    Kimchi Fried Rice

Good food, insane value I came here with my friends. We ordered the ddukboki, squid, chicken bulgogi, and fried egg rice. The chicken bulgogi was my favorite. They also had a lot of nice looking soups that I look forward to trying. The inside is pretty small but there's a good number of tables. The servers are nice too. There is a yelp wait list also but it didn't look in use.

I came with my family on a Wednesday afternoon, but the restaurant was pretty busy being half full. Only one server but she was nice. The food took about 15-20 minutes to come out. Food ratings: - Hot Stone Bibimbap: 4/5! Got the spicy seafood. The flavor was great with a good amount of seafood given. We waited 5 minutes to start eating it but the rice didn't get toasted. - Ramen: 4/5! Classic ramen ordered with spicy seafood. - Combination Komtang: 3.5/5! It's my first time having, and I only have prior food experiences with suyuk to compare to. I feel like the broth tastes beefier which I was less of a fan of. The brisket was pretty good and the tendons were good too. - Combination Nang Myun: 4/5! I got the spicy sauce on the side. Overall refreshing and enjoyed how prominent the sesame flavor was. - Seafood Pancake: 5/5! The table's favorite. Crispy edges with generous seafood and great flavor.

Best Korean food in the East Bay by far! I felt like this is a hole in the wall spot. I love their kimchi and kimchi radish. It definitely tastes fresh and I'm more of a quality over quantity banchan person. I got a mild combo soondubu and the soup is very rich! Service felt pretty homey as well. Shoutout to my Korean friend for ordering all this in Korean!

It's a small cute Korean restaurant tucked inside a small plaza. Based on their name, I ordered the komtang, but we were quite hungry after an unsuccessful fishing day so also tried their Korean bbq and soon tofu soup. Prices were standard for this fare in the bay. The vibe was very casual and it took a little longer for our food to come out than anticipated. There were just two dishes of complimentary banchan. The kimchi and radish tasted extra fermented and sour, and the napa cabbage wasn't cut up into smaller pieces which made it more arduous to eat. - Chadol Komtang This comes with rice (you have an option of white or purple). Maybe it was because I got the komtang with just the brisket, but I thought it was missing some flavor, even after the addition of salt and pepper (which you're supposed to add yourself). I like that they give you a jar of sliced green onions and chili paste, but I wish the green onions were more freshly cut, and the chili paste was necessary but didn't significantly add to the flavor. Also, the very flimsy noodles tasted like something I've eaten from packaged ramen before - there just wasn't too much body. - Pork Bulgogi This was a bit interesting because it tasted more like sweet stir-fried pork with a bit more sweet onion flavor, with no char. I was not fond of how half of it was basically cabbage and onion. - Ham & Sausage Soft Tofu This comes with an egg already added in, and a bowl of rice. Because they added the egg in themselves, it got overcooked and they got some egg shell inside, which made the surprise sharp crunches pretty unappetizing. The ham is basically spam, and the sausage tasted like a generic salty hot dog, sliced really thin. I like that they give you whole chunks of tofu, but the soup base was a little bland. It definitely tasted diluted, even with our salty meats. There were also a lot of sliced onion and diced zucchini chunks. I wanted to like this place, but I was hoping for more flavor in our food, speaking as an anti-salt eater. I'm also spoiled by the Korean food in south bay. I don't think leaving egg shells in the food is acceptable, and they forgot our rice preferences. If you happen to have a craving for Korean food, it wouldn't be too bad for the area if you temper your expectations.

Needed something comforting like a nice home made stomach hug, so I decided to get the Chadol Komtang delivered, and it was exactly what I needed. I like how they give you the broth untouched by putting the salt and scallions on the side, so you can season to your liking. I think next time I'll get the other soup with the short ribs though. Just more of a personal preference that I prefer brisket from the grill. I also appreciated the packaging. The soup comes with a side of noodles, a side of rice, and a a yummy side of kimchi. Kimchi was great, but it wasn't chopped, so I was pulling out the full leaf of cabbage.

This is hands down the best spot in the area for homestyle Korean dishes and soups. My go-to is the galbitang, a deeply comforting beef short rib soup that is slow-cooked for hours. The seafood pancake is perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, and they also offer refreshing cold soups that are great on hot days. Parking can be a bit hectic, but there's usually not much of a wait. Highly recommend.

Went in Jan 2026 so review is a bit late. Overall, it was good meal just wish they had more Banchan variety. I have been to Young Dong Tofu House and they offer double the banchan variety. The Dolsot Bibimbap did not have a lot of rice but it had the delicious crispy rice layer at the bottom which is a must have part of the clay pot. We ordered - - Mushroom Soft Tofu $15.99 - Dolsot Bibimbap $18.99

Came for a late lunch/early dinner at around 3:30-4PM. Didn't order too much since we were pretty full. The Spicy Rice Cake with Fishcakes was the right level of mild spice! It had a small kick of spice with the sweet flavor. Yummy! The seafood pancake was super crunchy. I would come back to try their komtang!

This is a very homey Korean restaurant. The chadol komtang was light and comforting. The seafood pancake was crispy. The galbi jim was flavorful, but the sauce was more watery than what I had at other restaurants. There was no wait for a late lunch on Saturday. All the dishes were served quickly after ordering. The galbi jim took about 30 minutes, which the host told us about beforehand.

Great vibes, feels like a mom and pops shop. The food was excellent and generous. They only have one person taking orders and passing out the food but she's super speedy! Highly recommend!

3.5 STARS went on a wednesday evening for dinner. plenty of free parking in the plaza. homey interior, it wasn't too busy when we arrived but by the time we left, every table was full. there was only one middle aged korean lady bussing all the tables, so props to her for getting our food out in a timely manner. someone did eventually arrive to help towards the end of our meal - banchan is only kimchi and radish kimchi. these were ok and slightly over fermented so a little soft/not as crunchy - seafood pancake (4.5/5): pretty big serving! could feed 2-4 depending on what other items you get. lots of seafood and crispy which i find a lot of places struggle with - chicken bulgogi (3.5/5): solid, nothing crazy - ddukbokgi (3/5): rice cakes were the perfect texture, fish cakes were slightly thicker than normal/solid, wish the sauce was thicker and clung to the ingredients. it was more of a soupy sauce overall a solid spot for homey korean food. would come back to try their soups!

Seoul Komtang is the place to go for Korean food in the Tri-valley. It's a humble, hole in the wall restaurant in a small shopping plaza, but don't let that deter you, because hole in the wall restaurants are some the the best places to find good eats. If you go here on a weekend for dinner expect a bit of a wait, because it is a smaller restaurant with not much staff, however that doesn't stop the service from being good. Now let's talk food. Now if you're looking for a tofu soup fix, THIS IS THE PLACE YOU WANT TO BE. The beef soft tofu soup is the real deal. Seoul Komtang isn't stingy with the beef, and the soup comes with rice and an egg in it. However don't forget to let it cool down a bit or you might burn your tongue, the soup comes in hot. The chicken wings Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm The chicken wings are fire bro good eats. Not overly seasoned, however it doesn't leave more to be wanted. These chicken wings are super duper crispy man, great appetizer, doesn't take the shine away from the main entrees, also the chicken wings come in a large portion too, so enough for one person or to share with friends. My girlfriend likes to get the bibimbap or the number 1 which I will leave a photo of. She is also very happy with this restaurant, so gentlemen if you want your woman to leave a restaurant happy, once again THIS IS THE PLACE YOU WANT TO BE. The only issue I have with Seoul Komtang is that I wish I could eat more. Will be coming back again. TLDR; Good eats support your small businesses

    Crunchy rice!
    Felecia W.

Went again. Wished the hot stone bibimbap had enough rice so there could be some on top of the thin layer of crunchy rice. Some oil in the bowl would have made the dish look more fried and less bean sprouts so that you don't see stringy things everywhere. The other dishes were yum and the Kim chee was the best ever.

My friend treated me Gabi tang with Korean rice cake, mild spicy, it was so yummy. Do you still can do with rice cake instead of clear noodles?

Thank you for asking! We currently don’t offer rice cakes in our Galbi Tang. However, we do have a delicious Tteok Mandu Guk on our menu, which comes with Korean rice cakes and dumplings. We’d love for you to try it!

*** Vegetarian Review ***…read more Full disclaimer. I haven't been to the restaurant, but I've tried their vegan potstickers at the Kaiser Vallejo Farmers Market. So, since I wasn't able to find a check in for that market, I had to come here to sing their praises. 6 Vegan Potstickers at the market are $13. I recommend spending the $1 for chili oil. Not sure what they charge at the restaurant for these fried pockets of deliciousness, but I tell you if these taste this good at a farmers market, packaged in a box, and I wait 10 minutes before I find a seat in the hospital cafeteria, and it still tastes this good, the restaurant must be out of this world. The wrapper has a great thickness and offers a sticky and chewy bite. Pan fried still comes out after having these steam in a to go box, so the restaurant would probably make these pan fried babies have even more texture. Comes with a dipping sauce, but combine it with the chili oil if you can handle a little heat and Yes Chef!! I heard they are at the SF Ferry Building Market on Saturday and Walnut Creek Farmers Market on Sunday. Double check those, but finding a great vegan potsticker is not easy.

I've been a regular customer to their Tuesday and Saturday stands here, mostly getting baos and cucumbers. On a recent Tuesday market, I decided to finally try one of their meals, the beef brisket noodles (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=F898JOSr0cI8ap_p4gjr9w); it came with nicely cooked to order noodles topped with two bok choy leaves, a half of a soft boiled egg, and eight or nine tender pieces of beef. I was surprised that there was no sauce on this as there was enough flavor from the beef to pair well with the noodles. Simple, tasty, and perfect for my lunch. It is a bit pricy for the portion but the quality is there. Plus it's made to order. I'll continue to get the small bites for my friend and will try the other meals down the road.

It was early dinner time on a Friday evening and it wasn't overly crowded. All 6 of us got different items and overall it's a matter of preference for what kind of broth and protein you'd like that depicts the meal, the toppings are generally all the same. Consider this place to almost be a "make your own ramen" type of thing, in that you're given a platter of toppings to add to your bowl of steaming hot broth, mix it and let it sit, then voila! It's ready to eat. For a rainy winter evening, it was perfect to have some tasty noodle soup!

The portions were pretty generous. -grapefruit tea: thought it was pretty yummy! I also tried out the super fruit tea and i really liked it but personally found it to be a little too sweet. Not too much to displease though! I mixed some water and it was perfect for me. -tomato beef brisket noodle soup: i was surprised by how tender the meat was and how much they actually give you. If you love tomato soups as much as i do then it's definitely a great option! -takoyaki & lamb skewers: my sister had one dish from her combo order and i has my own but was able to try both! The lamb skewers were a bit smaller than expected but were flavorful with a fragrant aroma. The takoyaki came in about 5 balls and while they didn't include all typical takoyaki toppings it was still pretty good considering it came as a combo! Overall, i really loved coming by this place, my main concern is that it's actually in a pretty busy plaza so parking can be a little difficult during peak business hours. Otherwise it's located in a really great area relatively close to some shopping areas such as the Livermore outlets or even other smaller shopping plazas. Give this place a try if you're in the area and looking for a good eat without breaking the wallet!
