Pork bao buns and shrimp fresh rolls
    Zac G.

Tiny hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese and Thai places are often among the best of their kind, and so I had reason to be hopeful for BaoBao Kitchen despite its limited dimensions. While BaoBao is small (a few tables with limited space between them), the menu is not. Buns, rolls, curries, pho, rice dishes, banh mi, and more are yours for the taking. BaoBao even offers all-day breakfast, a rarity among Vietnamese eateries in the area. Dining solo, I went with pork bao buns, shrimp fresh rolls, and a hibiscus tea. Though BaoBao was busy, the crew here seems adept at getting food out quickly. I enjoyed most of what I had. The tea was sweet with a tangy note and especially refreshing on a warm day. They definitely didn't skimp on the bao bun toppings, and while their sheer sauciness led to some structural integrity challenges, that also made for a very tasty bite. Unlike other establishments, BaoBao serves three rolls to an order rather than two. However, they are short and smaller. As they were also chewier, this is probably not something I'd opt for again. Provided that you aren't coming in with a large group, BaoBao seems like a reliable option for modestly priced Vietnamese eats. I've yet to try the banh mi or the pho to see how they stack up, but I'll know to keep this place in mind the next time I'm in the area and want a quick bite.

Vegan Ribs Fresh Rolls. SO TASTY!!!!

Vegan reviewer here! I found my new favorite restaurant in Greensboro. I came in on Tuesday for the first time for a late lunch. The restaurant was small but there were some people dining in. The order process was easy and a lady took my order and I took a seat. They have ample vegan options with tofu and vegan ribs as a protein source on their bahn mi, spring rolls or the pho. I opted for the vegan spring rolls with vegan ribs, the tofu pho and a Thai tea with coconut milk. The order did take a while to prepare, just under 25 minutes but the food was delicious! I'm use to my tofu pho having more vegetables but the broth was so tasty! The portion size isn't as big as other places but it was just enough for me to finish in one sitting. The vegan ribs spring rolls were my favorite! I knew on the first bite I needed an order to go. Highly recommend and honestly the best spring rolls I've had. They come in orders of 3 and come with a peanut type sauce. I ordered the vegan bahn mi to go as well as more spring rolls because I knew I'd want to eat here later tonight. The staff was friendly and the food was fresh. I also witnessed the staff handle a very rude and impatient customer and they were very cordial. I'd highly recommend!

Ever since BaoBao Kitchen opened, I have tried to visit for lunch every month or so. Not just to give them my business but also because I have literal cravings for their food. In all of my visits, have tried many items off of their menu and have been satisfied every time. My new favorite item is the lunch special basil tofu over vermicelli. The flavor is outstanding and has a little kick. I'm not a vegetarian but love their tofu for some reason!! Everything from the lemongrass chicken, to the curry lemongrass fried rice, to steak pho and pad thai, everything is delicious. My only complaint is they usually don't put enough tofu or protein on the dish, compared to the rest of the ingredients. Like one time I think I had 6 pieces of tofu and the rest was noodles. The flavor was on point, but I wanted more tofu! All this said, this is definitely one of my favorite Asian restaurants in the GSO area!

I was craving vietnamese food. Since it was lunchtime their busy. This is the only place in the triad that serves banh mi's on Monday. The banh mi was good but not the traditional way. It's my first time here. I will be back to try more on the menu. In addition, I found out that they make banh coun a popular vietnamese appetizer, kind of like a asian rice crepe. It's hard to find a place that makes fresh vietnamese banh cuon. All the food we ordered was delicious. A great place for lunch. There are a few tables outside to sit. It was a bit of a challenge to find parking during lunch, considering shared parking with the other businesses around.

First time trying Vietnamese food. It was delicious. I highly recommend coming here if your in the area. I ordered the beef pho, pork spring rolls, and the pork bao bun. Beef pho was rich in flavors, spices I couldn't even place but felt like a drop of gold on my tounge. Spring rolls were crispy and flavorful. Bao bun was doughy (in a good way) and combined pork with great sauce and some other ingredients. Service was good. Overall pretty limited space inside but it made it feel nice and cozy. This is not a whole on the wall place like others said. If you want to try something new or just some delicious Vietnamese food, I exhort you to come here.

So delicious and generous portions. I got the king mushroom curry. It was so meaty. I have not seen this dish elsewhere. We also got the fresh rolls with shrimp and they were truly fresh. The restaurant started to get packed but the staff moved fast. The cashier was knowledgeable. Great place for a quick meal.

BaoBao has a few tables to dine in. This seems to be more of a take out spot. The menu is not overwhelming, but I am disappointed that I didn't spot their special drink menu until half way through my meal. There is a drink menu to the left of the register. The drinks in the fridge to the left were eye catching and I thought that was all they had to offer until I spotted a drink coming from the back to gentleman sitting in the restaurant. So while ordering, take a peek at the drink menu or ask about the special drinks. As you walk in, the delicious aroma will make your stomach growl. I decided to get the chicken mixed vegetable hot box. It came with nicely seasoned chicken, mixed vegetables in a beautiful sauce with noodles. You have the choice to get it with rice. Before my food arrived, I took a long gaze at the restaurant. There were some cookbooks on the walls and sauces on the tables with very cute flowers to finish up the decorations. The cohesive decorations make the place a very cozy spot to eat a good meal. I loved my meal. It was simple, filling and enriched with the right amount of season. You could really taste the freshness of each impressive ingredient. This was a stop worth my while. I will return and this time I will be well prepared to venture out into the menu.

Bao Bao Kitchen is hands down my go-to pho spot here in Greensboro! I've been coming here since I moved in the summer of 2020, and it never disappoints. I'm always on the hunt for a place that offers really good vegetarian or vegan pho, and Bao Bao absolutely nails it. Their pho is flavorful, comforting, and perfect every time. They also have delicious banh mi--my favorite is the tofu banh mi, which is always fresh and satisfying. Tonight, I wanted something lighter, so I went for their avocado bao bun, which is another favorite of mine. It's simple, tasty, and just the right snack. My daughter is a big fan of their coconut bubble tea, so it's a win for the whole family! I also love that they've recently added more seating, making it even easier to enjoy a meal here. If you're looking for incredible pho, banh mi, or a quick bao bun snack, this is the spot to go!

Lunch special. Tofu with mixed vegetables, brown rice, spring roll, ginger soup and a Diet Pepsi all for under $10.

I haven't been to Bao Bao for a long time. It's a quick Vietnamese food restaurant that has seating indoors and outdoors. I ordered one of my favorites meals; tofu with mixed vegetables to dine in. I saw mostly people taking out. It was lunchtime so it was quite busy for take out. It was just me and another table dining in. It all came back to me. The interior of Bao Bao is just too warm for me to dine in. Next time I'll take out some that I can dine in a cooler environment. I remember second about the food the last time I was there. However, this time I found my meal to be quite oily. I still enjoyed it, but not as much as I should have.

When recently order in takeout, upon eating my meal, I discovered two pieces of hair in my fresh spring roll. I had maybe three more bites left of my entire meal. I went back inside to inform the cashier about the issue very politely. she immediately said that she could not give me a refund since I ate the food, I responded with, but there's a hair in it. She can continue to state that she couldn't give me a refund because of the hair then finally said she can't give me a refund because the manager was not there and that's the only person who could conduct refunds. Ultimately, I left and probably will never be able to come back. Even though considering the fact, I ordered from them quite frequently. :(

Listen....if you need a quick bite to eat that's gonna be delicious every time take my advice and stop here!!! We stopped in here the other day to get a quick snack and we're so pleased. The food was hot and delicious, the service was great, and the vibe was very chill. I had a chicken curry lemongrass bahn mi sandwich and it was so good. Crispy bread outside soft and chewy inside and all the flavors were perfect. My husband had chicken Pad Thai and it was also very delicious. Orange peach tea and a Vietnamese iced coffee to drink. Quick bite or dinner you won't be disappointed. Give it a try.

Stopped here to pick up lunch after hearing about it from a coworker! I ordered the rice roll entree and vermicelli noodle bowl to go-both were delicious! Small place with big taste! Will definitely come back for more!!

The food is good, the service is friendly & the ambiance is nice for a small place. I only tried the chicken pad thai (it could have used more peanuts) and I plan on going back to try more. Also I like container they give for takeout a proper container.

While I would have been satisfied if it merely fulfilled a craving, Thai Square more than exceeded expectations. From an aesthetic standpoint, this is one of the nicer Thai restaurants in the area. It's bright and clean with a wall full of ornamental plates. Though it was busy at the time of my lunchtime visit, it seemed well-run. Staff were polite and attentive, and the kitchen had no trouble keeping up with demand. The som tam with shrimp was among the best versions of this dish that I've had. From the attractive plating to the freshness to the flavors (good amount of lime, not too heavy on the fish sauce), it was satisfying across the board. It wasn't at all spicy, which would ordinarily be a red flag (white people Thai food, five-yard penalty), but in fairness, it wasn't requested as such. Provided that Thai Square can bring the heat if you ask for it, the execution here is top-notch. I don't know if the rest of Thai Square's menu compares favorably to the dish that I had, but I hope to eventually find out. For Thai fans in Greensboro, this place is definitely worth a visit.

It is tucked in a shopping center with a Kohl's and Sprouts.  Every time my partner and I go we feel like we find something new to admire in the décor on this visit we liked the assortment of plates on the wall. On my most recent visit, my partner and I stopped by for a daytime date and started by splitting the fresh shrimp rolls. They were light, fresh, and tasty, a perfect appetizer on a hot summer day.  I ordered the papaya salad, which was refreshing with a nice kick. It was loaded with shrimp, tomatoes, and plenty of peanuts, which added the perfect crunch. I appreciate that they don't shy away from using peanuts in their dishes where they belong, it really enhances the flavor. My partner tried a chicken dish that was plentiful and had enough for leftovers.  Service can be hit or miss getting attention to the wait staff, but the food is consistently delicious. If you can make it for lunch, I highly recommend the lunch specials. Other visits I get the Thai tea and recommend if you haven't tried it before. Between the consistently good food, friendly service, and clean atmosphere, Thai Square is a place I'll keep coming back to.
