Stopped in here on a Friday night with some friends, we were craving a drink knew that bar Louie had good cocktails, the full signature cocktail menu had some very good options, but I ended up going with a Moscow Mule, we got pretzel bites for appetizers, a honey bacon pizza, which was new and delicious and the Nashville chicken sandwich. Food was fresh and tasted great. The drinks were also good but did take a little while to come out. I assume it was because they were fairly busy so it's understandable. Bless this poor girl who served our party of like 25 by herself. All the stars go to her! I wasn't particularly blown away by the beach bum I had as it was served after the a fellow coworker of mine that came in 10 or so minutes after I ordered and he received his drink before me. Even a couple other co workers realized that before I did. The appetizers were fine, again, nothing mouth watering or memorable. I partook of the buffalo chicken flatbread and truffle fries. I would describe the margarita as fruity and smooth. Then we ordered garlic and parmesean chicken wings and beef sliders. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I really enjoyed the garlic and parmesean sauce, lots of flavor but little heat. The beef sliders were overcooked and not juicy. The sliders came with a side of french fries and they were cooked perfectly, crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside and they were seasoned adequately. On Sunday, my husband and I wanted a light dinner and my aunt was joining us. My aunt eats early, so we went out early! There were a number of tables available on the patio and we found a nice one mostly in the shade. I've always thought the service was slow at this location and it was slow again. It wasn't busy at all and we still waited to place our order, to get our cocktails, etc. But the weather was nice and we were enjoying sitting outside and chatting. What a god-awful experience. After being seated at 2 PM, we got waters. I asked for lemon my friend asked for coffee. Neither appeared. It took 45 minutes for our food to be delivered. Her salmon sliders were hot and delicious, my Nashville hot chicken sandwich was over fried and cold. Both of our orders of tater tots were cold. Our waitress apologized 1000 times but did nothing except deliver a 38.76 check. I paid with a $50 bill and she said do you want change? I said yes. Not the friendliest place but as a big work group of almost 20 people, we were well accommodated on a Monday early evening. I probably wouldn't have chosen this spot for HH but I'm not from the area. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share and some ordered dinner. Our server was generally quick, receptive to requests, and we had no issues with her. The issue I did have was getting a glass with a very dirty slimy thing in my wine glass which put me off from wanting to drink wine for the rest of the night. I switched over to hard liquor and I fully blame Bar Louie for that change which caused a disruptive night that I was NOT looking forward to, especially on a Monday. The flatbread was good but the rest of the food was MEH. But that's Bar Louie for you. They're not renown for quality. Came here for happy hour (HH) and had a great time. My friend and I split the buffalo chicken flatbread, calamari, and salmon sliders. I would definitely reorder the flatbread and the salmon sliders on a return visit. They were so tasty! For drinks, I got Them Apples martini (ketel one, st germain, apple, kiwi, lemon, apple chip) and The Star martini (grey goose, passion fruit, pineapple, vanilla, lime, sidecar of bubbles - the sidecar is a small glass/shot of champagne on the side which you can sip with the drink or mix it). Both drinks had a flavorful profile and tasted soo good. My friend got the Diva martini and the Kiwi &T cocktail and loved them both as well. After the food and drinks we were full. The vibe was fun. The restaurant is nice. The bartender was definitely busy and worked really hard to keep up with orders and considering the load, i think he did pretty good. Everything came out in good timing. Just ate at Bar Louie. Big mistake! Have patronized the restaurant in Kansas City North on a number of occasions and had good experiences. My wife and I both ordered the BLT&A with fried chicken. Both salads were missing bacon and egg and one missing cheese. Fortunately the other had so much cheese, we just added some from the other. Waitress remarked she should have seen this. I would hope someone in the kitchen would have noticed also. On top of this, the chicken overcooked and tasted of older grease. The restaurant was not busy in the early evening. I understand why. My friend and I stopped by Bar Louie after having dinner at Babbo's so we could continue our conversation and have a cocktail. We both ordered grand lemon martinis and they were super sour but we made them better by pouring some of our ice water into them. I drank half of mine and my friend drank about a fourth of hers because she didn't like it. As mentioned in other reviews, the restaurant was mostly empty on Friday night at 8 o'clock and yet it took several minutes to get seated and then to get service. Our server loudly plunked down waters on our table and walked away saying she would help us in a minute. My friend lost someone very close to her only a few days ago, so we stayed about 2 hours talking. During that time our server kept interrupting us to ask if we were going to order something else. She even asked if we wanted another cocktail while our glasses were still mostly full... we both drove and wanted to savor just one drink each. We got the distinct impression she was not happy we weren't ordering food or more drinks. She never smiled and was pretty loud. I would understand if we were holding a table up for someone that needed it but the entire bar/restaurant was largely empty. We went for Happy Hour and sat outside. After a few minutes the server came by and gave us menus and asked to take our drink order. We asked about Happy Hour drink specials and were told all the wines were either $6 or $7. We ordered two glasses of wine and asked for water. A few minutes later we received our drinks, but still no water, we asked again and placed our food order. Food and water came later. Asked for silverware and napkins, those came a few minutes later. I ordered the Impossible Burger and Fries. It was just okay. Have had it in the past and it was better. Not sure what is going on at Bar Louie, they started to have staffing problems during Covid and I think they are still struggling. One other thing I want to mention. All the servers have iPads they use for ordering. When paying I was given the iPad to use to pay my bill. I noticed the suggested tip amounts seemed high, so I asked for a printed bill that I could review. I discovered that the suggested tip amounts: 18%, 20%, 22% were all based on the menu price before Happy Hour discounts. It was clearly stated on the printed receipt that they were basing suggested tips on prices before discounts, however, I would have never known that had I just gone ahead and checked out using the iPad. So mediocre service, meh food and lack of transparency during checkout....I'm surprised I gave them a 2 rating. read more

After reading the most recent reviews they're not wrong... It's disappointing because I really enjoyed dining here. As we walked in there were 2 hosts sitting "showing people to their tables". One pointed to a table and said we could sit there. We saw they had a limited menu but because they pointed to the table, and neither one of them got up to hand us the menu, we had to ask our server.
