Another time I had an acai bowl with almond butter and I felt like it needed more agave or fruit Bc it was lacking flavor. So I stick with my go to pitaya bowl the "V-Land bowl". Banzai bowls has been around for forever now it seems and I can see all the splatter from smoothies or bowls on the ceilings which is kinda nasty. My discovery for açaí bowls is Thanks to Banzai Bowls almost 10 years ago. I want to say. I can totally understand the hype & the long wait here for Banzai bowls. They can get pretty backed up w orders and the time it'll take to get your order. Can be up to an hour on a busy weekend day! Great during summer beach days. Perfect on a Hot day, it's so refreshing and also great for bfast, lunch or even dinner. Late night treat lol. So whenever I'm going to Newport Beach, I'd try to get my Banzai bowl fix! Especially to enjoy on the beach. It's the Perfect treat! They give so much for a large size. I feel like the large size is the only way to go man. It can be easily shared since it's filled up to the top. My daughter & husband enjoys Açaí bowls also so figured we'd tackle this together. Love they do have an indication sample cup at the front counter to show the size, since they use the same cup for wether you order a small or a large. My all time and usual fav is ~Maui Sunrise~ The blend is to perfection and topped it off w Granola, blueberries, bananas, strawberry, coconut shreds & honey. Highly recommended ~Maui Sunrise~ ONLY ONE I'Ve actually tried here. Next time I'll try the Pitaya bowls. The açaí bowl itself is a lot. So when I'm at home, i add my own honey granola & strawberries along w bananas to fill up on the toppings since my toppings is what goes out 1st since i take a bite of it with each spoonful of goodness. They use fresh fruits! Parking might be a little hard to find since it's in a small corner plaza w other small businesses. They do have an ap for you to make ordering easier or online. I love Banzai Bowls and usually go to the huntington location for my fix. But since I was in the area, I went to the nearest location. This location has a terrible parking lot and part of it is one way only. And the wait? THE WORST!!! When we came in to order, there was no one in line. But apparently, all the orders were backed up, even with 4 workers in the back. The seating area became full of guests (half of them ordered online but still their order wasnt ready) and door dashers waiting for their acai bowls. We waited for half an hour for 1 acai bowl. 1. The shift leader for today (Wed) was incredibly rude and disrespectful. 2. The order was made incorrectly for my fiancé and she discovered this upon coming home to me. 3. We phoned to speak with a manager to see about making the situation right and were instead given to the "shift leader." 3. Instead of being helpful, courteous, and making it right, I was insulted and accused of lying. 4. The shift leader refused to provide his name 5. We had to drive back and demand a refund. 6. After returning to the store, he escalated the situation, further provoking my anger, and it got heated, with both of us arguing unnecessarily. 7. Two other male customers misunderstood the specifics of the scenario and proceeded to step up into my personal space and lean in and yell and behave in a physically threatening manner I am offended by the snarky, arrogance of the shift leader who only had to have a modicum of diplomacy in order to deescalate the situation. Not all Acai bowls are made equal and if you haven't already experienced all that is Banzai Bowls, then you need to plan a trip out there! First off, parking here is tight. There are quite a few restaurants in this plaza so it can be quite scarce and incredibly difficult to back in or out of the stall. Second, if you don't have the app on your phone yet then do it if you want to save time on ordering. They used to have a rewards program but nixed it and created an app. I don't think there are rewards in it yet which is kind of a bummer... but it definitely does help with the line issue. It seems like no matter when I go out here, banzai bowls is always busy. You can definitely find yourself waiting 20 minutes for a bowl if not longer if you do not call ahead or order online. Even calling can be difficult as they only have one phone. Don't say I didn't warn you! One thing I like is that you can choose your size, regular or large. I find that regular is just right but large can be good for two people if they want to split. You can either have Acai blended with hemp milk for a creamier taste or apple juice for a sweeter one. You can certainly modify some of the toppings as well if you don't like some of the ingredients. Pricing here is standard to all competitors in the area but I love the taste here plus its close location to the beach and my office! I decided to give this açaí place a try because I've heard many good things about it & without a doubt this was the worst experience I've had at an açaí bowl place. Everyone, just save your time & energy & go to TRU Bowl (the best açaí in town!!!) or even Nekter which is down the street from Banzai. The girl who made my bowl waited 10 minutes until she started on my bowl simply because she was "closing down the juice machine". & I was the ONLY customer in there. My bowl could've easily been done in 5 minutes. I manage a coffee shop & know that customers always come first. Closing procedures can wait..especially when I ordered at 5:30pm and they close at 8pm. & on top of that the bowl was $18. Kind of overpriced in my opinion. & she just stuck the spoon in there. How am I supposed to eat with a spoon that is full of açaí & almond butter?? Make it make sense please! Almost asked for a refund because of how unsatisfied I was at that point. My all time favorite place when I'm craving a pitaya or acai bowl. I love how they have a different option if you are not into acai. My go to is always the V-land bowl which has pitaya. But I've also had their acai bowls. Fruits look fresh and their bowls are delicious especially on a hot day. Sometimes, I prefer to have this for brunch or lunch rather than a heavy breakfast. Feels lighter and healthy. Small is around $12 and the large is $14. I usually get a size small which is perfect portion for myself, but they do have the large size as well. So far I haven't ran into any issues with them like a few of the other reviews. I usually order takeout and schedule it and it is usually always on time and ready a few minute before or by the pick up time. The other location I have been to is the Huntington Beach location as well if you want a beach view while enjoying your acai or pitaya bowl. Definitely recommend! read more

Came here for the first time after being told it was good. Bonzai bowl did not disappoint at all! The wait was a little long for 2 bowls and no customers which is why this is 4 stars instead of 5stars. However, it was worth the wait. You get a big portion for what you order and the amount of fruit they give you is not stingy at all. I love that they drizzle a little bit of honey on top and the sprinkles bee pollen makes for a nice touch. Between the açaí and the pitaya, the pitaya is a bit more refreshing than the açaí. It's also colder. They use a mix of açaí and dragon fruit which I believe causes them to use more ice hence making it more refreshing and lighter. (I prefer açaí more than the pitaya). Overall a great experience, the customer service was amazing as well. I forgot to order mine in a large and I asked the server to change it from regular to large. I've been to Banzai Bowls before, but this was my first time at this location. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was very busy. Surprisingly, there wasn't a line to order, but it took about 25 minutes for me to get my bowl. While waiting, it became obvious that the employees weren't operating in the most efficient way. I understand taking your time when there isn't a rush, but when there are easily 20 people waiting for their bowls, you would hope there would be a more efficient assembly line. One of the other customers who had been waiting the entire time I was there checked on the status of her bowls and was met with a pretty rude answer. I have a feeling this place doesn't care about the quality of its service because it knows that everyone is obsessed with Banzai Bowls and will keep coming back.
