"No 1 chicken!" The owner (i presume) called out to me when I tarried to give the menu a look. Then he made the hard sell. "No 1 dumpling, no 1 chicken sandwich, no 1 everything!" A nod and a smile from me as I politely indicated I wanted to browse the other offerings but who am I kidding? He had me. Committed to the bit i made a half-assed round of the other offerings before coming back for "no 1 chicken." I was offered a dumpling sample which i accepted. It was good but hot enough to burn my mouth. Worth it! Anyway, i got the beijing wrap and it came with chilli powder and chilli oil (this shop owner is my kind of no 1 guy) and a rather generous wrap, filled with chicken at a reasonable price. The wrap was yummy. The fried chicken well executed and the service was memorable. This place is my number one, no 1 chicken place ;)

    Wing, very crispy and moist

This was on our list to try since we saw it on IG. Glad we did today. It is located in like an outdoor dining hall in a corporate area hence we see lots of workers as customer. Maybe because that is their main client ale hence food was done quickly. First off as we approaching the place, they hand out chicken sample as well as dumpling sample. The owner (I'm assuming) introduce us the menu as #1, very enthusiastic, give out friendly vibe. In term of food, everything was delicious. The chicken sandwich was actually filled with two piece of thigh. The wing was very crispy and moist. It is still hot and crispy after 10 mins in a hot humid lunch day. The popcorn chicken portion is big. However, it deserve 4 out of 5 because the pieces are inconsistent. They also give you chili oil in case you want to spill it on your chicken. We would definitely comeback.

In a situation... where I'm craving Chinese food, but my husband wants fried chicken. Then suddenly, you get a sample. And...it turns into a full meal. Started off with this fully stuffed grilled bao. The soul? This house-made chili oil. It pairs surprisingly well with their crispy fried chicken. And their chicken wings too! A multipurpose chili oil! This is a giant "Number One" Chicken Burger that the owner is very proud of. Somehow they nailed both Chinese food and American fried chicken. Oops... almost forgot their xiao long bao! Juicy and comforting! To end this unexpected feast? A bowl of lamb soup, which I personally think pairs surprisingly well with their fried chicken sandwiches! No wonder the owner--and even some customers I interviewed kept saying, "This is number one!!!" Ig: socalhkfoodies

The chicken sandwich was crispy hot and tender. It was also a decent portion for the price. You can order through the kiosk or the person. A sample was also given for you to try while you decide.

10/10 every time. We've been here at least 6 times and the chicken sandwich is always so fresh and tasty. It's a huge portion!

5/5 (based on the xiaolongbao only, didn't get to try anything else) Located in a semi-outdoors food hall, with a casual vibe, this place is counter service only and you order on the kiosk. Got the shrimp and pork and the spicy pork xiaolongbao, both were delicious. Spicy pork ones came stacked with soup, almost more than you'd expect. Shrimp and pork had more filling, less broth, but still juicy. Skin was right too, not thick enough to feel doughy, not so thin it tears before it hits your mouth. If you're in Irvine and craving dumplings, this one's worth the stop.

I consistently find the food here to be exceptionally fresh. I particularly enjoy the fried chicken special for $10. The meal includes white rice, coleslaw, seaweed, and pickles.

Must order the chicken sandwich when you come to Bao Chick. It is perfectly seasoned and the portion size is ridiculous. Stopped by during the lunch hour after seeing social media posts about this hidden gem. I order the double chicken sandwich and although in the pricey side ($20) it is a must try. The chicken is crispy and flaky on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. I've had plenty of chicken sandwiches in my day and this is top 3, no question. Ordering was quick and I was able to score some sample dumplings from the cashier while I waited. This is in a food court so the eating area is shared with other eateries. Get here early during lunch time if want to get a parking spot. It gets crowded.

Love this place because the xaio long bao is a big size. That server is so nice. The food is amazing. I love the fried chicken too. Great place for the kids because it is a big space. Love the ambiance!

The chicken dumplings were the star of the meal. Super juicy with a great meat-to-skin ratio. The filling was very well seasoned, and the dumpling skin was thin but sturdy enough that it didn't rip easily. The wasabi fried chicken was also really good. Made fresh to order (about 15-20 minutes), and it came out extremely juicy and well seasoned. The wasabi flavor didn't really come through, but the portions were huge! Definitely a great place for shareables!

Chicken Sandwich and Garlic Parmesan Fries

Best service I've ever had. Before I even ordered, the guy working there gave me a sample of the chicken. I ended up ordering the Chicken Sandwich and Garlic Parmesan Fries. He also made sure we were eating everything with the sauce and seasoning that came with it. You could tell he was genuinely passionate about the food and took pride in the store, and that's what made the experience stand out to me and makes me want to come back. The portions were huge. Everything was good, and the chicken was super crunchy, juicy, and flavorful. I'd definitely come back and bring my friends.

Got Bao Chick takeout and it is a very unique chicken sandwich. The flavor is very good and the crunch is insane. Its also huge, the picture doesn't do it justice. Fries were also super tasty. One critique would be that the chicken still had the fat on it, which made some bites chewy. Overall I'd return and eat again!

    Spicy popcorn chicken. Soooo good

I had an Uber Eats credit so wanted to try something new. I've always walked past this stall and always a happy lady and man, but i've never felt like chicken at the moment. Today i had the popcorn chicken. It's sooo good! I ordered spicy. Was seasoned perfectly. Came with another dry spice on the side. Sooo good. Chili oil tastes really good. And one typical chicken dip sauce kinda like a house chic-fi-a or somethint equivalent. Portion was great! I'll never get popcorn chicken at a boba shop again. I know this is fried but it doesnt taste greasy at all. The oil and the temp they mustve cooked it at was perfect cuz if not fried at correct temp it comes out dripping in oil. Im already planning my next visit with the boyfriend next week to try the chicken sandwiches. Support this place so it can stay open please :)

Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor with a fireplace outside for those chilly nights and where you can just relax and unwind. It's a very convenient restaurant for the surrounding businesses that would like to grab lunch without having to drive, have meetings or want a drink right after work. I was reviewing some of the dishes a couple of months before our arrival and thought this would be a nice early birthday dinner so I went ahead and reserved the 5pm dinner slot. But now let's get to the food! FOOD Short Ribs Croquettes (Appetizer) These were delightful. Not only cute and presentable but the flavors were delicious, a perfect combination of everything! Especially the aji amarillo aioli. Don't be shy when taking a scoop of the aioli, be sure to give the croquettes a nice drench of it! Highly recommend! Sea Bass Crudo (Appetizer) Presentation may seem a bit flat but I promise you it's packed with flavor! Prepared with citrus ponzu, serrano and garlic chili crunch, the Sea Bass Crudo is definitely refreshing with a bit of a kick! Looking for a shareable seafood type appetizer? Then you should absolutely try this out! Streak Frites This one felt like it would be a nice balanced healthy lunch. Marinated steak with bourbon peppercorn sauce sitting on a bed of fries featuring a nice portion of salad. Had the steak cooked medium and it was just perfect. I wouldn't mind ordering this dish again! Work nearby and want a balance of everything? Then this is the dish for you! Braised Short Rib Probably my favorite one. Meat easily melts in every bite. Paired with those whipped potatoes beneath? Forget it! It may seem like a small dish but it gets filling pretty quick. I think this is another dish I'll be ordering the next time we visit! Peach Butter Cake (Dessert) I seem to have found myself in trouble when taking that first initial bite because I couldn't stop myself indulging its rich flavor! I was already full at this point but this was too damn delicious. It's got the same concept of a pizookie and I'm a sucker for this type of dessert! Love pizookies? Peach jam? Then you should get this! Guarantee you'll have it all to yourself! OVERALL Actually glad we were able to try this place out as I just stumbled upon it a couple months before. Great establishment for dates, small hangouts, big parties or an after work dinner. Spacious interior with comfy seatings and a modern look to the place. Oh and don't forget to get your parking ticket validated! Special thanks to the team and for the GM Chris Teng for checking up on us from time to time to ensure we were enjoying our experience. The pairing of the rich mole sauce and sweet potato puree takes the dish to an entirely different level, complementing each other effortlessly. Baklava Cheesecake: A creative and delicious twist on a classic. The cream cheese filling is light rather than dense, and instead of a traditional graham cracker crust, it features a fantastic baklava crust. We went on Friday night and I was surprised that we were seated right away. The service was great and friendly and the restaurant itself felt cozy and high-end. We ordered the garlic parm fries, momonoki chicken wings, and dashi pesto. The garlic parm fries were crispy and fresh and were like the best version of a McDonald's or Potato Corner fry. I could smell the garlic as soon as the fries came to the table but unfortunately, the taste wasn't as strong as I was hoping. Still really delicious, but the high price point means I probably wouldn't order this again. The chicken wings came out next and they were HUGE. They were super juicy inside and the fish sauce glaze was strong and had a nice kick. I appreciated that despite being glazed, the wings were still pretty crispy. The slaw that came on the size was a little heavy on the mayo and had a bright peppery taste. Definitely a nice fresh component to an otherwise heavy meal. Finally, the dashi pesto came out and the udon was perfectly bouncy. The pesto had a subtle seafood flavor and was very herbaceous. Most pesto I'm used to pack more of a sharp, garlicky punch, but this one leaned heavily into the fresh basil which I enjoyed. The scallops on top were also cooked beautifully. I was a bit sad that we received each dish at very different times, the dash pasta coming out much much later than the fries but they did warn us after we placed our order that the kitchen would be very busy so I appreciated the heads up. All in all, I think this is such a fun and classy fusion restaurant and they executed very well.
