Food is always great. Service is very good if they are not too busy. This place can get crazy busy. Try it when they are not on a wait for a table and you will have a wonderful experience. I drove 30 minutes to come here because their hours say that they were open till 3 AM on a Friday night. When I walked in the bouncer says that they are closed at 1 AM and I cannot come in. I pointed out the hours on the window and said "it says you're open till three" he said not tonight. This is how bars fail. Update #1: I posted this review immediately in the parking lot because I was so upset. When pulling out of the parking lot the bouncer was at the front door, so I roll down the window and said good luck on the negative yelp review. He continue to tell me that even though google hours and the hours on the window say that they're open till 3 AM, if you're here at 1 AM you may stay till 2 AM. Huh???? I guess the employees are making up their own hours. So if you're coming here on the weekends, be here by 1am, this allows you to stay until 2am but ignore the 3am hours that are posted. So after months of anticipation, we finally ventured into this 3-story masterpiece. We chose to sit outdoors on the third level. The person who checked us didn't even smile or greet us warmly. First impressions matter and she was not even friendly. Seemed like she didn't want to be at work. They sat us at the first table near the door. What a horrible spot. Everyone walks by as they are going up the stairs or being walked to their table. All the "too go" orders are right at table next to us. I felt like I was sitting at a fast food chain. There were booths empty but they sat us at this table. We tried to order a drink on the menu and they were out of the ingredients. It is very noisy and on this night the upstairs patio was not open. Food was ok they charged $2 extra to substitute a side Cesar salad for fries that came with burger. The wait staff was friendly. Food is good but some of the staff definitely give off a vibe that it's a privilege to be dining there! We have tried many times since they opened to go up to the third floor deck.....well every time it's closed!! I feel like it's just easier to keep it closed most of the time. After bar Louie moved to the new location, my boyfriend and I have had mixed experiences. It seemed like they were just getting the hang of things these last few months with training new staff, getting people acclimated to the new location, and dealing with COVID. We were also struggling with the intimacy of the new Louie. We had known a lot of the staff before they moved locations, and we don't anymore. My mom and I stopped in for an early lunch before shopping in the mall. It was my Mom's first time at a Bar Louie. There was almost no one inside, only one couple at the bar. A very friendly girl brought us to our table in the main area. Our waiter came to the table to bring us our menus and he looked half asleep. When we asked him questions he looked annoyed. Not impressed at all with his service. Everyone else was pretty friendly. He took our order- I ordered fish tacos and my mom got a sandwich with fries. Mom got an unsweetened ice tea and I got a coffee. My mom had to get up to find someone to refill her iced tea. He brought my coffee out with only 2 cream, no sugar and he didn't ask what I wanted with it. I just drank it with the 2 creams, but would have really preferred sugar-- he didn't stick around to ask if it was alright. The tacos were fabulous. I was completely stuffed. They were served fajita style, where I built my own. Moms sandwich was also tasty, and their fries were great! Just the right amount of salt. The food was great, the service was not. I came here with my parents. It's "alright". The atmosphere is pretty nice for the area. It's a chain, which I didn't realize at the time. I had a club sandwich which I had no problem with but was not the best I had ever had. My parents love the pear salad which did look delish and I was a bit sorry I hadn't ordered it. My main complaint is the following: The bar area is about 75% larger than the restaurant. At first I had no problem with this as we sat in a lush booth facing out so we could watch all the people come in and out. BUT ... I forgot that Indiana still allows smoking in bars. This is a beautiful bar and restaurant! It's massive, and seems like it would be a great place to host a big event with a group. We sat on the bar side, and ordered one of the most delicious cocktails I've ever had: the coconut mint lemonade. Holy, delicious!!! This is an amazing summer cocktail, and I totally aspire to make one like this at home. Also tried the strawberry lemonade sangria, which is delightful and summery as well. Food-wise we decided to share the apps, which I'm glad Samantha A suggested, because this menu is massive! There's certainly something here for everyone. I was skeptical about the salmon sliders, as I find salmon can just be awful if not done properly, but these were so adorable and tasty! The menu is huge so if you've never been there before... Scope it out online or plan on taking a minute to look it all over. There are classic options like burgers, wings, and spinach dip.... But there are also unique options like Ginger shrimp lettuce wraps and Seasame crusted Ahi Tuna steak sandwich. My go to order is the outrageously delicious veggie flatbread. It has the in house made spinach artichoke dip as a sauce topped with grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, balsamic onions, and cheese. I also love the chicken parmisan or blackened salmon sliders that come with bacon, pesto mayo (other toppings) AND FRIES. An app with a sandwich and fries?? Hello?!? Can I get a YUM?!? The staff is sweet, pretty, and always ready with suggestions if you're having trouble deciding. Plus there is always something going on there....DJs on the weekends... Martini night.... Half priced apps... one dollar burgers.... You have to come check it out! Oh-- fun fact: Bar Louie is locally owned and while it is part of a "chain" the way it's "owned and operated" is locally based and a little bit different than a typical bar Louie. The manager (mike-- who gives TOP NOTCH customer service) said all sauces are made in house and most all items are home made, hand breaded, freshly composed every day. Service was great but someone tell the kitchen manager aus jus calls for zero onions per serving not 6 tablespoons.

So, we went there and ordered the Bourbon BBQ burger without the cream cheese; but, of course, the server delivered the burger with the cream cheese. I informed staff and all they did was scrape off the cream cheese and serve me the exact same burger again. I know this because not only were the majority of the onion strings (those I'd eaten before realizing there was cream cheese on the original burger) missing from the "new" burger, but there was still cream cheese hiding in the burger (it had been scraped up into the underside of the burger). NOT acceptable. If I were allergic to something in the cream cheese, this would result in a lawsuit. This is horrible customer service in my opinion. Don't be cheap when you make a mistake. Fix it the right way and don't endanger lives. read more

A clean, well lighted, and and pleasant bar, with a decent menu and interesting cocktails. The skinny monitor and Rita are well done. However, it was better when it first opened and they had a weekend dj. Since that was jettisoned we think it's gradually declined ans become something less than chic; oftentimes approaching boring.
