Lots of fries, pretty good taste and crispy edges. $19 all said and done. I'm not a fan of ordering on an iPad as the employee stands near you twiddling thumbs, but I guess it's the times we live. Otherwise, service was as expected, friendly. But, my order was ready much faster than anticipated. Bravo! First time to this "Food Court". Wish I knew more before arriving. For those familiar with Steelcraft of Garden Grove...it's the same concept where a bunch of eateries are gather in one section so there's Thai, a bar, chicken place, vegan burger and desert option. This chicken place has wings, combos and variety of chicken options. They have 4 different levels of spice: mild, hot, spicy and danger. However, they don't do the danger anymore since they had a lot of complaints that it's too spicy. Seriously? You ask for danger and you know what's gonna happen so what do you expect I told the cashier that I'm not like the rest and won't complain since I know what I'm asking for. The cashier ask if it's ok with the cook and she confirm after like a minutue or so. So 25 cent extra so ok? Wait time is over 10 minutes and the so-called Danger popcorn chicken is here Was it worth it? No! Certain parts of the chicken is not cover in the powder. The chicken is hot and fresh. But wanted to try the level that many people complain about. My foodie friend who can't handle spicy anymore even says it's bland. He order the same thing but chose spicy (level before danger) and his friend got the spicy reaction from that. What the heck! Then get rid of the "Danger" if you are going to lie about it and saying you can't even make it Overall, don't recommend this place because they lie about the danger spice level. You have never seen a sandwich this big until today. I actually went back to the register and double-checked my order because I was SHOCKED. I ordered the Insane Chicken Sandwich which came with two huge pieces of chicken that I could barely hold it with two hands. I had to sadly deconstruct the sandwich before I ate it because it was physically impossible to take a normal bite out of it. I also ordered the Nashville Chicken Sandwich which was essentially the same thing except with one piece of chicken. They both came sandwiched between brioche buns and a good amount of slaw. The crispiness of the batter is so addicting because it adds a great crunch and holds all the spices and flavors. It reminds me of Korean fried chicken which is my favorite kind. The Honey Mustard Wings were fried the same way so every bite was crispy on the outside and juicy on the outside. It doesn't come coated in the sauce so you have to pour some additional sauce on your own if you want more flavor. I ordered the Nashville Chicken Fries which came loaded with onions, cheese, and grilled chicken instead of fried. That seemed kinda odd as a fried chicken restaurant but I didn't mind because the fries provided the crispiness and saltiness in its place. Be wary of the wait time though. I was told about it beforehand so I was okay with it but if you're hungry then you'll end up hangry. This fried chicken shop serves extremely crispy chicken sandwiches that you have to try in Irvine! They are located in the Trade plaza with many other restaurants around it. Here's everything I tried: - Nashville Chicken sandwich w/ chicken thigh (hot): Apparently the hot spice level is only the second spiciest and I didn't think it was spicy at all. The chicken thigh was extremely juice and tender though and I really enjoyed the crispiness - Insane Chicken Sandwich w/ chicken breasts: this only comes in the Hell spicy level and I honestly thought it wasn't that spicy although I would say my spice tolerance is pretty high. My friend thought it was pretty spicy and her spice tolerance is really low. As expected, the chicken breasts weren't as juicy as the chicken thigh but what makes this sandwich insane is the two giant pieces of chicken they stuff into the sandwich. You definitely have to deconstruct it to get a good bite out of it. - White garlic wings: also very crispy and had decent flavor to it, although it doesn't have a strong taste of garlic - Garlic Parmesan fries: I definitely tasted the garlic in these fries, and they were a very solid pairing with the chicken sandwiches - Matcha Lover Milkshake: omg this was so good! This was the definition of serendipity. I was originally going to another restaurant nearby but the line was too long, so I decided to try this place out. The chicken sandwich turned out to be one of the best I've ever had. Served with a side or rice and a fork. Being a stew, you'd think to also get a spoon. You can get one if you ask for it. The descriptions on the menu can be improved so it's mostly a language barrier. Not many people eat here and its primary customer base would be stuck within its Chinese demographics. It's not bad flavors, I wish the menu was more accurate (maybe use ai for assistance here) and almost everything has some spice to it even if they say it's not spicy. For those reading in the future, remember the Nashville chicken sandwich craze of the early 2020's? Well I'm living in it right now. I set out to try this place's chicken before I realized it was in the Trade "food hall" which has the most hellish parking situation in the universe. I previously swore never to come to any store or eatery here ever again after multiple visits where I was unable to find a parking spot. This time was just as frustrating as past experiences. Upon arrival I ended up just circling the parking lot for 20 minutes, unable to find a spot, so I left. There are about half as many parking spots as there should be! I returned for a second try only due to others' great reviews. Here I was again, searching for parking when, as if by miracle, someone pulled out on my second spin through the lot. I went to the counter and ordered an original chicken sandwich, asking for breast meat rather than thigh. They cook to order but in a short amount of time the woman who took my order waved at me and pointed at a bag on the counter indicating it was mine. I grabbed it as she nodded and off I went. As the tables in the crowded seating area were full I reluctantly took it to-go. Once home I saw that there was a box of fries in the bag as well as the sandwich. I wondered if fries automatically come with the sandwich and looked at the receipt stapled to the bag. uh-oh. I was given someone else's order. Sorry Huey, they gave me your order. The fries were oily but seasoned well and there were plenty of them. Very crispy outside and soft & hot inside. Pretty darn good. The chicken sandwich was still very warm and as I lifted it out of the box I noticed the pool of oil at the bottom of the box and how greasy my fingers immediately became despite the layers of paper between my hands and the sandwich. The chicken was thigh meat rather than the breast I wanted but no matter, I was feeling sorry for Huey at the moment. The chicken had a wonderfully crispy exterior coating with a little heat while the meat was moist and tender. The slaw and pickle added nicely to the flavor while the bun held steady throughout each bite. I used several napkins to hold on to the sandwich which quickly became soaked in oil; the messiest chicken sandwich I've ever devoured. I felt like I needed a shower when I was done eating. Messy and dripping juice but I didn't care. - Popcorn Chicken: I highly recommend getting these. Lightly battered and full of flavor. Very addicting. - Chicken Wings (12-Piece): These aren't your typical drums and flats. These are full size wings. Delicious and flavorful.
