Dinner is always great Every time we stop by Banta inn (which is mostly on Fridays so we can enjoy the clam chowder since it's the daily special and is so good!) Parking is never a problem and we always get our choice of seating right away! We love to have Tiffany as our server since she is such a superstar waitress, so lovely and always personable and accommodating. We've been there when she's been the only server in the whole place taking care of everyone in the joint as well as when it was pretty dead and we were the only ones there and she consistently provides stellar service! The food is so flavorful and tastes like home cooking! We love getting some of our favorite things every-time as well as mixing it up and adding in things we haven't tried yet and the food always tastes wonderful.

Hubby and I wanted to come in to see this historical place and have a small bite to eat. Our server was very welcoming and friendly. It was a little busy so there was a short wait no problem. We were able to walk around and look at everything. Just wish I was able to look at a binder they like to pass around tables with lots of history. We ordered a personal pizza and garlic fries. Was so hungry I forgot to post pics of our food. But we will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Love everything about this place!

This is the place to be. Great farm fresh food with big country plates of food. Come hungry and don't be a city folk.

Linguica and eggs is now $9.99. Toast was soaked with butter. Hash browns were greasy. Coffee and service was great.

Hour of arrival was around 5pm. We were greeted by Natalie and welcome in. We sat at the bar. Shortly after we were greeted by Caroline. We spoke about what brought us here. I explained to her i saw thier Yelp page and a pictures of a pizza caught my eye. She explains in detail of what she is doing with this style of pizza and the ingredients she uses. We were sold. We ordered 3 new haven style pizza or apizza as advertised. We ordered the Mozz , Margherita and one not on the menu Pepperoni hot honey apizza. This is the order she suggested we have them and we complied. I'm no expert of new haven style pizza but I'll watched enough Dave Portnoy to maybe not necessarily be a judge but to recognize what makes a apizza. Let me start by saying these pizzas were delicious. As for the characteristics of a new haven there were some. I'll let you be the judge by the picture or your own experience dinning here. We tried all 3 as they were coming out the oven and also tried them with Caroline customizations. In short they elevated the apizza. She also mentioned she puts some parmigiano reggiano on her pizza and has a big wheel of it in the back which I didn't get the chance to see and take a picture. None the less another thing to like about her pizza.. Natalie crafted some fine spirits for us to accompany our pizzas although I wish they were a bit more unbalanced in a good way but then again the are mixed drink. The ambiance was great with Contemporary jazz playing. I like jazz so it was delightful. If you are at the bar you may need to talk a little louder to your friend. 3 pizzas 5 mixed drinks plus tip $190. I will certainly be back with my wife I think she will like the Alfredo pasta. Caroline signature dish. Heavy cream she says.

Mother's Day dinner was a pure shit show with this place. We…read moreknew it'd be busy so we ordered "to go" from the app. First issue: the app does not take orders over $125. We're a big family so I ended up splitting it into 3 orders. Second issue: because I split the order, an item 3 members wanted kept going out of stock. The prime rib 16oz then the 14oz then the 12oz (only 2 of the 3 went thru on the order). Third issue: I went a few minutes just before the "scheduled" pickup time to pay the orders (app only took Apple Pay, giftcard, or pay at pickup). At this point I haven't gotten a call or text about my order. It's my turn up to the counter ("to go" pickup is outside) and ask about any possible available prime rib and she says they're out. I figure ok at least we got the 2 for the to-go order. I informed her that I have 3 to-go orders from the app. She goes to check on the orders and returns to inform me that they are COMPLETELY out of prime rib and had cancelled them from one of the orders. So basically 2 family members weren't getting dinner. ME being one of them. On mf MOTHER'S DAY! I kept my cool and proceeded to order dinner replacements. At this point we were 20min past the "scheduled" pickup time of 7:45pm and the orders still weren't ready. I asked the gal if I had ordered in the morning for pickup for dinner, would that have guaranteed the prime rib? She flat out said "Nope. We run out whenever we run out." Basically the app does not match up to their inventory and they don't hold anything for online/app orders. It's all first-come-first-served regardless of when you order. In other words the app is useless. Fourth issue: It seemed we had finally gotten the orders straight. All combined orders totaled over $300. I asked if I could get a discount since they cancelled part of my order without letting me know. They gave me my $12 appetizer free. I asked if I could get 10% off since the replacement dinners were more. About another $10 off. I thought whatever $22 off and still paid over $300 combined. Fifth issue: I asked how long for the order with the replacement steaks and she said should be quick about 20-30min. That seemed quick for how busy they were. So I waited. Not that I had a choice. 45 MINUTES LATER... Our food is finally ready and I'm still composed. I am at the counter and get the 3 huge bags. I start looking through them to try and make sure I have everything cause again it was multiple orders and I live 25-30min away. It was 9pm and so I'm trying to quickly go through the bags. Half the containers are soggy and cold. I think these might have been ready when I got there, but they're wanted me to wait until everything was ready. During the chaos the gal behind the counter asks me to move over cause they're backed up so she can help the next person. I tell her "I waited. They can wait." The lighting outside sucks. I can barely make out what's in each container. She again tells me to move to the side. I'm annoyed at this point and say "Ma'am I'll move when I'm ready." She calls over some shift mgr and tells her I won't move. That B of a mgr slams the window shut. At that point I was like F it. There's not enough room or light for me to check everything so I leave. Last issue: of course a bunch of sides are missing and some made incorrectly. By the time we tally up the damage the place was closed and no one is answering the phone. Cold, soggy food. Unhappy family. And a pissed off mom... on Mother's Day. I usually genuinely like Texas Roadhouse. Food is good. Service is ok, but yesterday they were crap through and through. Going today to get a refund of all the missing sides and extras that we never got.

The other location in Buellton closed a while ago so I think this maybe the only one left. Could be the original but I'm not sure. Just off the 5 heading north. We stopped by for a quick bite before heading back on the road. Mid week which wasn't that busy. It's been so long ago that I didn't remember what the inside looked like. As we had our little pup with us, they were able to accommodate us. There's three entrance from the front area. Main being the one that leads you to the restaurant. Another is from the gift shop side and we also noticed people coming in from the side of the bar. One side is the restaurant which we looked at but ended up at the bar section. Which happened to be happy hour happening. Didn't know they had that to offer. Bar area was pretty quiet when we were there but it did pick up. There's also patio seating right outside there. Main menu pretty much has as everything but we just opted for some happy hour bites for now. Drink special was offered both for draft and bottle as well as cocktails and wine. Food menu, they were limited on that but the usual were offered. Both cup or bowl of the famous soup was available. Half order of the potatoes skin, onion rings and wings were available as well as the quesadillas. Soup was decent but could have been hotter. Onion rings, and the wings were ok. Good nothing major to rave about. Both served with ranch sauce. I also picked up some dessert from the counter which looked great. Happy hour items were decent for the price. The service for the whole place was great. All The staff and waitress were very friendly and helpful. Our waitress who was also the bartender was a major doll. She was very sweet. As well as all the ladies on the restaurant side. Very accommodating to us. Overall, it was a cute stop off for a quick bite. Cute gift shop that's worth a wandering around. Plenty of parking available.

With as many signs on the freeways as Andersen's has in California promoting their famous split pea…read moresoup, one would think they would be prevalent everywhere. In reality, there are/were only two: the original location (and now closed since 2024) in Buellton and this location in Santa Nella. It turned out that we needed to take a break and gas up around lunchtime very close by, so decided to stop in for lunch. It ended up being OK. This second location has been open since 1976 and is located in a huge building with tons of seating and a large retail space. It has a separate downstairs dining room (available if your party is large), a large bar in the back (open during lunch though only one person was in there), and an upstairs not accessible during lunchtime. We came at exactly 11:00 and they had begun serving lunch. We were led to our seats, and someone came by with water. There seemed to be some confusion on who was supposed to serve us, and we were ignored for a while, even as other folks were being seated. Finally, a waitress came back (guessing she wasn't our original one, but had to pivot) and took our order. Not particularly friendly in the beginning (ended up being talkative at the end as my wife had struck up a conversation), but got our order correct. The food came out soon after, and it was served all together and was still warm when we got them. My wife and I have been to the Andersen's in Buellton and had slightly different memories of how good the split pea soup was. We ordered a cup ($6.99), and didn't even have to tell the waitress what kind of soup we wanted. The soup was good for the first couple spoonful, but didn't end up finishing it; glad we ordered a small cup. My wife and her mom split a Teriyaki Chicken dinner ($21.50) and they liked it: nothing fancy, just one chicken breast grilled and topped with bottled teriyaki sauce and a pineapple slice. I got the Danish Style Meatloaf ($21.99, was planning to share with my wife) and it seemed well made with generous portions, but neither of us liked it (the pork/beef mixture with breadcrumbs was very finely ground and reminded me of a mealy German sausage without the casing). Both the soup and meatloaf would have been good as small samples from a buffet while grazing, but are difficult as a main course for our taste. Both plates came with a from-frozen vegetable medley (broccoli, carrots, and zucchini), along with a rice pilaf for the chicken plate. We did buy some trinkets at the gift shop. I wanted to get a Danish, but ended up sharing a Cinnamon Crisp, a giant cookie covered in cinnamon sugar. It was really good, definitely worth the $5.50 price.
