We ordered a takeout from this place. We had soy glazed chicken wings, japchae entrée and a seafood bibimbap. The service was great. The one who took the order was friendly and patient enough to explain the difference between dolsot or not. Food overall was okayish at best. I've only ordered delivery from here. A little pricey, but they have such a great variety and I love that they have the fried seaweed rolls. Sometimes I just order that and a soda to snack on. The chicken wings are nice and crispy but could use a bit more flavor. The Dolsot Bibimbap is a big portion and they're even able to get the crispy rice at the bottom done perfectly! So good, but they can be kinda skimpy on the protein. They always give a nice variety of banchan and I've loved them all. Especially the eggplant! I like the individually wrapped containers and appreciate that they recycle and use the boxes for delivery. Food is amazing! It's well done and tastes like how my mom makes it. There's a ton of side dishes they give out at the beginning of the meal and they were all really high quality! The kimchi radishes were perfection. Food came out in a timely manner. It was really good! The portions were huge so we had plenty to take home for leftovers. The Bossam here is amazing!! One of the few places in the area that still serves bossam. The small size was perfect for two people and came with radish kimchi. Fast service and servers were so nice :-) The fried chicken was good, but not anything amazing. We came here as a group of 2 on a weekday night and it was not very busy. We've been here a couple of times, the Ladies in the restaurant are very friendly & nice . The food that we have tried is delicious , our favorites are probably the Bulgogi & Japchae , we tried the spicy pork which is really good & spice is perfect that it doesn't blow your socks off or sweat to death from the heat of spices . LOL ! Love all the little side dishes they're all so delightful. The place looks retro but it is very clean there's a Von's Chicken attached to the restaurant but my husband says it only for take out only. Maybe one day we will order Von's chicken . Absolutely incredible Korean food -- felt like a warm hug in restaurant form. I can't stop thinking about the japchae and galbi -- both were absolutely phenomenal. The japchae was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with that amazing chewy texture. And the galbi? Fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. But what truly sets this place apart are the sides -- every single one of them was delicious. You know how usually there's one or two standouts? Here, every dish was something I'd go back for. The banchan are clearly made with care, and it shows. And the people -- just the kindest, warmest staff you could ask for. Came here on a Friday night and there were plenty of tables. We opted for grilling at our own table! Lots of unlimited banchan . Love the eggplants and the waitress refill it when we run out! We order the beef combo. There were 3 different types of beef. We had lots of left over and I think it can serve at least 4 ppl. We also ordered the seafood pancake. It was good and crispy! Saturday lunch with girlfriend, we decided to talk about BTS and Yoongi over some bbq. The place is in the old big lot plaza next to golden sand dim sum. Small little place but clean. We were there at 11:30 so we were actually the first guests. We had the $99 beef combo, with the bean base soup. It was proven that the meat was too much for the 2 of us. Galbee Ssal - I had high hopes but it was just okay. If you don't know, you wouldn't know to ask for lettuce to eat with the grilled meats. You wrap some rice and the meat in giant lettuce leaves, then enjoy. Thankfully my daughter's boyfriend is half Korean so he showed us how to eat the meat how it's meant to be eaten. My group of 3 ordered the meat combo, which has an assortment of meat including kalbi, bulgogi, and also comes with miso or tofu soup. We stuck to the tofu soup, which was delicious. We added a seafood pancake also, which was piping hot and had good crispy edges. The banchan was pretty standard fare, with sprouts, broccoli, kimchi, etc. Personally, I thought the meat quality was good and definitely up to snuff for our little party. The downsides were only that the beef combo only came with two rice (more is extra), though that was plenty for us. It would've been nice if the combo included some simpler non-meats like mushrooms, onions and/or garlic cloves, but not a deal breaker. We did book a reservation per other reviews and had no issues with service. There was a raucous group chatting in Korean, but we didn't feel neglected, and appreciated the cheerful lady who waited on us. Overall, the meal ended up pretty high, but meat prices have been through the roof. I'm just glad there are some decent Korean BBQ in the Tri-Valley area. I expect the competition to heat up more as H-mart opens! In the meantime, a worthy and decent spot! I'd give it a 3.75, and hope they can keep good service, quality and compete! read more

Was craving bossam (steamed pork, for those of you who aren't living life to the fullest), and was less than impressed with another place in town that won't be named. For reference, were used to having really good bossam from places in Oakland and Santa Clara. We were very pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality from Banseok! The pork itself was tender, and the pickled diakon was excellent. Our favorite part of this bossam was the small oysters in the shredded radish kimchi - an amazing addition that really made the dish stand out. We are definitely looking forward to having the bossam in house rather than as takeout sometimes soon! read more

Came here with my co-workers for a quick lunch. They don't have a lunch menu so prices are a bit high for lunch. I ordered the spicy pork which was good and tasty, although I could take a little more heat. It is served with white rice. Nice and cozy place. read more

We have a group of 8 with 3 kids to celebrate my sister and brother's birthdays. They were so accommodating. The food was delicious and they refilled the kimchis every time we asked for. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. Everyone who I saw walk in was seated immediately. The restaurant is decently sized and has lots of seating. Keep in mind that this restaurant also has a separate Von's chicken menu. Parking wasn't an issue because it's located in a shopping center with lots of spaces. As of February 2023, there is currently no AYCE. Instead, you can only order different meats separately or choose a combo. The servers recommended that we order the Meat Mountain combo, which is $198 and intended for 4-6 people. I'm not a frequent KBBQ eater, but I know I've paid more for AYCE and eaten around the same amount, so I'm not mad! The combo also came with a soup, which also filled us up. Overall, the food was filling and tasty, and the prices weren't bad. If you don't want to cook meat on the grill, the menu also includes other Korean dishes that seem on par price-wise with most places I've seen. The best thing about this place was the service! Service was very friendly and attentive. Everything came out very quickly and they checked on us at a good frequency. Also, not everyone on my group had eaten KBBQ before, so the servers gave some nice advice. Overall, good food and great service! I would come back here again to try their other dishes. read more

I would like to give this place a little higher but the food was not as good as I wanted it. We ordered the jokpal which is available from Friday - Sunday. I think it is good but I would have preferred it to be served warm. When we reheated back home with an air fryer, it tasted much better. Found this restaurant on our way from being out of town. I'm glad we decided to eat here. Everything was delicious and customer service was awesome!! We were seated right away. You can choose to order your food or cook yourself. We decided to order because we were too hungry to be cooking lol. The galbee was very flavorful!! Very good portion for the price. The kimchi rice was nice and fluffy rice. Oooooo the fried chicken wings were delicious... crispy, not too much batter and had the right amount of spice. Definitely want to try the other flavors they had for the chicken wings. They have a good amount of sides which they are willing to refill whenever you want more. Customer service was an A plus. This place was delicious! We got the jajangmyeon and chicken dolsot bibimbap. The jajangmyeon came with miso soup as well. The noodles were chewy and the sauce was savory and not overpowering, with cucumbers for an added crunch. This sauce included beef - which makes for a better quality sauce than most restaurants. I personally don't like fat in my beef, so I wish the sauce didn't include any fat, but I barely noticed it and it was quite delicious. The chicken dolsot was also chock full of veggies and crispy and tasty! The bonchon (side dishes) was really superb. They had a variety of small veggies and high quality bonchon, which always makes ordering from a Korean restaurant a great experience. To ensure that food is fresh upon delivery (they offer during COVID), they package the noodles and sauce properly and wrap the bibambap in foil to make sure the food stays warm. We didn't have reservations (and forgot you need them here these days, due to lower dine in availability due to pandemic?) but they were able to get us in - it was on my 11:30am and there was only one other group in the restaurant. So we did anyway, turned out ok. Appetizers: - spicy chicken wings - crispy and nicely sauced. Spicy, to us (but we're not big spicy food eaters) - seafood pancake. Nice and crispy. One of our diners said there were more veggies in it than seafood but it was ok to me. - pan fried beef dumplings. These were good and crispy. Mains: - Dol Sat Bi Bim Bop (2 orders) in spicy pork and beef. These were very big and really good. Nice crunchy rice at the bottom. - Friends had the seafood and beef tofu soups. They thought they were good as well. All in all, thought the food was good.
