My friend and I came here on a Thursday night for a celebration! We came a bit earlier than our reservation. We were directed to wait at the bar and given complimentary champagne. We didn't wait for long though before being seated. I loved the ambiance! The chairs are more like comfy couches, and the general vibe of the restaurant is quite nice. My friend and I got a drink each (from their house drinks menu). We also got the pistachio mozzarella as an appetizer, shared the red shrimp scampi, and got pistachio cake for dessert! Overall, it was an excellent meal. The scampi definitely stood out for us and was the star of the night. I would definitely come back just for the ambiance, but would also love to try other dishes :)

Just hanging out this evening with my friend and hubby. Bar Speezzatura Carlo, was amazing from the beginning to the end of my visit. Provided recommendation on drinks and shared desert drink for us. Server: Nelly, was great in recommending our meal and desert. Drink: Levitante Dinner: Guanciale Meatballs "Petted di Patricio" Oysters Chilled, Prosecco Mignonette, Pickled Apple Ahi Tuna Salsa verde, charred radicchio, swarnadwipa spice Little Gem Star route lettuce, brokaw avocado, cucumber laconi snap peas, soft eggs, pecorino di Fossa Bigoli Freschi Liberty duck ragu, orange, clove Pistachio Cake!!! The deco of place has an old fashion feel to it. Great choice of color along with color design. A must try!

The lady at the front desk was just barely friendly enough to qualify as customer service. The guys at the bar looked like they were counting down the minutes until their shift ended. The passionfruit mule was disappointing, it didn't really have any fruity flavor and leaned more on the bitter side. The Bigoli Freschi (duck ragu) was unfortunately a letdown. The sauce felt very heavy and didn't pair well with the minced duck, which had a strong organ-like flavor. I did enjoy the texture of the noodles though, they were nicely done. If you like ramen-style noodles, the Scampi alla Veneziana (shrimp scampi) might be more your thing. Personally, I didn't love the noodle texture, it was very slippery rather than doughy. The sauce had a nice seafood punch and the presentation was eye-catching, but the texture just didn't work for me. Overall, I wouldn't recommend coming here for the food, but it definitely has a great late-night drinking vibe

We went on Wednesday at 6 pm with my husband and daughter. The place is on the fancy side, but it didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of food and service. We ordered a selection of cicchetti (small Venetian-style bites similar to tapas, inspired by the tradition of Venice), including the forest floor, the polpo, and the broccoli one. Price-wise, they aren't cheap compared to Venice, but that's understandable given we live in San Francisco. My main issue was with the flavor. The polpo cicchetto was overwhelmed by mayonnaise and other toppings, making the octopus itself almost impossible to taste. The broccoli version mostly tasted of lemon. The mushroom one was better, though it felt more like a mousse than a traditional bite. On the positive side, the bigoli pasta was good, my husband really enjoyed it. They also offered a kids' menu with simple options like pasta with butter, but my daughter preferred eating from my husband's plate. As for drinks, my spritz was excellent. Service-wise, I wouldn't call it bad, but it felt a bit rushed.

Pleasantly surprised by both the food and the vibes at Bar Sprezzatura! We had a Friday evening reservation after visiting the Exploratorium, and it was the perfect spot to wind down. The décor is warm and inviting, the seating comfortable, and the service genuinely friendly. Bonus points for attentive staff, we never had to think about water refills. My husband and I started with cocktails and a selection of cicchetti (Venetian tapas). The Forest Floor was a standout: a beautiful array of fresh mushrooms atop porcini sformato, a savory mushroom custard that was light, airy, and perfect for spreading on crusty bread. We also ordered the Arancino, which, yes, is just one, but it more than makes up for it in size. Two orders of the Polpo followed, an octopus crostini topped with fresh herbs that was especially well-balanced. For our main, we split the Scampi alla Veneziana: plump shrimp in vino bianco with lemon and herb gremolata. Simple, bright, and well-executed. That said, this is definitely a splurge spot. Portions lean small, especially for the cicchetti, and the bill adds up quickly with cocktails. While we enjoyed everything and the quality was there, it's best suited for a special occasion or a planned night out rather than a casual bite.

Loved the lounge vibes at this restaurant. Super aesthetic inside and service was wonderful-our server went through the menu with food and drink recs and checked on us throughout the meal. Plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which was a pleasant surprise since usually the non-alcoholic drink list is very short. Can't really go wrong with any of the drinks. The shrimp scampi was by far the best dish of the night. It was super creamy and had so much shrimp in it. Portion size was pretty big. Only reason I have a 4/5 stars was how slowly the drinks and food came out. Our reservation was at 7pm on a Saturday and the drinks took a while, the appetizers came after, but our main entrees did not arrive until 9pm.

Service here is stunning and outstanding. Luis which is our bartender he was very nice and generous and made us a special cocktail which we will never forget because it was very tasty and he made it with love which is the secret ingredient to all the drinks that we try. . We got a dirty martini and a gin cocktail which was really good because it has out of flour and blood orange and it has a basil on top for garnish and it was purple and it was so fragrant. Also the gin cocktail was amazing and the food was very unique like I was drinking strawberry but it's not strawberry. The dirty martini was very strong and classic and can never go wrong with some blue cheese olives or regular olives of your choice. . They even surprised my friend after we told them that we were there for some birthday drinks and a Tiramisu was brought out with Grandma's recipe which came from Rome and it was amazing. One of the best Tiramisu and I keep on thinking about it now and I might have to just go back and get another one because it was that good. I am a sucker for tiramisu but not everyone has a good one for sure. . Overall I am so glad my friend brought me here and just not a place that you would think existed till you walk up a stairway. The inside is very classy so make sure you dress up and have a splash of pink because inside was very warm and color. I hope this helps and thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day.

Bar Sprezzatura is a great place to stop by for dinner! I stopped by with a friend before our comedy club night. It's cozy, and has nice plush chairs and great ambiance for dinner or drinks. We ordered the ahi tuna for appetizer, and the scampi pasta as well as the duck ragu. Everything was great! My friend also got an espresso martini and I opted for the Italian lemon soda. Both were great. Service was nice and attentive and servers were quick to come by to ask if we needed anything. Would definitely come back!

I thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful 9-Course meal, plus 3 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine. I was on a work trip, and being wined and dined, so thank gawd I didn't have to pay! Gorgeous modern Italian restaurant with very friendly staff all around. Most dishes were fantastic, a few were so so. Note: the Expresso Martinis are really delicious, and really strong on caffeine! ROASTED BEETS & RADICCHIO DI TREVISO $17 and LITTLE GEM & ASPARAGUS $18...both lovely unique and creative salads, large enough to share! HAWAIIAN BIG EYE TUNA CARPACCIO $23...SO GOOD! So fresh, delicate, smooth, and sensational. AGNOLOTTI ALLA RICOTTA E MORTADELLA $29...elevated ravioli with creamy fluffy ricotta, morel mushrooms, and other secret ingredients. NORTHERN HALIBUT $42...I hate eating flat fish because they so darn cute, but didn't want him going to waste. Thick chunks of whitefish, in a white creamy sauce that was rather tasteless, and it was chewy and overcooked, not light and flaky...might have been due to a big group dinner. MASAMI RANCH WAGYU STRIP $125...expensive and delicious! Tender, succulent, juicy, medium rare wagyu beef slices...so good! Great! But having eaten a lot of sub $100 steaks in my life, it's not worth it. LAMILL ESPRESSO TIRAMISÙ $12...a large mug of Tiramisu cream, didn't have any cake or cookie. BUDINO DI RISO VIALONE NANO $12...I hate rice pudding in general, but I didn't hate this one, so it must be good? PISTACIO CAKE and Gelato $15...lovely gelato! But the cake was a bit dry and bland. Portion is rather small for this price point.

    Lavender vanilla Italian soda

FYI NO HAPPY HOUR HERE! I thought I was going to get food and drinks at happy hour, but happy hour is only for nyc location. I ended up getting a lavender vanilla Italian soda. It was very tasty! The ice was the real star of the soda! I was blown away that it was in the shape of the transamerica!! This place is pricy, but the quality kind of reflects the price of drinks.

I felt like I needed to come here because some SF influencers I follow kept recommending it. I'm afraid they overhyped it--it was good, but service was lacking. I walked in and they told me I'd probably have to wait ~30 minutes. Okay. Fine. It's a buzzy new place and it's very Instagrammable and aesthetic, I can wait. But they didn't take my name or number--I felt like they didn't want me there or care about my business when I had to ask about putting my name down on the waitlist. Then, over 30 minutes past and we kept walking in to check. I think they got preoccupied with a large corporate event that rented out almost half of the restaurant. Located in 1 Maritime Plaza, it was slightly hard to find. My partner and a coworker walked and Ubered and they were like, "where is it?" I was all, "walk up the stairs." It didn't help that they were undergoing some renovations so the entrance was through an office building, not the usual entrance. Me and my coworker both ordered the Bagoli. My partner ordered the Agnolotti. We shared the Little Gem Salad and meatballs to start. She got the regular aperol spritz, and I got a honey dew spritz. We were amazed at the amount of different spritzes they had--it was actually kind-of intimidating. The bagoli was delicious--that part was not overhyped by some reviews. The agnolotti was also very good--warm, fresh, flavorful, quite a bit of meat. The meatballs were fine. I liked the large portion of salad we got. Overall, slightly pricey for the food compared to other comparable Italian restaurants. The seats are plush, the lighting decor looks cool. Not sure if I'll be back when I can get similarly good if not better drinks and pastas for slightly less.

Pretty dang good. The 7 of us shared many plates and each one was perfect! Pretty pricey

I hosted an after work farewell party for my manager here and they absolutely did not disappoint. I worked with Shannon and from the initial contact to the final payment, the service here was amazing. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking even. When you walk in, it feels like you've experienced a time warp into the 50's. The furniture, the lighting, the bar design. Amazing. They sectioned off a small area towards the back of the restaurant for our party of 40. We had one designated bartender and he was at the top of his game. He kept our drinks and our appetizers flowing for our entire reservation. No hand was empty. Now that is my type of "carrying on." It was the first time visiting for a lot of my colleagues and they were very impressed. I'll definitely be back again.

We are located at the base of One Maritime Plaza. From Clay Street you can walk up the stairs or take the escalator from within the ground floor lobby.

    Are small dogs aloud inside?

Unfortunately the building does not allow dogs inside. We are happy to serve guests with dogs on our heated patio.

    Are kids allowed?

Yes. Bar Sprezzaturra is both a bar and restaurant. Of course, Junior won't be permitted to belly up to the bar and enjoy the magical libations crafted by one of the best bar…

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Yes, we currently allow dogs on our patio. We ask that they are leashed and stay at your table. Thank you.
