This was a great find for after work Happy Hour and it's conveniently located right on the Metro North. They offer discounts on most of their beers and wines and have some good deals like Taco Tuesday - 3 tacos for $14. We also enjoyed oysters and CHEESE curds of all things. Decided to treat myself and my broke bestie (my teen daughter) lol I'm glad she doesn't use Yelp too much anyway wanted to sit outside and eat. Now there isn't any view and it's first come first serve so if you're looking for vibes sit inside lol but no complaints from me because we got a seat quick and our server was super nice. Had 2 cocktails and my girl had 2 mocktails, the apps were delish and fresh, we order a dozen raw oyster (6 east & 6 west) both were great, also had the shrimp ceviche on a tostada, we scooped everything off and crunched up the tostada to use a scoops. In still drooling. I ordered the fettuccini and clams for my entree she had a classic burger which came with her fave shoe string fries cooked to perfection. We really enjoyed our Sunday dinner out. This place is solid. Haven't had a bad meal anytime we have gone. Would love to hit up the bar one night. They even make decent margaritas (and that's saying a lot coming from me!) it can get loud so it's hard to catch up with the ladies on all the hot gosp. I've passed Pubstreet many times when in Pleasantville; I'm a frequent flyer to the area as I attend Jacob Burns Film Center regularly. Despite this, I have never been here for a meal. I was planning to catch a movie with my brother and since we were both looking for some food beforehand, he suggested we go here - so off we went. Pubstreet is located in the main commercial hub of Pleasantville - parking can be a challenge during peak times, but you have many options including the train station lot and several municipals. We were there on a Saturday night around 6pm - we waited about 15 minutes for a table but all things considered it wasn't bad at all. The dining room isn't large, but there were a good amount of tables as well as a small bar area. Color scheme was mostly greys - nothing too noteworthy IMO, but simple in a good way. We started with drinks - I got their pear cocktail which was very tasty. The food menu was mostly American, with a selection of starters, pastas, sandwiches, mains, and sides. I decided to start with the French Onion soup; I enjoyed this - the broth was flavorful without being overly salty, and there was just the right amount of cheese and bread. For my main I got the fish sandwich. Again, this was very good - the fish was battered well and topped with a tasty slaw. It was kinda messy and fell apart as I was eating which was a little bit of a turnoff, but overall the flavors worked well; bonus points for using a sesame seed bun. Service was good, the restaurant was well-staffed and there was a good flow to everything. Overall, I had a good experience at Pubstreet - the food was quality and this is definitely a solid choice when looking for places to eat in Pleasantville; I would have no qualms returning for another meal. read more

Been going to this restaurant since they opened. We live very close by and go here probably once a month. Always enjoyed it, however something changed in the last year or so. The food is generally good, but the service is lacking. We usually go for lunch, at a less busy time, and are seated right away. Most visits in the last year, it has been at least a 10 minute wait before a server comes to the table to greet and take a drink order. Drinks (and food) usually come out quickly, however we rarely see a server again and usually have to flag someone down if we want more drinks or the check. Went for lunch today and probably won't be back to dine in for a while. We waited nearly 20 minutes for a server to come greet us and take a drink order. No "sorry about that wait" or anything. We ordered our food at the same time as drinks. We sat there for an hour after receiving our food and not once did the server come to see how things were, if we needed anything, if we wanted more drinks (we did!). It was very disappointing. This was our usual lunch spot, and we've experienced slow service here many times, but today's visit was a real turn off. read more

Traveling through Pleasantville we stopped for lunch at The Pubstreet Dinner. Wheeler Ave feels like a local hotspot for restaurants with limited opportunities for parking. The Wings were large, crispy and had great flavor. I recommend using the fresh lime to enhance the flavor. I had the Aioli sauce on my Fried Checken Sandwich with thin sliced fries, it was a good sandwich. My wife ordered the Wild Fish Taco. Without an acid from tomatoes or a little heat. They were unseasoned and bland. She added a dash of hot sauce and that helped greatly. They have specialty drinks, wine and enough beer options for people like myself who like to explore local brewers. Pubstreet is advertised as bar food and if your exceptations are for good bar food. Friday night around 6:30pm, very crowded, very loud. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. The raw oysters were delicious. Nice selection of beers on tap. I ordered the fish tacos (grilled) and they were tasty (a hint of vinegar). My date had the fish sandwich but felt that it wasn't worth ordering again (very bland). I will say that the fries were skinny, crispy and delish. There was an issue with one of the entrees and the manager quickly acknowledged it and did right by us. This is a very happenin' place. My oysters were cold, briny and meaty - perfectly shucked; roast salmon with creamy pan sauce, salmon roe for pop, perfect potatoes and spinach hit every note. Went for dinner with a party of 5. I ordered the fish sandwich. When all the food came, I was brought Fish & Chips dinner. I told the waiter what I ordered, he took the wrong dinner back. It seemed like nothing was done to expedite my order. While the rest of my party ate their food, I sat there waiting. The waiter NEVER made eye contact as he walked by several times. We had Salmon Sushi fritters, pork belly sliders, and wings for appetizers and Thai Shrimp Fried rice as the main. The kids had chicken fingers and Mac & Cheese. The food was good. Visit # 4 at Pubstreet was a nice bounce back performance for this place. Appetizers were very good- Shiseido peppers, calamari, guacamole and chips, etc were all excellent. I learned from my previous visit to avoid the underwhelming fish tacos and to go with a classic burger. It was very good in size, Flavor and it was cooked as requested. Service was brisk (almost too fast) and even somewhat personal. The host was warm and offered a smile. Beers and drinks were all fine. So 3 visits with three 4 stars and 1 three star experience. Someone at our 7 person table didn't ask or heed advice and yes the fish tacos once again were a disappointment. Try Pubstreet and enjoy but avoid fish tacos. read more

I had a delicious lunch here. I stopped in for the second time. I decided to go with the pork belly bahn mi and my friend got the fish and chips. Well, we weren't sorry! The bánh mì was exceptional, pork belly cooked perfectly, with wonderful pickled vegetables on a crunchy baguette. Yum! The fish and chips were light airy and delicious. The fish was extremely fresh and the coating was very light, and not overpowering. We both were in heaven! The fries were extremely crispy and perfectly cooked. My friend and I came here for brunch where they had indoor and outdoor tables. Even with so many tables, the service was incredible! The first thing the server asked was if we had any allergies. Both of us have allergies and my friend has a serious dairy allergy. The manager came over to our table twice to check if my friend's food would be safe. The food was also delicious! I am always nervous about getting a burger because it is easy to disappoint. The pubstreet burger did not disappoint! I ordered the burger medium and it was perfectly cooked! I only just discovered pubstreet this month and I've been twice already! I can't stop thinking about the Pubstreet rice bowl. Perfectly tender and super crispy chicken over rice with a spicy aoli. (I am a baby with spice and was still able to enjoy this!), all served in a gorgeous bowl. I've also gotten the chicken sandwich which was fresh and satisfying. Their fries are thin and crispy deliciousness. My only minor constructive criticism would be- both times I went a busser came by to start clearing plates when not everyone was finished. I met a friend here for dinner on a busy Thursday evening and we were lucky to score a table without a wait. Pubstreet has a nice trendy vibe with a bar area and large screen televisions. I had never been to downtown Pleasantville and I love the charm and coziness of it. Lots of nice shops and restaurants of all different ethnic origins. We began our meal with the Brussel sprouts. Excellent. Generous portion and very tasty. The bacon bits were a nice touch. I had the classic burger with American cheese which came with French fries. My friend ordered the fish and chips. My burger was outstanding. Big, fat, juicy, and cooked fresh to perfection. I could barely get my mouth around it and the bun held up throughout. The French fries were seasoned perfectly with salt and I devoured all of them. My friend loved her fish and chips. She ate everything and she devoured her perfectly seasoned fries as well. The prices were very reasonable and the service was very good and friendly. There is ample parking on the street but public parking lots in the area. I rarely ever review a restaurant but I think it was warranted given my most recent experience. I placed an order via Uber eats and was pleasantly awaiting my meal. But received a rather obvious thrown in a bag order where one item was completely vetoed cause of an accidental selection of dairy allergy. Had I known that trying to avoid aioli sauce would warrant a completely different meal.... I would've never tried to make any substitutions. I was given practically nothing in a bag other then my thrown together food items. After calling to attempt to speak with an employee, it was evident that there was nothing that they were going to do and that it was solely my fault. The manager shared that they did nothing wrong and told me to just order another one and pick it up. I would think that at least some form of communication pertaining to completely switching someones meal order would've been had. Or even slightest attempt to rectify the situation or find a solution, would've been nice regarding the entire new meal I received or that there was going to be something else sent instead. read more

The food was pretty good and the drinks were good too, as was the service. The problem was that the manager made constant passes, I'd say once every 3 to 5 minutes to see where everyone was at with their meals. It was so awkward and uncomfortable. I don't mean once in a while, I mean constantly. It would be comical if it wasn't so annoying. At one of the tables next to us a father sat with his 2 daughters and they were talking after they finished their meal. I felt so bad for them because this manager would walk by every couple of minutes to try to get them to leave. When we were done with our meal, and I asked for the check, he, the manager was standing behind our waiter with the check made out already. The place isn't that big, from one spot, any spot, you can definitely see every table in the room. The word that comes to mind is tacky. Happy hour Oysters! I am glad a found this gem to have a variety of happy hour Oysters to try. I love that they rotate the happy hour even so each day you aren't trying the same happy hour Oysters and you can build your preferences or enjoy the classics. The oysters tasted fresh and had a few East coast oysters for happy hour. I really enjoyed the beau soleil. They offer Tabasco, lemon wedges, cocktail sauce, horseradish, and aoli to company your oysters. I also enjoyed the the little neck clams. The veggie spring rolls were also a great crunchy bite to have while the oysters are being shucked. The restaurant is very covid conscious by having protective barriers between seats. They also do temperature checks and require masks to be worn upon entry and exit. They have at the bar seating to watch TV and enjoy seeing their also selection.
