our first was tender, our second had bone, a little harder to chew, and the last was best compared to rubber. The curry was a bit watery, which made the banh mi soggy when dipped in. This was probably an adventurous try, but not a dish I'd ever consider ordering again.

We ordered a large bun Bo hue, a large pho luc lac, fried rice with ribeye cooked medium level (as recommended), Bo luc lac with tomato flavored rice, and a chicken pho ap chao to share amongst 3 adults and 4 kids. Everything we ordered was delicious, tasty, and the portion size were very good and perfect for sharing. I was pleasantly surprised with the pho ap chao, it was really tasty and crispy and a dish I have not tried before. We really enjoyed everything but the Bo luc lac (shaken beef) was super tender and the beef was flavorful! This is a must try in my opinion! This restaurant is clean and tidy and has cute decors of bamboo hats hung from the ceiling and remind me of being back in Vietnam again. Staffs were attentive as customers entered. Plenty of parking spaces in the plaza. I will definitely come back here for everything I tried during my visit and to try more when in the area or on the way back from Santa Cruz. This will also be a great place to grab Togo for picnics or for hiking as well! My kids are already asking to come back to the restaurant after our first time there. So glad to know of another Vietnamese restaurant that has so many yummy dishes in SJ!

It's not outstanding, but it's definitely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service ruined the experience. As soon as I sat down, I hadn't even had a chance to look through the whole menu before the server kept touching my shoulder and repeatedly pressured me to order. I found it very rude and uncomfortable because I really don't like strangers touching me. The older lady did it to everyone in our table, and she didn't seem to realize she was making our entire group uncomfortable, and it affected our whole dining experience. So, would I come back? Absolutely not. One visit was more than enough. I'm not willing to deal with that kind of pushy service again.
