Best consistently tasty and well-prepared Chinese food in Binghamton ( actually it's in Vestal). Delicious! You will want to get takeout, it's not a place you want to sit inside at the small tables. Also it is a tiny building, perched in a small lot on the north side of Vestal parkway with limited parking space. Be careful, it is easy to drive past it in the dark - the sign was also in disrepair so it was hard to see. read more

I went to New York for a family trip. The family wanted to eat some sushi so we stopped here. The food was absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS!! It was really yummy and you need to try it. The service was really good aswell, the staff were all nice and they helped me out. The atmosphere was alright, it wasn't the best but it was definitely doable. It was a really good $78 spent! This place is a HIDDEN GEM. Best sushi and appetizers, and the prices are reasonable for the rather large portions! This is a family owned restaurant and feels like such. Excellent sushi. You can tell the fish is cold and fresh by its proximity to the owner at the register; she exudes an off-putting chilliness that suggests you should take your business elsewhere. I bite my lip and stay because her partner, who delivers your order to your table, is so warm and customer-oriented. Did an online order through "yelp" and evidently there was some confusion... I got everything except the sushi I ordered, it was replaced with General Tso chicken. My appetizers, my soup and my salad were perfect... But the fried rice I couldn't eat because of the eggs (I'm allergic to them) and the chicken was not the three separate sushi I ordered. The chicken I handled because it was good I think I was overcharged for the chicken because I ordered three sushi's and that was certainly more than the cost of the chicken. Everything was very good and it came with more food than I could eat. I was surprised how fast it came. I had quite a few shrimp in my meal and the veggies were cooked perfectly. There I was in Binghamton, trapped in a room at the University for an entire day. The food options seemed to be: 1) Find something edible at the Dunkin Donuts / Sodexo 2) Order delivery on a Saturday to wherever the heck I was Realizing that option number one was a complete lost cause, I opened up the trusty Yelp app and checked out the delivery choices. There was this place, a halal joint, and Italian. If it were just me, I probably would have chosen differently, but the kids wanted Chinese. Specifically, they both wanted sesame chicken with fried rice. Now I know most of the reviews for this spot reflect the Japanese side of the menu. But the place has a Chinese name. So I took my guide from the Yelp app and it told me that the beef with broccoli was a popular dish. So I went for that. Did I mention that I had never used the Yelp app for delivery before? I'm also not typically someone who orders delivery. So my experiences with the form are fairly limited. That said, the delivery experience was fine. The food was fine. It arrived reasonably hot, despite a couple of really minor logistical hiccups. That really had to do with the fact that I didn't know where I was, and the driver didn't know where I was. But it all worked out. There's still just only so much love that I can give takeout Chinese food. Maybe the avocado salad or udon soup travel better. Certainly I've had worse. But I've also had much much better. All told, despite having a pleasant experience with the staff, and a surprisingly positive experience with the Yelp delivery functions of the app, I still would probably pursue other options if I were in a similar situation again. read more

I'm a year plus late for reviewing this restaurant, my apologies in advance. We first visited this restaurant in January of 2019 during one of the worst snow storms we've ever encountered. Long drive from NYC bringing our daughter starting her freshman year at Binghamton University. 10:00 at night, every restaurant in the area was closed. Except Bao Bao. This restaurant saved our lives. The staff so friendly and caring, and the food was super delicious. We all had the Hibachi Bao Bao with fried rice. While we took the food to go, it was still nice and hot when we reached our hotel room. Servings were plentiful and we enjoyed every bite of our meal. We're back in Binghamton dropping off our daughter to BU and visiting Bao Bao is a goal for us. I've been there a couple of times now in the past few weeks and I've enjoyed everything I've gotten. I am NOT a sushi expert and rarely ever get it but I've had so far the Eel Roll, California Roll, Rock'n Roll and Crunchy Shrimp Roll. I loved every single one. I've also had the General Tso and Seafood Hibachi and both were excellent. One of my favorite things is they actually use egg on their pork fried rice which no one seems to do anymore. This is a little family restaurant that makes really bomb ass Japanese AND Chinese food. The woman at the front who's the boss was really really nice and attentive. Her recomendation for food flavoring was definitely on point. Also, there was no lunch special when I went in, however the lady gave me the exception to order the three roll special. The rest we ordered were dinner entrees. So, after shopping for 4 hours, I have starving! So I ordered three entrees.... boy was I wrong! Literally, one entree was enough to fill up two people. And seeing as we couldn't finish the other two entrees, the grandma helped us pack our food Togo. She was so sweet.
