Sunset view from the rooftop
Tom R.

Rooftop bar with amazing city lights and views right in the center of Times Square. Bar 54 has stunning views, a great atmosphere, super friendly bartenders, and tons of creative specialty cocktails. What's not to love? The price. If you're looking for a bargain, this isn't the spot. To be expected given the location and those incredible skyline views. It's absolutely worth it just to take in the city from the 54th floor. One nice bonus is that you don't have to be staying at the Hyatt Centric to visit. Maybe I got lucky, but my bartender poured with a heavy hand, so I tipped with a heavy hand too. All in all, totally worth it for the experience, the views, and that true NYC rooftop vibe.

Who doesn't LOVE a rooftop bar!?! Bar 54 is probably the best spot for a rooftop, 1) for the views and the sunset and 2) there's no fee to access the roof, other than whatever you order to eat and drink. The staff is efficient with taking orders and refilling water. We started with Prosecco then moved onto to some cocktails, each of them were tasty and fresh! We had the cheese board and it was decent size and very tasty fresh! Would absolutely positively return to Bar 54 and stay at the Hyatt beneath again!!

An average bar that is carried by its amazing rooftop view. With it being the tallest in Times Square, you will have access to one of, if not the best rooftop views. The drinks are pricey and service is slow. The bar itself is somewhat small but the seating and arrangement is good. Would recommend for those staying at the Hyatt Centric Times Square, or those that can use credits for Resy - specifically Amex cardholders.

Rooftop bars are one of my favorite activities in a new city. I looked for one within walking distance of our hotel near Times Square, that took reservations, and had good reviews for the views. Reservations were easy, and while the glass barrier means you can't look straight down, the vibe is still worth it as a rooftop bar. A glass of champagne and a cocktail set us back approximately $67, including gratuity. There is supposedly a time limit to the table reservation, but we were not hurried at all by the waitstaff. It was a very relaxed time, and it was gorgeous outside in early October.

Chose this bar for the view and it didn't disappoint. The drinks were great and the pizza was also nice to share with a group. Our host was friendly and funny. Great experience!

The views were the highlight at Bar 54. We came just for drinks after dinner and were seated outside. Each cocktail was $25 each with automatic 20% gratuity added. I got Kiss the Sky and my friend got Echoes of the South. They were good drinks, just super pricey. Fun to check out and get some good pictures from a nice rooftop bar.

The views make this bar a stand out being the highest rooftop bar in Time Square. Attentive servers and good drinks. We also enjoyed dessert. Music was playing on the rooftop with a techno vibe. Last call came a little after 11:00. We headed out around 11:30.

The cocktails were delicious. The views were stunning. We were seated away from the amazing views and seats because we didn't have a reservation. We were staying in the hotel, but that didn't seem to matter. No one was seated in those seats while we were there. It was off putting. We weren't checked on frequently. Basically our orders were taken, drinks delivered and then we were asked for our room number for the bill.

Made a reservation and when we got there the host said "the company that makes reservations overbooks on purpose" so we didn't have a seat.

Ask the Community - Bar 54

Is the rooftop available to the public on NYE?

They got food here? Where's the menu?

Is there a dress code?

No.

Are reservations needed for the rooftop?

If you want to go during prime evening hours, yes, you need a reservation. If you go early, however, you can sometimes get a slot for the same night. We checked in at the host stand in the ground floor restaurant/bar/cafe and got a time slot within…

Is it possible to go inside being under 21 and do they card at the entrance? I just want to see the good view, don't want to drink anything

Yes, you can go in to see the view!

It was my first time there but I was expecting the menu I saw online, not this new one. We tried 2 drinks: one inspired by Turkish figs and one inspired by lemons and the "Miracle Berry", which inverts your palate and turns sour into sweet! I really enjoyed both drinks. The figs one came with a sweet fig granola bite and the lemon one really did taste sweet after eating the "Miracle Berry"! I'd definitely come back to try their many other drinks.

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. One the one hand I get it, on the other hand you've got two paying customers on a slow night.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. The interior was dimly lit, with a couple of candles per table or counter. It's a perfect place for a date night. And while there may be a wait on busier nights, it's always worth the wait. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. We chatted up a storm and he was able to create some drinks off the menu just for fun (on request). He also made my BF and me a couple of drinks to celebrate our anniversary too. Wonderful people and wonderful service. Needless to say, we will be back as frequently as we can!

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

As I walked in and saw just how swanky this place is I panicked - there was no way we could just walk in here without a reservation, right? But the hostess was, thankfully, so down to earth. I was straight up like hey I totally messed up and thought we could just walk in here, she was like you know what, let me see what we have. Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. They gave out a complimentary nut mix that was also delicious. Service was swift and gracious. If you're looking for a spot to impress a date, this is it.

There's also seating on the second floor, perfect for couples or small groups. I tried two of their cocktails when I went. The first was the Eastern Julep, a delicious twist on a classic. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. I had never been to…read moreEleven Madison Park before and wanted to check it out, not realizing at first that Clemente Bar is a separate concept from the restaurant. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
