This place is definitely a unique bar in the downtown area of Las Vegas. I wanted to come here because I wanted to try out a different variety of Japanese whiskey and learn more about it. This bar specializes in a variety of whiskey but also a great selection of Japanese whiskeys. I don't know of any other location in Las Vegas that has a vast selection of Japanese whiskeys. I started off with a high ball which is a pretty standard Japanese whiskey mixed drink. I wanted to try some Japanese whiskeys that I haven't had before so I went off of the server to give me some suggestions. They offered a great variety so I went with 4 of them and they were all pretty great. With the different in taste and smoothness from each one. The display and vibe is definitely a big more high end and something you wouldn't expect in a down area. The displays alone of the different types of whiskeys in the wall is pretty cool. The location is fairly lit and offers an intimate setting. It isn't too loud where you can't have a conversation and also provides a lot of space for a decent sized party. read more

There's something simple about this place, but that's what makes it special and what to me, makes it authentically Japanese. Japanese. Wasn't trying to be ostentatious, just tastefully simple and elegant, and I think that's what a Japanese bar should be. They should come at the very least have the staples, Japanese beer, sake, and a good whiskey selection and Bar Ginza had all of that. My buddy and I sat at the bar and each ordered a cocktail, him a Bee's Knees and a highball for me. Each cocktail was artfully made and came out tasting delicious. You can tell this place isn't really touristy but has more of a local, you have to know about it vibe. It's not big, and it wasn't really crowded, and the bartender seemed to know a lot of the patronage. Right before we left, the head chef from the restaurant next door came in to a warm welcome. We are absolutely phenomenal. Fine in the arts district. Cruising down the street to meet friends I saw we blacked out storefront with the words "Japanese whisky is my religion" and it called to me. In 1 million years, I never imagined that I would walk into a true Japanese style whiskey and cocktail bar, but that's exactly what I found here. The simple and natural setting allows the beauty of the bottle collection, cocktails, and spirit served here to shine. After noticing the large selection of whiskey from around the world, I was fixated on the idea of assembling a flight, and I was so pleased to see that they offer pores both in the half ounce and larger sizes so you can sample more without breaking the bank. As a connoisseur of sorts, I definitely picked out a few of my own, but happily left most of the decision-making to the bartender by providing a budget and a little background on my flavor preferences and whisky experience, and let them do the rest. Crown jewel out of the assembly had to be Chichibu red wine cask finish, followed by the single mile scotch whiskey Society pick that stayed true to form that the wild name that it was given of passion and love Friends enjoyed cocktails, and were absolutely floored by the complexity and balance. I couldn't get enough of the presentation which included thoughtful selections of course a fantastic aesthetic. It was great to learn the spot is run by partners both in business in life. By far, one of the absolute coolest bars I have ever been to. It was so cool to see the owners actually being the ones to run it, too. This bar is located in DTLV arts district and is in good company by the bars nearby. It's definitely a spot for whiskey drinkers for sure. We were greeted by a nice woman who found us a spot for us to enjoy even tho it was busy. We found out later she was one of the owners! I wish I got her name, because she was so nice and friendly and joked around with us and even put up with my husband making dumb jokes to her haha. She was also SOOO knowledgable when we asked her questions about what we should order and she was so patient with us. My friend and coworker is a huge whiskey guy, so he was geeking out about it the entire experience. Along the walls in a glass casing, he was pointing out all the rare Japanese whiskey. I found out that it was the owners' collective collection from years and years. SO COOL! I ordered the bee's knees which had gin in it, not whiskey, and even that was delicious. My husband got the old fashioned and said it was the best old fashioned he had ever had. My friend did a an entire whiskey flight tasting. super chill bar! family reccomendation but i thoroughly enjoyed my chuhai and was surprised since everything on the menu seemed pretty whiskey focused. the chuhai was refreshing and not incredibly sweet. my boyfriends highball was incredibly smokey, which was not to my personal taste but my other family liked it. service was decent, short and sweet. did not stay too long since the waitress asked if we were going to head out soon since we had been there maybe almost two hours and a line had been building up. read more

This place is so cool! I've gone out to Arts District twice and both times, Bar Ginza was a stop for us. I am not a whiskey connoisseur or anything but it's so cool that they have ALL kinds of Japanese whiskey here. For those of US that don't want to drink straight whiskey, they also have a cocktail menu. I love that the place is so ... chill. There's not much I can really say about this place since they run on their extensive whiskey list and do not serve any food. The bartender is always very friendly and knowledgeable. He's very attentive so you are covered at the bar! I haven't been when this place is bustling yet so not sure how it is when they are busy. Take a trip to Japan at Bar Ginza! This is one of the coolest bars in downtown. The entrance is just a very non-suspecting door, but as soon as you walk in it, transfers you into a whole new dimension where Japanese artwork and artifacts are displayed for everyone. They have three main TVs at the bar, all playing Japanese anime or kickboxing. The seating area is a small quaint 10 table space. They have a large variety of Japanese whiskeys and sake. Finally a Japanese inspired whiskey bar at the arts district of Vegas! Found out about this spot from a friend who posted on his socials and I couldn't be any happier to check it out! When we walked in, we were greeted right away and we decided to take a seat at the bar. My boyfriend and I were amazed with the selections of beer and whiskeys. If you're not a whiskey drinker, they also have other alternatives like gin, vodka, etc. if you ever had hitachino beers, they have em there! Along with the sake made from them as well. My boyfriend and I ordered a hitachino ipa to share. I got the Japanese old fashioned and he got the bourbon highball. The bartender told us they make the circular ice in house. Carving and all. Amazing detail to it. We saw the bartender pouring what it appeared to be tastings so we also both decided to order yamazaki 12 year .5oz and nikka aroma .5oz. AMAZING. We both decided that this is our go to spot every time we are at downtown. We loved the service and loved the selection of drinks. The prices were really good too. Great atmosphere. Highball - Gin Rickey is the first item on their cocktail menu, which is good for someone not interested in a syrupy sweet drink. Hence, the alcohol shines through. Paper Plane, by comparison, is full of flavor in favor of booze. Most of the cocktails are currenlty $15 each. The beer menu is composed entirely of imported craft beers from Japan, with Hitachino Nest being the main attraction. The beer prices currently range from $11 to $14 per bottle. The bar is well-lit with the aesthetic vibe of a sushi restaurant, although food is not served here. It was a full house during our visit on a First Friday. The bartenders and server are formally-dressed, and apparently of Japanese descent. This is culturally consistent with the samurai uniform in a display case at the back of the bar. read more

We decided to grab dinner and bar hop and we ended up hitting Bar Ginza twice in the same night. Why would you ever go to a bar twice in one night you may ask, well that is simple. Quality, quality and quality. The attention and care put into the preparation of the cocktails and what goes into them was stellar. The ice is shipped in from Japan and broke down by hand to the sizes needed. Not only did the cocktails have amazing Japanese ice the cocktails were expertly crafted by Joshua who knocked every cocktail out of the park. Lastly the selection of bourbon on and whiskeys was easily one of the best in Vegas and not only that but the cost for the pours was extremely reasonable. I want to preface this review with the fact that Bar Ginza is new and I want them to be successful. That being said, our experience was pretty subpar. We went in on a Friday night and they were about half full with one server and one bartender. Their menu is extremely basic cocktails, yet our drinks took almost 30 minutes to arrive. Again, one server and one bartender and they did get busier as we sat there. The server was lovely but gave us the basic cocktail menu with a spirit menu "on demand " I'm not sure if that's basic etiquette there or if we might not have looked like spirit experts, but we asked for the spirit menu and ordered a few of their options. Their cocktails were great, and the spirits are great. I think the concept is wonderful but I do hope they expand a bit in their cocktail options and add a server. read more

The OPEN sign was unlit, but the wee sandwich board beside the door proclaimed that Bar Ginza opened at 6pm; since it was almost 10pm, figured I'd try the door. Indeed, it was open, yay! Atmosphere: Snug, narrow, neutral-toned. Curved leather(ette?) booths and chairs, three TVs mounted over the bar, each on a different channel. Loads of bottles on display, protected by an armored samurai, complete with katana. Music was unobtrusive pop/classic songs. Was feeling rather unadventurous for a first visit, so ordered just an Echigo Stout ($12). The menu though looked pretty extensive. Value: In line with the area. Service: Very prompt from (according to the receipt) Cat H, who as the lone employee was a one-man army pulling bartender, server, and busser duties. read more

I will need to do more exploring here, for sure. We ended here for one last nightcap after a downtown jaunt. They have the single most impressive list of Japanese whiskeys I have ever seen along with a solid "regular" list of Scotch, bourbon and other spirits. The list is very extensive, but the team is happy to assist you in selecting the right one. It's a cozy, well designed space and run by a team who genuinely cares about the product and broadening folks' horizons. Well worth a visit if you enjoy spirits, but a MUST if you're a whiskey drinker/snob. read more

Their claim to fame is Japanese whiskey but they serve a assortment of craft cocktails made with various whiskey, a number of them not originating from Japan. I got a few cocktails recommended by the bartender, but the one I enjoyed the most was their old fashioned. It was strong yet smooth,, with the perfect amount of sweetness. I believe this bar's strong point is great value while serving a quality product. All of the beverages I ordered were reasonably priced, so it was easy to try their various offerings without breaking the bank.
