My favorite hour is HAPPY HOUR! I decided to meet up with a fellow friend who is also an elite YELPER. Oh how I wanted to love Salute. It fell short for me and her. There were definitely some highs and lows. Let me give you the good, bad and ugly. Let me start with the GOOD! Happy Hour drink prices are great. The cocktails are half off. The welcome bread basket is scrumptious. I loved the Olive Oil, Parmesan Cheese and Balsamic mix for the bread. Ambiance 4 STARS It's a lovely restaurant space. I love the bar area. The dining room is simple, but chic and modern. Service 5 STARS Our waiter Ernest was AMAZING! He was very polite, polished and pleasant. He truly made the experience better with his outstanding customer service. Cocktails 4 STARS The lemon drop was delicious. I loved the presentation. The glass was sexy and the sugar rim with a piece of lemon was perfect. So the bad started with the food. The crab cakes were hard and dry. I will say that it was full of crab. We informed our waiter. He was very helpful with trying to resolve our dissatisfaction. The crab cakes reminded me of a biscuit. So these were about 2 STARS. Up next tried a small Caesar salad. Price and size were decent. The salad dressing wasn't that great. It was ok about 3 STARS. After the crab cakes and salad we really had enough disappointment. I wanted to give them one more chance. I decided I had to taste a pasta dish. I chose the Manicotti. Presentation was ok and the edible flower was cute. It was a NO for us. The pasta was lacking in flavor and Italian seasoning. I tasted salt though. Unfortunately I had to send it back. So overall it was an ok experience. There were good and bad moments. Nothing was ugly. Our waiter could tell we were not happy and offered to help make it right. I truly appreciated the owner/manager coming out to speak with us. He listened to our feedback and apologized for the situation. This made up for the lack of great food. He also offered us a free dessert. We declined, but it was a nice touch. To top it off they did offer to fix me another dish. However, we were ready to call it a night.

    Spicy rigatoni. Very good.

Was in the area for the night and tried the highest rated Italian restaurant in Frisco TX. Tucked in the corner of a shopping center, it stood out. Once inside it was cozy, Italian and had a nice bar. Our server Sebastian (Bas) was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu. He was attentive but not overbearing. The food was solid. No complaints.

If you haven't tried Salute, it's a must try!! The staff is so friendly and such a fun vibe. It's a great neighborhood spot to just hang out. The food is amazing, too! They have excellent crab cakes and I love the Caesar salad!

Inspired by a fellow Yelp Elite, I was excited to check out Salute and made reservations for a Saturday night. The service here is top-notch. The whole front of house team works well together, setting up tables, clearing them in a flash, seating diners and serving food. They are on it, even when it's busy. Definitely 5 star service. As for the food, there were some big hits and a couple of meh moments. We started with cocktails, an old-fashioned and a raspberry martini, and both were awesome. For apps, we split a Caesar salad and the buffalo calamari and both were easily our favorites. The calamari was crispy and cooked perfectly, and the buffalo sauce was great. For entrées, my date went with the chicken Parmesan and I had the chicken Sorentino. Here's when things dipped a little, the chicken on both dishes, needed seasoning, like where's the salt and pepper? The cheese and pasta sauce were great, but the chicken was so bland. This place is on the pricey side but overall it's a great place for date night. It's a beautiful restaurant with above average food and seriously amazing service.

Our party of 12 had a reservation to celebrate a birthday, but they were so busy on a weekend that it still took a long time for us to get seated. The interior of this place is quite nice with moody lighting. Perfect vibe for a date night or celebration. Loved the bread they brought out as an appetizer to dip in olive oil & parmesan. I ordered the chicken picatta, it was decent, but nothing that stood out. Probably should have stuck to a pasta dish as that seems to be their specialty. Our server was good and attentive. Only other complaint I have is that they charged us a $8 dish splitting fee when they actually didn't split any dishes. They asked if we needed a dish split and we said no. One of our friends didn't order a dish, but I guess that's why they charged us anyway? But there wasn't any transparency about it regardless.

We had a reservation for 6:30- upon arrival I stood by the door patiently waiting until I could check in. It was busy busy busy. There isn't much space to wait but I tried to stay out of the way. I could tell the older woman with white hair was very overwhelmed so I stood back and waited until she addressed me- she started asking for peoples names and I slowly stepped in closer and said "hello, I made a reservation for 6:30" she then loudly proclaimed "everyone has a reservation" I was so embarrassed and felt like a Karen- but I shrunk back slowly- she seated a rude family that cut in front of us- and then seated another family that came in after us- we finally spoke to a very kind tall young man who seemed like a manager and he took care of us and apologized 100 times and offered us a dessert and checked on us so many times. The older woman did come by a few times, no apology but acted as if nothing happened- The young man was truly epic- I believe his name was Dave, Tall, dark hair, well dressed- super star. Our server was also five stars. Food was 10 stars! So good. Alfredo, calamari, eggplant Parmesan, bread with oil and herbs- so good! Luckily our experience was much better than it started- phew- I would definitely return. So delicious.

Another outstanding visit but this time at the Frisco location. We got caesar salad, Salmon Dijon, Penne a la Vodka with Chicken, & Chicken Marsala. Our server, Andy, Top-Notch, took really good care of us.

Unfortunately salute is not what it used to be. The quality has decreased significantly and is no longer worth the price.

The food was amazingly good--one of the best italian places I've had in a while. Our service was subpar. We were a group of 5 people all around the age of 23-24, and it seemed like our server just assumed that made all his shortcomings okay because he tried to act kind of bro-like with us. There were multiple periods of time where we were left alone for anywhere from 10 minutes to 40. It took us a LONG time to get our food even though we were one of maybe 4 parties in the restaurant. One friend got told they were out of something, ordered something else, and the waiter went, "that's a joke, right?" and told him they were out of that too. His entree came out almost a full 30-40 minutes after the rest of ours so he just packed it up to-go. Only a halfhearted apology that everything was taking so long and no type of compensation. The food was good enough that I would go back to try again since partner and I live in the area. But i really hope we don't get this guy as our server again.

I had the chance to finally try Baonecci this past week and it was a phenomenal experience!…read more Our waiter, Rogelio, taught us all about the restaurant's history and about the menu. Baonecci used to be in San Francisco and recently came to Frisco, TX in the last 3 years. Their entire menu is ordered in fresh from Europe, pastas and pizzas are handmade in house, and everything lacks processed ingredients. To begin, we ordered white wine and I believe the Judas Spritz, which contained red wine, orange, and more. Both were excellent and paired perfectly with our appetizers and meals. For our appetizers, we ordered the Bruschetta and the Tagliere Toscano, or charcuterie board. The bruschetta was some of the best we have ever had and was made with excellently toasted bread. The Tagliere Toscano contained a variety of tasty meats, cheese, olives, as well as focaccia bread. It was a perfect board and not too heavy before our main meal. We also split the Baonecci Salad, which contained romaine lettuce, arugula, goat cheese and pears. It was absolutely delicious and perfect for the two of us. For our entrees, we ordered the Ravioloni Riccotta e Spinaci and an item from the secret menu, veal ravioli with white sauce. We also spilt a Contadina pizza. We were absolutely blown away by each of these dishes, the Ravioloni Riccotta e Spinaci was my particular favorite. The ravioli ricotta and spinach was served with the best gorgonzola cream sauce and topped with walnuts, it was honestly one of my favorite dishes I have had this year. The secret menu item was classic Italian and another hit. We loved the Contadina pizza as well. It was made very thin and crispy, echoing true Italian style. It definitely could be an appetizer because it was very light. It was made with gorgonzola, mozzarella, parmesan and topped with curly pears, it was delicious! Lastly, for dessert, Rogelio recommended we try the Coppa Amarena over the Tiramisu, so we did. It was a great choice! The Coppa Amarena is vanilla gelato topped with Amarena cherries. It is a perfect, fruity and light dessert to end the night with. However, I would love to come back for the Tiramisu! Overall, it was an absolutely amazing experience. The food is authentic, Italian and clearly made fresh and in-house. Our waiter, Rogelio, also made it such a fun night and gave us amazing recommendations that made the entire experience great. I cannot wait to come back and try more from the menu and have some of these dishes again. Don't let it deter you that it is located in a strip mall, it is truly a hidden, Italian gem. I look forward to returning soon! Thank you so much for a great experience and night!!

The hostess added us to the list and said they would send a text once our table was ready. She even read our phone number back to us. We waited outside and 30 minutes went by before we went back inside to see how much longer. Yea, they somehow didn't actually add us to the list. There were plenty of tables available by then and they gave us a table immediately. We placed our order and after receiving everything except the penne alla vodka and waiting almost 20 minutes after we'd gotten everything, I asked where our pasta was. Our waiter said it should've come out long ago and he would check. Somewhere along the line, it was forgotten. Either it was never put in or the kitchen staff lost it. It ended up being on a completely separate bill because they had to put it in again. By this point, we were over this dinner experience. An extra hour had been added on due to no fault of our own. So why am I giving it 4 stars? Because the manager made it right. Patrick, the manager, came over to our table to talk to us. We politely explained how this evening was a failure across multiple points and he was very apologetic and comped our entire $50 meal. I wasn't expecting that as I had already given our waiter my credit card and he already ran it. We weren't looking for a free meal, we just wanted to give him honest feedback about how things went wrong. Because he took the time to chat with us, I wouldn't hesitate to return. This experience had never happened before there so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was just a rough night for folks. As for the food, the pepperoni pizza and chicken soup were delicious. The short rib comes pretty much comes in soup, but it was fall of the bone tender. The penne alla vodka that we waited so long for missed the mark. It was incredibly sour and mushy. We've gotten the bolognese and pappardelle pastas before and those were both excellent.

The restaurant is decorated for the holidays and is beautiful. The staff greeted us and seated us promptly. We were there at lunchtime and were shocked at how there were only two other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. Hearing about their wood-fire oven, I wanted a pizza, which I was told was around 10-12". The pepperoni was recommended, it was stated that the pepperoni is direct from Italy and not the kind you find in regular grocery stores. Sold! My SO ordered a turkey club with fries. The pizza was cooked perfectly, especially on the bottom. Was very greasy and had to ask for napkins to dot it because grease was running everywhere, but it was quite tasty. My SO's turkey club was beautiful looking and while he said it tasted amazing - even the bacon was cooked perfectly - it was drowning in mustard. It was literally dripping off the back of his sandwich and was going everywhere. His white cloth napkin was covered with mustard by the end of it. Fries were cooked very well. Nice and crispy. Thing is - I don't think a personal 10" pizza and a sandwich should cost over $60. The food was good, but it wasn't THAT amazing. I'm not against paying for excellent food but it has to be so delicious where I'm thinking "when I can go back again?" That wasn't the case here.
