I had a stomach turning experience at this restaurant: I urge you to stay away! Here's the story. After we were done eating My 4 year-old son decided he needed to go to the bathroom. I told him to go on and he proceeded to head towards the men's restroom. I followed behind him. Incidentally, there was a guy in the men's restroom, who forgot to lock the door, using the urinal. I went to excuse ourselves and attempted to close the door but he quickly zipped up his pants and headed out. I didn't think anything of it until I saw him head towards the kitchen! Sure enough it was the cook! This man had his hands on his private to use the bathroom, didn't wash his hands, and proceeded to the back to cook! As someone who works in the healthcare industry and has seen it all; this is utterly disgusting! I will definitely not be going back again! Who knows what else happens behind close doors! read more

Oh I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. They were one of a few restaurants open on Christmas Day, the service was terrific and the price was excellent. Unfortunately, the Mongolian Beef was soooo bland, even though it looked delicious and the Cashew Chicken was not only lacking flavor, but it was also a lot more battered than others we've ordered from other restaurants. Portions were fantastic - we ordered the Lunch Special and couldn't believe how much food came but it was so bland that we didn't bother keeping the leftovers. We also ordered the pan fried gyoza which were huge but also lacked any real flavor. The wonton soup was tasty though. Don't think we'll be ordering from here again. read more

Customer service was horrifying. Our family sat back in a corner due to having small kids and not wanting to disturb others. There was a sticky spot on the table so we asked to have it cleaned. The waitress snarled and tossed a fry napkin on top of a sticky mess. I asked her if she expected me to clean it. She again snarled and went to retrieve another dry cloth. She then smears the sticky mess across the table and looks to me for approval. I asked if they have a wet towel, she said no. So I reply "you all don't have a wet towel to clean the tables in your restaurant?". She storms off and gets a wet towel then half ass cleans the table. She huffs at me "is that good enough?" Our family wasn't rude at all. I wasn't asking too much by requesting a clean table. The couple that can in just prior to us left after hearing the ordeal. Nice neighborhood dine in or take out. Dining room was nice, clean and modern, larger than it appears from the storefront. Ordered take out lunch special Chinatown Stir Fry, requested only chicken, Fried Rice and Wonton Soup. Stir Fry was nice, lots of veggies: broccoli, carrot, onion, mushroom, water chestnut, baby corn, snow pea in brown sauce. Chicken was lightly dusted in I think cornstarch. Best part was veggies, the mix and that they were not over cooked, the broccoli was crisp and bright green. In addition the sauce had a great flavor. Chicken was the flat white meat slice style, not so tender. Fried rice was nice a well as the wonton soup. Note at least for this dish, it was served over the rice not sure if that is the way they do all of their dishes. They are very accommodating to special requests however so perhaps ask if they will separate. Portion size was very generous for lunch however you get either the spring roll or soup but not both for the special price. Tip, ask for some chili oil on the side. read more

I'm sick in bed and of course there is no better cure than Chinese food so my husband picked up some Hot and Sour Soup for me with a side of fried wontons. He said the ambiance is very nice inside and there were alot of people eating. My soup and wontons were piping hot upon delivery which is what I was hoping for but my Hot and Sour Soup was bland and didn't have much in it. Maybe 2 pieces of tofu and a mushroom. It was also incredibly SMALL so the reviews are true. IT'S OVER PRICED for VERY SMALL PORTIONS. The wontons had NO filling and were chewy instead of crunchy. It was almost as if they used eggroll wrap but with such little filling it couldn't puff. They were soaked in grease. They also do not match the picture on the menu. I would pass on this place next time but it is really close to my house. The search for nearby Chinese take out continues. read more

I could eat here every day. Every Chinese restaurant is different, but the food at Bao's reminds me so much of one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Clear Lake-Webster-NASA area that no longer exists, Peking Duck House. I'm Chinese-American, so I'm pretty picky about Chinese restaurants. The food here is good. I always order the kung pao chicken, mushu pork, and hot sour soup. Occasionally we'll get the Mongolian beef. It's all good. Service here is also top notch. Takeout is usually ready in 5-10 minutes. The servers are friendly and attentive. They might be a smidge more attentive if you speak Mandarin. I would recommend here for lunch. It's just more bang for your buck to eat at any Chinese restaurant during lunch time. As for Bao's portions, I don't have a problem with the size of their portions. For me, it's perfect. I live on the east side of League City, but I drive across town to get to Bao's because the other places, Jade Garden, Orient Cafe, Szechuan Garden, 888, etc. pale in comparison. Totally worth the drive. I only wish they had a separate, Chinese menu with more authentically Chinese dishes. That would make this place even better. read more

Our go-to Chinese takeout place. Best part - they have free delivery in the League City/Friendswood area! My go-tos are the shrimp w/ vegetables & the triple delight. This place stands out because their dishes actually taste fresh and doesn't give the post-meal MSG snooze while retaining great taste. The takeout always comes in well-sealed plastic containers alongside a carton of white rice, and steaming hot. I sometimes reuse the containers as Tupperware b/c it's actually good quality. I finally decided to try this place out after driving by it so often. I ordered the sweet and sour pork and the wonton soup. I was a fan of the soup, I thought that it was a lot less oily than the soup you usually get at 888. The sweet and sour pork portions were huge!!! I got so much for such a good price. I do plan to come back and try other things on their menu. The only thing was that I had ordered my food and was late in picking it up (which I understand is my fault). When I got there the employee was mega passive aggressive saying how they had to remake it for me because the food went soggy. I did like this because it shows that they are an honest business. I just could have used less passive aggressiveness. Tbh they didn't need to remake it for me as I would have eaten it anyways lol. STAY AWAY!!! Absolutely the most unprofessional and worst business I've ever encountered; and my career is in sells. I've used this place a few times and it wasn't bad, however, I placed an order for delivery this evening that was supposed to take 20 minutes. And hour later, I get a phone call from the lost driver. No big deal, it happens, however 30 minutes went by with no word. Come to find out they went back to the restaurant with NO WORD. It's now 2 hours later and when I called the restaurant to find out what the hell was going on, I was met with a smart ass person over the phone telling me to "just come get your food" and the driver in the background being a smart ass and laughing, thinking I couldn't hear them. After informing them I could in fact hear them all and giving them a piece of my mind, I was refused a refund and was hung up on. Upon calling back, I demanded to speak to a manger. I didn't get a picture of the food because we completely devoured it within minutes. This is honestly some of the BEST Chinese food I have eaten in a while! The chicken fried rice is by far the best that I have ever had. The spring rolls are perfectly crunchy and they are the perfect size. They are the large spring rolls not the little tiny ones. Sweet & sour chicken was great. Orange chicken was great. The general's chicken was our favorite! We will definitely eat here A LOT and we are so glad it is so close to home!!! This used to be one of my favorite restaurant in town, much better than 888 and the others. However, since changed the chef and manager around October, it's not the same. Dishes with sauce are VERY BLAND. Fried rice tasted weird and lack of favor. Food are served after a decade of waiting. Services is okay. Cameron is very attentive and helpful. But after seeing kitchen staffs served without any mask or gloves on, nor do they washing theShrimp Fried Riceir hand after using bathroom, I don't think I should come here anymore. We just finished eating our order delivered by this fairly new place, our first time to try it. First, easy ordering, secondly, super fast delivery at dinner time even! Now on to the good part, all white meat chicken! Yep, we ordered sweet and sour chicken and cashew chicken both with fried rice, which they charge $1 more and so worth it! I also ordered a cup of the hot and sour soup and like all of our food, it was delicious! We forgot to ask for sauces, but they had everything in the bag and even plastic ware. We are so excited to have a good place near us, we will now start eating Chinese again. I know some people put bad reviews, but we just didn't have a bad experience at all and the food was very delicious and enough for a second meal! They put the food in styrofoam containers while it is super hot which melts the styrofoam. The quality in their ingredients are fresh. You can really tell they try to serve good and fresh food. My boyfriend and I decided to order food on their website. We ordered vegetable lo mein, 2 orders of fried wontons, general's chicken with fried rice, and a bowl of wonton soup. The order was confirmed at 6:40pm and it said it would get there at 7:40pm. At 8:00pm my boyfriend and mom called to ask where our food was. They rushed them off the phone and said they were on the way. 30 minutes later my boyfriend called again and they said the same thing but he told them they said that 30 minutes ago so they got our order name and number and made us repeat our address and what was in our order multiple times. they told us to stay on hold so we did and then they hung up. they called back and said it was on the way another 30 minutes later. Our food finally got to our house at 9:15pm and they ordered it to the wrong house. When we opened our food they got the order wrong. They gave us egg rolls instead of soup, whitey rice instead of fried, one order of fried wontons, and combination fried rice instead of vegetable lo mein. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! read more
