I work in Dublin, and this is one of my go to lunch spots. The vibe is very chill, service and quality here is always top notch and the food never misses. Their lunch special is great as well. I love the little sides that you get as well and they refill them very quickly if you run out. Definitely recommend coming here!

I have been to Young Dong Tofu House many times. I usually go for one of the Hot Stome Bowl Bibimbab choices. On the latest trip, I tried the B.B.Q. Rib with Cold Noodle ($35.99). The B.B.Q. Rib is Kalbi beef flanken-cut short ribs. They were hot and came separate from the cold noodles. Of course, there was a banchan assortment which was very satisfying. The service has always been good. The staff in the FOH pay attention and come over right away when you wave for them.

It's been a while since I came back to Young Dong Tofu House. It's fairly consistent. I like the variety of banchan they give - the potatoes are my favorite so I always ordered seconds. The fish banchan is unique and while I don't like fish with bones my friend was happy to have it all to himself. Service is quite good and are good about refilling the tea after you ask once. The dol sot bibimbap does not have a lot of rice other than the layer at the bottom but if you leave it alone it will crisp up which is the essential element of clay pot. The tofu stew is still very tasty.

The tofu soup at this location is probably the tastiest AROUND THIS AREA. I'm from Orange County so the bar is pretty high for me. Soon doo boo is my favorite food in the whole word so I find myself still coming back here despite the terrible service. I only give three stars generously because I keep coming back. One time, my friend, her very well behaved toddler and I came here and must have ordered almost $100 worth of food. We weren't there that long and had just finished eating, but people were waiting so the waitress, in the midst of rushing us out and telling us to leave because people were waiting, spilled a bunch of juice from the side dishes all over the front of my shirt and started apologizing and then proceeded to try to wipe it off me, greatly invading any sense of personal space. Then after all that, she told us to leave again. I was so incredulous I didn't return for a very long time. Another time I called ahead 15 minutes to ask if there was space for about 8 of us (we live 15 min away). She said she would make space for us in the back outside. When we arrived promptly in exactly 15 minutes, she told us that actually the owner decided to invite his family and that space wasn't available. If anyone could PLEASE PLEAAAASE open a tofu soup place in this area that tastes decent and has decent service, I would be the happiest person in the world and a true regular who would bring all friends there all the time.

*LOCATION* This homey korean restaurant has been here for as long as i can remember. It's located in the back corner of the plaza so likely easily missed. There's several restaurants and shops surrounding it but plenty of parking in the shared lot. *WAIT TIME* My friend and i visited last Friday ~6:30pm and it wasn't too busy yet so we didn't have to wait for a table. *FOOD* -Banchan: great variety, each person also gets a grilled corvina(?) which isn't common anymore! -Assorted tofu soup: piping hot and flavorful broth, generous meat and toppings, love that it still comes with an egg, not a fan of the rice though (mixed white/purple rice) -Seafood pancake: perfect crispy edges but the bottom middle got soggy pretty fast... or maybe we were just eating too slowly LOL *SERVICE* The waitress came by to take our orders soon after we sat down and the food came out shortly after. It's great that the service is always fast here. My friend and I chatted for a long time but we never felt rushed. *AMBIENCE* Definitely a mom and pop vibe, which we love supporting! It's a homecooked-meal type of place so nothing super fancy. Worth a visit on a cold rainy day :)

We've been coming here for over 10 years. The food is great. The staff is like family.

Probably the best Korean food in the east bay that I've tried! They give out several banchans which are refillable. Their tofu soup was really good. Very authentic and would definitely come again. Service was also very good as we went at an off time when it wasn't busy. Their lunch prices and specials only apply for Monday through Fridays!

Such a cozy, family-style spot! Everyone greeted us with big smiles, and the food was great -- authentic flavors. We usually go to Newark for Korean food, but we're so glad we found this hidden gem in Dublin. Tried the hot stone bibimbap, seafood pancake, and soon tofu soup -- all delicious! Definitely coming back.

This place is still my go to for tofu soup. The tofu soup here is packed with flavor. I love the banchan it comes with and the seafood pancake is crispy on the outside and oh so delicious. Bonus: the tofu soup comes with a small fried fish and purple rice. It is so hard to find a place that offers purple rice and definitely come early this place gets packed quickly.

We found this corner spot after craving soup and I'm so happy we went here. Inside was small yet cozy. Service was nice with 3 ladies working at the time. We got their combo tofu soup (beef, shrimp, and calms) and seafood pancake. Both tasted soo homey and rich in flavor. Tofu soup was probably one of the best I had. Their pancakes were chewy in the middle, crispy around the crust. (Very huge portion too). Side dishes were fresh and delicious. I would come back for sure.

We popped into Young Dong Tofu House on a cold evening, thinking it was a good spot for some soup. It's tucked away into a corner of a strip mall, it would be very easy to miss. It's definitely got the mom and pop/hole in the wall kind of vibe- nothing fancy here. But the dining room was pretty busy which is always a good thing since it is usually a good indicator the food is decent. We got the seafood pancake and japchae to share and I got soondubu for myself. The soondubu was solid, filling and warmed me up, just what I was expecting. The japchae was good as well and what I'd expect. I was a little disappointed in the seafood pancake as it seemed pretty doughy and a bit oily/greasy compared to other ones I've had. Overall a good experience- solid but not spectacular. A good option if you're looking for some home cooked Korean food.

We dropped in around 6:30pm on a Sunday and it was busy. But we didn't have to wait long for a table of 4. Food came out at a good pace. But when we asked if we can get refills on some of the side dishes, the waitress was like not all of them. Geez so stingy. But we told her we only wanted certain items. Don't get why some places are stingy with the side dishes. It's not like we will waste the food and not eat it all. And waitress forgot to bring out 2 purple rice for the other two people who orders tofu soups. Only received 1 rice and so we had to ask for rice. Besides that, the food we ordered were good though. We ordered tofu soups, seafood pancake, and kalbi. Everyone is given a small fried fish side dish.

I've been coming to this restaurant for over a decade, it's been such a staple for me, my friends, and my family. It's a consistent, no-frills, homey Korean restaurant that serves all of the classics. Service is kind and attentive, and the restaurant is always clean. It's also always busy, which is always a great sign. Last night, my family and I came here to celebrate a birthday, and the waitress (I didn't get her name, but she is always working!) was SO sweet. She made us feel so special, kept the birthday cake in the fridge until the end of the meal, and even sang happy birthday and took photos for us. It was the best and really made me appreciate the importance of kindness and community. Of course, the food was delicious! That goes without saying! Young Dong Tofu House will always be one of my favorite restaurants, and I'm a forever customer.

Solid 3.5 stars but on a different level than my local Korean tofu place Su Dong in PA. The sides weren't my favorite.

I ordered a 3 meat combo and wasn't completely disappointed but noticed a decline in quality. The burnt ends felt rushed. Had a chewy dry texture. This is frustrating because it used to be the sole reason I'd stop by, rednexican nachos with burnt ends! The jalapeno cheddar sausage was ok but was missing that snap. However, The wings were stellar! Parking in downtown Livermore on a Friday night should be an Olympic sport. I'll be back as it is Still one of the better spots for barbecue out of the slime options in the area.

The ambience always is great, good music, good crowds, always something to watch for those who just want to kick it and have a drink. The reason for the three star review is that I cant help but notice that the quality and portioning of food has diminished from prior experiences i had here in the past years. To make it worse, prices have only gone up due to inflation. We had the rednexican nachos, burnt ends, sliced brisket ends and fried oreos. The nachos and the fried oreos were great as usual, but the entrees, not so much. The temps were off and the taste was not there, it has not been for the past two visits for us. Not sure if it's the product itself or the preparation of it, but it's just not the same quality i was used to. It's still a good spot to visit, but I wouldn't recommend it as a go to BBQ spot in the Livermore area.

My friends and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night and I really appreciate the fact that they allow you to join their waitlist on their website. They have different tiers available, but there was enough choices on their Premium tier that we didn't feel the need to upgrade it to Supreme. Service was on top of things whether it was bringing us more dishes or refilling our water, and they changed the grill frequently. Overall, the cuts of the meat were great, the sauces at the table helped, and ordering is convenient with the tablet at the table. Ssam is a repeat visit for sure.
