We haven't ordered In a while as our favorite jalapeño chicken hasn't been available. But we saw it tonight and had to order. We had wonton soup (because there's is one of the best), jalapeño chicken, garlic shrimp and Szechuan beef. They as always where all phenomenal. Because 3 of us where eating we ordered two large soups. This was all together $50 which I think is a great price for the quality and amount of food we have. We have leftover soup as well as a lot of the three dishes we ordered. I need to add the amount of meat in each entree is way more than most places. And all three of the dishes where spicy like they should be and they even sent us hot sauce in case it wasn't spicy enough. Okay, so like many people I always have a New Year's resolution to eat better so naturally I'm on a diet now, but one of my biggest guilty pleasures of all time is a good ol' Chinese buffet. Being that it was December 31st, I had to find one because, "New Year New Me" wasn't allowing myself back into one for a while (maybe). Anwho I hopped on old faithful here and found La China Blue Chinese Restaurant. From the outside and the location, to be honest, I almost left. I don't live in Orlando, but the plaza didn't feel the safest, but I figured, one: I'm hungry and two: what's the absolute worst that could happen at around 6pm on New Year's Eve? I go inside and still had a weird feeling. The place kind of feels like a Ponderosa or like a old steakhouse inside and not so much on the Chinese buffet side. I did notice pretty quickly that the buffet was pretty stocked and very clean, that was a sigh of relief honestly. I asked the waitress for an iced tea and she laughed and said they didn't have iced tea which was ironic because she was standing in front of two iced tea machines that were presumably broken? Anhow, I got a Mountain Dew as any good American does, took myself to the buffet and began to peruse. One thing to note is that they don't bring you silverware, it's located on the buffet. That took me a few minutes and a question to the server to figure out. Like I mentioned earlier, the buffet was really clean. I liked that they had Sesame Chicken on the buffet, which typically I don't see anywhere. I was a fan of their fried rice and their Crab Rangoon. I also liked their Sweet and Sour Chicken; especially the sauce that accompanies it. Not so much a fan of their wonton soup. I did not like the broth at all. Overall things were really tasty on the buffet. Temperature was pretty warm considering the buffet was not busy and presumably not being used much. Staff constantly cleaning the area. I was waited on pretty attentively and the woman who I assume to be the manager checked in on me a few times to make sure everything was going according to my plan which I appreciated for sure. Looks definitely deceived me here. Going into it I assumed I was in for something truly not good, but overall things were pretty good here. If you're in the area and need some Chinese food, definitely check it out. Come in or get it to go- either way I'm sure it's going to be pretty good. read more

My partner commented that many of the positive reviews were from folks with little to no stars. So I'm a real person. I think this place was decent given the prices. The buffet is 8.99. Folks, you can't get an American Chinese food combo plate for less than that. But you get a whole buffet. Your opinion of the quality of food has to take that into account. So for me the green beans were great, I ate a whole plate. The crab rangoon and plantains were also good. Stuff I didn't like was the hot and sour soup because it was was too sour for me. The spicy seafood salad was too chewy. The low mein was dank. My partner had the shrimp which were difficult to peel meaning they were overcooked. Weirdly they only have pre sweetened tea. In New Orleans they have switched to unsweetened as the standard. Anywho. I feel like there are enough tasty options to eat to your full and for cheap to have 2.8 stars. Typical Chinese buffet with a bunch of different meat and veggie choices. We were immediately seated because the place was empty when we got there (just before 5 pm). A lot of the food seemed like it had been out for awhile but the things we tried were still pretty good. My only food related complaint was the rice, because if you leave that in the warmer too long it starts to crisp, and parts of it were definitely doing that, so that was unpleasant. Really great option if you're on a budget and need a quick meal, as it's only $6.99 per person, with drinks adding only an extra 99 cents. read more

Not exactly sure who wrote the other reviews, but this place was terrible. Went at 1pm and was one of only 2 tables inside and half of the entrees were empty with no sign of being refilled. Asked for hot tea, they had none. Asked for unsweetened iced tea, they had none. Wound up with ice water. The entrees they did have were okay. Nothing special, not horrible. But, even asking if they were going to refill the salt and pepper shrimp or the shrimp with vegetables fell on deaf ears. read more

I have seen this spot, pass it daily for work. I docked tonight was the night to try. The place is kept clean on this visit. The host is very nice and warm I her greeting. You can tell she is in tune with the community and customers that I seen as I placed my order. I had to get my usually; egg fu young, shrimp that is.. it was out in no time at all. The price with Crab Rangoon was 13.00. If I have opted for the buffet it would have cost 8.99. I have to say the food is good but I have had better. This restaurant is a hidden gem. They are a very good everyday Asian buffet. Sure, it's not a premium Chinese place, basically, take out + buffet service but it's hard to find a Chinese restaurant you can actually dine in every day and not getting enough. The downside is the location. It's in a mostly Latino area and not many locals seem appreciating their foods, so the buffet foods tend to be left a long time. This was my first time at this establishment. I am not from Orlando but I came here for lunch from Universal Studios. From the outside this establishment looks like a very shady place. But when you walk inside, it isn't that bad. The place is clean from the inside. It's a very quiet and self-serve place. You get your food yourself, obviously cause it's a buffet, but you also get your silverware yourself as well. The servers only offer you drinks, serve you ice cream, and pick up your discarded plates. They have a good selection for the food entree. The only problem that I have is the temperature of the food. The food look like it's warm, maybe even hot, while it's sitting in the tray but looks can be deceiving. The food was cold by the time I got to my table to eat. They have soup included in the buffet, but even that was cold. The only food that was the temperature it's supposed to be was the ice cream... I came here with my sister and my mom. My sister didn't like the food either and my mom was also complaining about the temperature of the dishes. My mom had their clams dish and said that they didn't clean it properly... that she could still taste the dirt... Another complain my mom had was their fried shrimp had the head and tail attached and wasn't even divined. Overall, the food taste-wise isn't bad, especially considering the prices. Would I come here again? Probably not. I would really recommend them to make sure their food is warm at least because I feel as if this factor affects their rating very much. read more

I ordered from Uber Eats semi-late last night. I was not expecting anything worthwhile AT ALL. Being honest? I had had some drinks and just wanted some food. I have ordered around town, especially Chinese, and have had mostly OK experiences. I'll get into it! Steamed pork dumplings, crab rangoon, Mongolian beef. The crab rangoon were very standard, but good! Not greasy. And had the "traditional" star fold. Thumbs up! The dumplings? OMG!!! I literally have not had this good of a steamed dumpling in a long time!!! Totally not gummy, really good ratio of wrap to filling, super tasty! A++++ Mongolian beef was really good, not fabulous, but I was not disappointed at all. I was hoping for some spice, but it wasn't spicy. The order was not deplete of meat and veggies. Give this place a shot. Sure, it's got low quantities of everything on the buffet but, who could blame 'em? It's less wasteful so I'm okay with it. The personnel is nice and the food is good. Let's get the obvious out of the way. This new, bright-eyed crew is taking over a well-worn spot in a not great stretch by the high school, and it's not my favorite place to find parking (the spots it has are limited and shares with the grocery plaza). I want this place to succeed SO BAD! The first time I ordered take out, and when I walked in it was this spotless, bright delicious looking buffet. The ladies at the counter are so nice and accommodating. I almost just started digging in- it all looked delicious. Also, check-in! they have a coupon for the dining room. The second time we got delivery and it was prompt, perfect and (I know this is small but it bugs me when it's missing) he had a pen and writing surface for me to complete my bill. The hot and sour soup is the best I've had in years and the Mongolian beef had mushrooms that are HUGE. We'll definitely be ordering again, and I can't wait to try the buffet. UPDATE: had the buffet. I was looking for a new Chinese rest because the one I was going to they stopped wearing mask. I ordered from La China Blue on my way home one day just to try it and it was amazing. I have ordered there every Thursday since. The lady at the front is so sweet and always gets my order right. The chef is amazing as well. At first i was skeptical of walking in but after going inside and seeing the Food i decided to stay. Let me start off by saying the place is extremely clean and newly refurbished inside. The waitress was very nice and attentive. This is one of the few buffets that even have crab rangoon. For 8.99 i ate as much crab-rangoon's and wings as possible. When I walked in I was the only one in the restaurant, I should have known then to turn around and walk out. I recently, 3/7/17, was driving by and noticed the newly opened La China Blue Chinese Restaurant on Oak Ridge Rd in Orlando. They offer an all you can eat buffet for $6.99 including drink during lunch. I was curious and decided to check it out. The outside of the building doesn't look very appealing but inside was clean, spacious with modest a decor. I was the only customer for lunch. The buffet had a reasonable array of offerings including chicken, beef, pork and shrimp dishes. Everything was well prepared and tasted very good. The raspberry ice tea was especially good. Right before Hurricane Irma, I was in the area trying to find a good Chinese Restaurant to bring my mom, who's in the hospital, Won Ton Soup. I found La China Blue through Yelp, which is where I find the best restaurants. I was right again, because when I got here, I found out (for the time being) the lunch buffet is just $5.99.
