Our server by the way, nicest person ever, good sense of humor, made the visit that much more spectacular. It was a pleasure interacting with her during our visit. Hope to see her again. We sat outside in front of the fire and they had outdoor heaters by the bar. I like that it was late October yet they still had an outdoor seating option open for those who wanted it. Lunch menu is brief with something for everybody. Butternut Ravioli Appetizer was divine. At $10 for just 3, I initially felt it was too steep, but figured they were stuffed very nicely with Butternut, topped with Caramelized Onions, Sage thrown in with Grape Tomatoes in a freaking heavenly Cream Sauce. Winner! My Moroccan Lentil Spiced Burger was slamming. Asked our guy about any dijon/mustard/or mustard seed in the Salad and said he'll check in the kitchen. Sure enough, kitchen substituted the mustard for straight up Balsamic and O. This is where they also bumped up their rating- in my opinion! Hubby said his 'Shaved Prime Rib' Sandwich had a nice seasoning to it plus toppings like the Provolone, Mushrooms and Chimichurri Aioli added the flavor he wanted. Perfect timing as we checked in then grabbed a high table by the bar area. Bartenders offered pleasant service, took our orders, and brought the food to us. The plating, taste, and quality of our meals were more than we expected. Not bad at all. Roast Turkey Wrap - Pepper Jack Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado, Chipotle Aioli, Fries Pan Seared Salmon - Sautéed Spinach & Kale, Lemon Scented Baby Potatoes, Citrus Vinaigrette Since this hotel also hosts many events from marriage receptions to corporate functions they have a full kitchen, and cooks on staff who really put out some good product. Bistro Z also uses locally sourced ingredients. During summer months there is also an outside deck to dine al fresco. Overall, a nice bar and bistro that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Actually- not much. We had an incredible time. Let's break it down: The F&B is inventive and implemented at a very high level. Flavors were jumping off of the plate as we enjoyed very creative starters such as the squash hummus plate, tuna credo and figs and whipped ricotta. Entrees included burgers, chicken sandwiches, crispy calimari salad, and brown butter gnocchi, and a lovely scallop special. Don't miss the wonderful Parker house rolls with high quality seasoned butter. (Lohud does a great story on the venue). The entertainment for the evening featured the M80's an 80's cover band that punches above their weight. The sound quality in this venue was exceptional. As this is not enough let's add a small retail space near the entrance. Mrs. O found something there.... A great parking area exists right in front/back? of the restaurant- which is really an important aspect to this project with so many moving parts. With food prices high, quality staffing challenging, and an economy teetering, I call this project audacious. Early signs are great and I look forward to returning in the future- perhaps for the great looking ricotta pancakes- as their chef has a bit of a magic touch for his food prep that he describes as refined yet approachable. I will be very curios to see how this venue progresses as work space is also offered.
