One of the most best places I've ever eaten at great service the food is 10/10 ambiance was great.

I wanted to try Banyan since it opened. I finally made it there and left with mixed feelings. First, upon entering, the restaurant looked clean. The prices and Banyan's rules and regulations are posted near the counter. I noticed that some of their prices had changed. Banyan circulated flyers when they first opened. I had received one and saved it because there was a 15% off total order coupon. The new prices listed on the wall showed an increase of $2 for lunch, dinner, and weekend all day. Once we were seated, our drink orders were taken. Our server seemed confused and was not well organized. She couldn't keep track of who had already ordered. The food was ok. I tried the beef, fish, green beans, and fried plantain. I had some salad and half of a boiled egg. The service was not great. One of the servers, while clearing the table, leaned over one of my family member's food to get a plate that was out of reach. Not cool! When it was time to receive our checks, we advised one of the workers that one person in our party did not eat and was to only be charged for a drink. She proceeded to yell across the entire dining area to ask whether or not he ate. WOW! My coupon was honored at checkout. There was an automatic group gratuity added due to our party of 10 people. I actually enjoyed it. Plenty of options to choose from ! The hibachi station was a really cool idea, just didn't want to wait in line. The Sushi station was my Favorite S/O to the chef! ( I think his name was Justin but not 100% sure ) The staff was super attentive and cleaned up the plates super quick. It wasn't a lot of people there yet so that was good for me ! Big big space! What I went here as part of the soft opening. I like that there are different selection of foods like dimsum - good or bad... well, there was a selection of like chicken feet, pig feet, har gaw, rice rolls, pork ribs. I thought the chicken feet were good, others were ok. There is a wide selection of other foods - including some western food and western style asian food. There is also a sushi area - though more rolls. And a Pho/noodles soup bar. Environment This is located inside a plaza on the end. There is plenty of parking available. The inside the food area is in the center and the seating is on the edge. This buffet is new and still in soft opening until the end of August. It's spacious and consistently clean. The whole vibe is pretty inviting. They have a selection of classic American style Chinese dishes (ala happy family and seafood delight), dim sum (like sticky rice and custard buns), and other Asian staples (fish, duck, beef). They have a couple extra soup choices including pho base. Lastly, they offer a variety of sushi options too. At this location, you pay ahead of time (as well as tip). And the servers were good about clearing plates in a timely manner. I took off one star simply because the sushi was just not good. Both myself and my eating partner tried it. Mostly the rice used was old and stale. A couple of other pieces tasted like they had been out for a while. Overall, I would still recommend trying this place out if you are on the west side of town. I went during soft opening for dinner (about $21 and change with tax) and was a bit nervous as i kept seeing reviews about the food being lukewarm or cold. At any buffet, you can tell when things have been sitting out for awhile. In my experience, everything i had was hot! From where I sat, I saw the workers continuing looking at the food and replacing. The place is nice and kept clean. My server was very attentive. Sushi was okay. Some pieces I had, the rice was a bit hard. Meaning it was out for a bit. I really liked the Dynamite roll though. They had many options as your normal food you will get at a buffet, including hibachi. Yet they had a bunch of different soups and you can create your own pho bowl. If you love seafood, this is the only Chinese buffet that I ever been to that had blue crabs instead of snow crabs. I teared those up!! And they had the crabs by it self whole, then in a seafood boil and in another way. I never truly care for desserts at buffets cause that's where things truly lack. They had cakes, cookies, and basic Hershey styrofoam cups ice cream. I did sea They had some fruits and jello. I never heard of lychee jello before and I was blown away by it! Very clean and modern. The service was amazing - they made sure our drinks were refilled and plates cleared. The food is a 7/10 overall. I was slightly disappointed at first but the food was ten times better when i grabbed it freshly restocked. My first plate had warm and soggy food. This is my 4th visit. I hate the sushi guy. He has such an attitude. Speaks as if you're inconveniencing him or rushing him no matter what you say/don't say, whether you stand or walk away. And he is terrible on the grill. The meat is already dead. No need to kill it again. Drenched in teriyaki and garlic, he makes hibachi terribly. But that's usually the case when food is not made with love and instead with an attitude. I love the server Ai Ling so much. I make a point to try to sit with her. The restaurant has a nice ambiance. But the floors are always sticky. The workers are so good at replenishing the buffet. The host isn't friendly. Before you can make it to the counter good enough she's rushing over saying hello to ask how many and if you'd like to purchase a drink. I really enjoyed this buffet compared to some of the other ones in the Orlando area because they have some unique dishes that I have never seen at other buffets. Some of the dishes that I have not seen at other buffets includes tripe, chicken feet and rice dumpling. There are definitely more that I can't remember at the top of my head and some other dishes that I might have not recognized, like there might have been pork hock also. I have seen previous reviews about issue regarding the warm of the food, but I did not feel like I had a problem with that at all. Sushi selection is not huge, what little there was, was not bad. Service was great. We paid before being seated and our table was cleared out very fast every time we went up to grab another place. I also love how spacious the place was. read more

I'm a sucker for Asian buffets and this was one of the newer ones that popped up in Orlando and I knew I had to give it a try. I went twice and honestly it's as good as $20 will get you. There's plenty of options which I love but the quality of the food is just subpar. I do really appreciate the lobster tail option on the weekends. The ambiance is really nice and I appreciate how spacious it is. Despite that, we were still seated closely to other guests which I didn't prefer. The service is awesome and they were attentive to our refills and needs. This place is worth checking out once or if you're in the area and are itching for affordable Asian American buffet to satisfy those cravings. read more

This was such a lovely time! There are so many food options to choose from. There is so much staff working to refill food stations, make fresh food and answer questions. The servers come by frequently and refill your waters or pick up plates. The staff doesn't push you to leave. The ambiance is decent, it's not very beautiful but there is ample seating and space. This place is very nice and clean! You pay when you first walk in. We immediately got sat to our table and then it was time to try the food. I always start off with hibachi and they had many options to choose from. This is the first place that has meatballs as an option for hibachi. There were so many soups to choose from. I loved how they had fresh hot soy bean milk unsweetened. The Mongolian beef was delicious. There was a variety of dim sum from chicken feet to tribe and sticky rice roll. I saw posts and reviews for this buffet on Facebook. We tried it for dinner. I don't understand what the rave is. I left this place with my stomach gurgling all night. So you pay before you sit down when you walk in. Dinner on weekends was 19.99 per person. It wasn't busy so we got seated right after we paid. There is a variety of food here. Americanized Chinese options, sushi, soups, dim sum. Some things did look good. I got some of the lobster, fried crab, fried fish, steamed fish, rice cakes, cabbage, green beans, honey shrimp, steam ribs, egg drop tomato soup, some of the chicken dishes. I am not sure what made my stomach turn. It was towards the end of my meal. A lot of the meats were tough and dry. My boyfriend took a bite of the seaweed salad and it was room temperature. It's suppose to be cold. I did not try any of the sushi options. Some of the lobsters were easy to get out of the shell. I have dined at other Chinese places where they stir fry the lobster the same way but it's so difficult to get any meat out. They were over cooked and some of the meat was stuck to the shell though. I did like the stir fried rice cakes. I had to stir it around because it was a little hard on the top when I was scooping it up at the buffet. The cabbage and the green beans were really good. For dessert we did the lychee jello and some fruit. Lychee jello was really good. Best thing I ate at the restaurant. Service was ok. Our waitress came and took our plates and refilled water frequently. Because I had stomach issues after my meal, I do not think I will come back. read more

You get charged before getting service or setting the food so that was an immediate red flag but I ignored that. Honestly everything just kinda a looked old or cold or just unappetizing. We went for my sons 17th birthday, the inside is a total vibe! It's beautiful, the food was okay, most was cold, for the price I was thinking there was real crab legs. Just blue crab and it was $50 for 2 people, the sushi chef was amazing, he gifted my son a huge sushi plate that said happy birthday, I asked multiple times if it was extra money, he said "no it's on the house" mind you this is a buffet so I assumed I can take the sushi home, she charged me $14 for a Togo plate. Give us the bill for a tip and hands me my receipt since we paid as we walked in. Then I thank everyone and they chase me outside screaming about 10 pieces of sushi. We heard about Banyan City via social media and decided to check it out. It seems like these Chinese/Japanese buffets are popping up all over the place and i'm not mad about it! It's located on West Colonial, in Pine Hills area at the end of a big shopping plaza. We arrived at dinnertime on a Saturday night and thankfully did not have to wait for a table for six. On the weekends the buffet is $20 which you can't hardly eat out for $20 anymore, muchless all you can eat. The check in area was a little chaotic with no real structure, everyone was just standing around and we ended up getting skipped but we were still seated within 5 minutes of our arrival. Once seated our server brought us silverware and water, that was about it. He didn't greet us or give us any instructions about the buffet. The buffet includes your typical Chinese buffet dishes, sweet and sour chicken, general tso, lo mein, etc etc. In addition there is sushi, hibachi, seafood and desserts. I did not try the hibachi but I did try the sushi and many of the Chinese dishes as well as a couple dessert items. The hot items were very good, better than other buffets we've tried recently. The sushi was ok. It was room temperature or a little warmer which was a little off putting and the variety wasn't great. I did not try any of the seafood dishes. The dessert selection was good, it was enough to satisfy that need for something sweet after a meal. They have an ice cream freezer that has little cups of ice cream in it. It was a complete disaster. It was messy, with cups that had leaked then froze again, cups strewn about and just general disorder. I took one peek inside and decided against it. From the outside, you wouldn't expect it to look the way it looks. When you walk in, it's like walking into the future. They were very accommodating since we had 10+ people, and they took our drink orders right away. Now, it may not look like a lot of food, but the quality is definitely on the better side than a lot of Asian buffets, especially the sushi and the hibachi table. The sushi chef was super nice, and he told me himself that he puts his passion and soul behind every roll. And it showed, the flavor profiles were divine, and to make it even better, he knew I appreciated his work, so he made me a fresh eel roll. To start , I am a chef of 40 years currently working in Orlando . The first thing I looked for as I always do in a Buffet is cleanliness and , I was actually surprised at how clean this establishment is , all the foods were properly covered , the serving tongs were changed out and spotless , and plates and dishes were stored properly and clean with the food temperatures seemingly at the right temps with staff mixing and stiring the foods regularly to ensure proper food temperatures , I was quite suprised at this , 5 stars for cleanliness . GOOD JOB . I was impressed with the veriety of foods including some dishes that I would not have expected like chicken feet which I love , steamed pork, and steamed pork rib.The menu items were vast from different style dumplings , fresh to order noodle dishes , sauces , desert items and much more . Now on to the whole crab and craw fish , oh my goodness . Both items were fresh and delicious , you can EASILY get your monies worth on just those two items oh , and I didnt mention that the price was only $20 , you can easily eat $20 on just the crab and craw . All the food was well prepared and tasty , in short , I would highly recommend Banyan city Buffet to anyone looking for a good meal at a more than reasonable price , 5 stars for sure .
