Coming to Versa is ALWAYS a pleasure. Our vendor always reserves the rooftop and it's much appreciated. Walking through the restaurant, you'll see elegant lighting, comfortable seating, a large bar, and plenty of televisions. The service is top notch. Staff members constantly refilling food selections (cheeses, fruits, angus sliders, chicken tenders, to name a few). There is multiple seating locations throughout the rooftop (booths, chairs, high-top tables, and long sofas). The view is spectacular. From the Empire State Building to 7th Avenue, it's beautiful and only gets better as the evening progresses. Beautiful rooftop bar inside the Renaissance Hotel. I see why they are on the list of one of the best sports bar in Nyc. It's huge with plenty of seating and screens, even has a ping pong table. Came for a Sirius XM event and was thrilled to get in no problem. The rooftop has spectacular views and a good amount of seating. We really enjoyed our dinner which was reasonably priced. The drinks at the bars though were outrageously overpriced, served in plastic cups and with 20% gratuity automatically added on. Staff was all very nice. Bathrooms were in sore need of attention from the onset (5PM) and had degraded further by the time we left around 8PM...tissue paper on floors, toilets not flushed, soaking wet sink area, etc. Would most likely return, just not for drinks specifically at those prices. read more

The place looked beautiful on their website, but that's where the charm ended. When we requested drinks from the bartender, she responded with an attitude. We chose to overlook it. When we tried to order another round, we noticed our original bartender was absent, so we asked another staff member behind the bar for our drinks. He seemed annoyed; he leaned in to hear our order and then walked away, still visibly irritated. Several of us encountered similar attitudes throughout the night. We were puzzled as to why the staff seemed so annoyed; the venue wasn't busy, and we just wanted to have a good time before dinner. Versa is in the heart of midtown with beautiful city views! The night I came there was a live DJ to set the mood. Vibes were on 100, service was on a 100, but the food was just okay. Their menu had a little bit of everything but nothing that blew are socks away. I ordered the chicken bacon avocado wrap with truffle fries and my friends ordered the steak frites which looked really tasty! It's midtown so also expect prices to be hiked up. The event had a variety of different type of bar foods like mac and cheese bites, mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, etc. They were fine for bar food, nothing remarkable. The drinks are reasonably priced for a rooftop bar. The space itself is pretty big. There were multiple parties going on at the venue. There was another private party across the way. The view is a bit lacking compared to other rooftop bars as it's only a few floors up. I would be interested to see how the bar is during the summer given how spacious it is. Not only is the venue spacious there's multiple types of spaces. There's a bunch of tables for a dining area. A couple of areas for bars. And a couple of couch type areas for lounging. The host had an attitude asking us redundant questions implying we couldn't afford the restaurant even though it's an average price average type of food restaurant. We went to Versa for happy hour, and even though it was crowded due to March Madness, we managed to get a seat on the upper level. The upper level is still stunning with great seating and views of their lower rooftop and has an area for people to walk out and enjoy the nice spring weather. We enjoyed some appetizers, including truffle fries, nachos, and a margarita flatbread. You have to take the elevator up to the 5th floor EVENT - this is a usual Dolan party for those familiar AMBIANCE - for others the rooftop area is fairly large with an outdoor section and a covered section (in case it rains I suspect) The feel is very modern with a long bar for ordering and many tables. PEAK AT REAL MENU - not a lot of options at a glance and prices are up there SERVICE - for the event the bar tenders taking drink orders were efficient and fast. I recently attended an event at VERSA and was impressed with how well the staff managed to keep the attendees well-fed with passed hors d'oeuvres and hydrated at the busy bar. I did not try the food (was mostly fried or heavy items), so I cannot comment on it, but the bar offered a wide range of beers, seltzers, wines, and alcohols. My Casamigos and club soda was perfectly enjoyable. The balcony was not really a rooftop, as it was only 5 floors up, but the views were nice, and the patio was furnished with a variety of seating options - from high-top tables to couches. It was a comfortable and welcoming environment for sure. The indoor space seemed rather upscale, but also delightful. read more

Came here for a NYE party. At first I thought it was going to be super overcrowded judging by the line when we got there. It took my group a good hour to finally get through the front door. But once we were in, I was surprised how massive the venue is and that it was not as crowded as the line appeared to be. There's a nice rooftop area with heating lamps, although the view isn't the best. Nice place to hang out to catch some fresh air. Wasn't crowded because it was freezing outside, so putting on a nice alcohol coat will do. There were two bars: one by the entrance and one by the dance floor. The bartenders by the entrance knows how to make a solid drink. The ones by the dance floor not soo much, but makes sure you get your moneys worth with generous alcohol pours. We sat at a large long table that was a high top. This gave us a good view of the entire place and there were a good amount of TVs everywhere. We didn't have dinner there, but had lots of appetizers and they were all pretty good. The charcuterie is obviously and good shareable one, but I really enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip. It was not too heavy like some other places will make it and was filling. The beer selection here is good and so is the service. There was grapefruit on my dish and surprisingly it was perfect with the flavors! My palette is savory and salty but the butternut squash had a creamy coconutty flavor with a little citrus, the spinach was earthy and I went on and ordered the fluke although I tend to not always love flounder and it was incredible ! The refresher cocktail was amazing and the perfect balance. My date had a long island iced tea. The bartender was really friendly and accommodating. Food was surprisingly very good. I am muslim and don't eat pork so they were generous enough to remake the burrata bruschetta without the prosciutto. We also asked them to make vegetarian nachos, which they gladly improvised. The truffle fries were good, but could use a little bit more Parmesan cheese. Both the fish entrées were amazing. The puree On the Branzino was paired really well and the crispy brussels sprouts were delicious. My date ordered soy glazed salmon which was also delicious. My friend and I met here due to its convenient location to Penn Station. We really enjoyed it! I had heard they had a nice rooftop bar area, which is where we ate and drank. You get nice views and it's enclosed and heated in winter. I had a mezcal orange rosemary cocktail I really enjoyed and my friend enjoyed hers too. The brussel sprouts were pretty good, but the rest were very average. Our server was dropping things left and right - she spilled my drink, dropped my knife ON ME, etc. They kept forgetting items that we had ordered and at one point she stood 4 feet from our table arguing with another server about whether or not the calamari that didn't come yet was on our table already or not. My first time experiencing Versa was very satisfactory. On a Monday night, my colleague and I were lucky to snag a table because many people want to be there. It was only Monday yet a table outdoors was in demand. Their ambience merits 5 stars and beyond. An open air 5th floor rooftop, Versa is the perfect backdrop for dining with friends, a date, family gathering, grabbing a drink with colleagues and/or fill in the blank. The food was average at best. We shared the Ricotta Ravioli and the BBQ Chicken flatbread. I'd say the Raviolis was the better selection of the two It included 6 large ravioli with a chunky tomato sauce topped with dollops of ricotta. The flatbread was meh. It was BBQ chicken (which didn't even taste like BBQ) with cheese and sprinkled pomegranate seeds. It didnt quite resemble the BBQ flatbread according to the description on the menu. The menu stated caramelized onions and mushrooms which I didnt detect. The crust tasted odd and the overall flavors were bland. It was shareable for two since it included 6 slices. Service was attentive, staff was friendly, food average (at least our selections. You may be better off with a burger). But it was the atmosphere that won me over. I finally got back to VERSA again this time for dinner. It was still fairly new that first time, and now it is obvious the restaurant runs like a well oiled machine. Our dinners were an assortment of apps and menu items, and the overall experience was quite good, but I think there's still some room for even more improvement. We did not order any type of alcoholic beverages with our dinner. We instead asked for, and received, iced tea. This is not on the menu as a non-alcoholic option, and it should be. Our selections were okay. The queso appetizer was good, however the jalapeno slices in it were canned and flavorless, and the chips were slightly greasy. Our dinner selections came out reasonably quickly. I enjoyed my grilled shrimp Cobb salad, and the Norwegian salmon was cooked to perfection. I'm sure the waiter was trying to be helpful, but I don't really need instructions on how to eat the ingredients of a Cobb salad. The bathrooms continue to need to be maintained a little more frequently. VERSA is trying to be many things to many types of customers, with its lounge/bar area, its restaurant area, its terrace dining area, and the faux sports bar area. It's just weird trying to watch the staff homogenize all of these, but it does make for some really interesting people watching. read more

The Caesar salad was good, I added chicken, and my friend really enjoyed the French onion soup and risotto. We had no issues getting a reservation either.
