We LOVED the bar-b-que wagon. It is just off the main strip near the IGA in downtown Bryson City. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seating is on the water. So beautiful! The establishment is cash only so be prepared. My brisket was exceptional. The helpings were perfect. We each had some leftovers. The service was friendly. We tried to go back again on Monday (because it was that good) but they were closed. Definitely worth a stop!

**CASH ONLY** Amazing BBQ! I had the smoked turkey breast that was phenomenal. Sliced super thin which was a nice change compared to thicker slices that tend to be more dry. The Coleslaw was perfect, crispy with a great flavor. All of their house made sauces are delicious. This is cash only but they do have an atm on site. Great prices for the portions. Definitely a hidden gem.

Got to the restaurant @ 7:45. The sign said closing @ 8. I asked the hostess if it was ok to order. She said definitely. Ordered dinner to go. Got a beef sandwich with coleslaw, fries and added a cup of their baked beans. Hubby got the chopped pork sandwich with coleslaw and fries. Both sandwiches came with regular mild bbq sauce. The fries were fresh, hot and DELICIOUS! Absolutely no complaints from this place. I recommend to everyone whether you are passing through or staying in Bryson City to stop by, say hi to the awesome employees and grab yourself a bite to eat.

Second visit here and it's about the same....we got pork bbq sandwiches and fries with sweet tea. The pork was tasty and we used their mild sauce and it was pretty good. It's a small place but service was fast and the fries were hot.

We were looking for good barbecue on a recent joyride and we happened upon this GEM...the chopped pork was our favorite, the ribs were spectacular (the meat was falling off the bones), and the chicken was delicious! I hope to come back again!

Awesome service and a neat mountain atmosphere. The brisket was tasty, but kind of falling apart... The ribs still had their silver skin intact and kind of flavorless. The potato salad and the baked beans were my favorite of the entire meal. Probably pretty good for these parts... As I'm comparing this to real barbecue i.e. Texas...

The food is actually pretty good. We ate here twice. Brisket is really my jam and it's just okay at this restaurant... it definitely needs a sauce. The slaw is super delish, so were the fries and hush puppies. I'd probably rate it a solid 4 stars but the staff are really unfriendly and not at all welcoming. It's the kind of place where you feel you got in their way by coming in. There's some great seating outside by the river at picnic tables under gazebos... if the weather is nice, it's a great place to eat and enjoy the scenery.

Pork chop sandwich that's not actually a pork chop, fries, and cole slaw

Words of advice. DONT DO IT. Save your money and cook at home or go tubing. By far the worst restaurant I've ever been too and I've e been to a lot. For starters they only take cash, the pork chop sandwich isn't actually a pork chop it's chopped pork on a bun. The "pork" ribs tasted like road kill. Just horrible. To make things worst the staff wasn't that pleasant, not a smile in the building. DON'T SAY I DIDN'T TELL YOU SO.

Good barbecue and cole slaw. Onion rings were crispy outside and tender inside. Fast service.

Pretty good BBQ. The baked beans were really good. Surprisingly slow and everything is styrofoam/disposable which always bums me out.

The ribs were well-cooked, the portions were generous, and the service was great. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food arrived promptly. The mac and cheese, fries, and coleslaw were all enjoyable and complemented the meal well. That said, we're giving it 3 out of 5 stars. While the food was good, we felt the selection of sides was somewhat limited compared to other barbecue restaurants. Our biggest disappointment was the barbecue sauce. The sauces were very thin, and because of that, they didn't really cling to the ribs. We personally prefer a thicker, richer sauce that stays on the meat and adds more flavor with each bite. Despite those points, we still had a pleasant experience and can see why many people enjoy this spot. Good food, good service, and a solid barbecue stop if you're in the area.

There was plenty of meat in the sandwich. The mac & cheese was good but nothing to write home about. The sandwich came on toast. The bread wasn't "Texas toast". My past reviews include, Joes from Kansas City, The Shed from Mississippi, Big Bob Gibson's in Alabama along with another place that won awards, Blacks in Texas where BBQ began, other Texas places that said they were the best, 4 Rivers Smokehouse from the original location that was ranked 4th in the nation in Florida, bbq in Chattanooga and tons of other places which were ranked nationally and locally. Please read my other reviews. So we came here after helping someone that was stuck at long creek hike. So I found this place and asked my wife to go here. To my surprise, Jim's Smokin Que has won numerous awards. So we pulled up and the place was already humming. Cool shows the place is good in the middle of nowhere. We walked in and met Jolie. Very nice girl. Bubbly personality. She talked us into the chicken sausage which is her favorite. We also got 3 other meats of ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Jolie said the ribs are award winning and the pork and brisket are people's favorites. She also said the macaroni salad is also award winning and is different from a classic macaroni salad. Beans were very good as well as the collard greens. She then offered to give us samples of whatever we want. She gave us a sample of the collard greens which won my wife over. We then ordered the 4 meats with 2 sides. We got the ribs, brisket, pork and chicken sausage and got beans, collard greens and macaroni salad which we paid extra for. We then got our food. So here is where once you say you're award winning or something is the best where the feet hit the pavement. If this was a normal place and didn't have numerous articles about award winning I would give this place an overall 5 star but a 4.5 overall. However, due to it needing to be judged by their awards I have to be fair. The ribs were very good. Thick, 3 ribs, tasty and sweet. The pork was good, tasty but ran a little dry. The brisket was good however, again a little dry. The chicken sausage was good. Reminded me of like a Chicago sausage with the peppers and onions. The pork and brisket weren't dry where I needed water to drink after but wasn't moist as it should have been. The beans were really good. Sweet with pork and delicious. The collard greens were good. My wife loved them. The macaroni was my wife's favorite thing. The bbq sauces are homemade and thick. Very good. We then got to go another order of macaroni and the peanut butter chocolate pie. The chocolate pie was good. Very sweet. Not really a pie. More of a pudding. Overall, for it being an award winner, I think the pork and brisket lost points. Still very good overall. 4.25 I'd give it.
