    Prohibition old-fashioned!
    Jim M.

We tried Social Oak in Eagle on a Friday night for a night out. It's right next to Crave, which is always busy, so parking can be a bit of a challenge. We went early, before sunset, and I'll say this, the vibe feels very different in daylight. From the photos, it clearly transforms into something much more elegant at night. During the day it's more low-key, almost understated, which made some of the pricing feel a little harder to square in that moment. Yet they do have less expensive options. Service was excellent. Our server was fantastic, turns out she came from Coyne, one of our favorite spots in Eagle, and she did a great job walking us through the menu and the "Southern-inspired" concept. That said, the menu itself was a little confusing. It was described in a way that sounded like shareables, but then also like full entrees. I found myself unsure how to approach ordering, especially with the dry-aged steaks displayed up front. They look impressive, but I wasn't totally clear on how you actually order one. Food-wise, everything we had was very good. The jumbo tiger prawns to start were excellent. I had the Nashville hot chicken salad, really solid, and my wife had the eggplant tacos, which she enjoyed. Drinks were a highlight: the Prohibition Old Fashioned was great and came with a nice tableside presentation, and my wife loved the Outer Banks cocktail. One odd note: they have an extensive bourbon/whiskey selection (around 50), but only one vodka... Tito's. Not my favorite, so that felt like a miss for me. Seems like an easy fix to round that out a bit with a couple more options. We finished with churros, which were outstanding. The crowd skewed pretty young, seemed mostly 30-somethings. We and one other Gen X couple stood out a bit. It's definitely a trendy spot, and everything feels very intentional, which I appreciated. I'm just not entirely sure how the menu concept lands long-term. Overall, I'd recommend it, worth trying for sure. If I went again, I'd probably lean toward going after dark when the atmosphere matches the price point a bit more.

I was really impressed with my visit to Social Oak. The space is smaller than it looks in photos, but it's super well designed and still feels comfortable. We shared the fried deviled eggs, a burger, and a salad, and honestly I'd recommend all of them and would order them again. There weren't any vodka drinks on the cocktail menu, but our server suggested a great alternative that ended up being really good. Only thing to note is it's not really a place to hang out for a long time. We were in and out in about 45 minutes, which was totally fine for us, just depends on what kind of vibe you're going for.

We went on a date night to Social Oak very cool, nicely decorated restaurant, I think there's a tree in the middle! Server gave helpful recommendations as this was our first time at the restaurant. I did ask for a straw twice and never got one, but it wasn't the end of the world. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, they were good, the flash fried deviled eggs, also ok, we also had the lobster corndogs the ones cooked well were good, we had a couple that were overcooked too. Our main was a steak and it was delicious. Prices were a bit higher but we knew that before going. The couple next to us had burgers that looked really good.

I discovered Social Oak through Instagram and was really excited to try it out. I made a reservation for the day after their soft opening and ran into a few issues while booking, eventually landing on the first available evening slot at 9:45 PM. I arrived on time and was promptly greeted and seated, which I appreciated. The atmosphere was beautiful, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the concept of the restaurant and bar. That said, I felt a bit underwhelmed by the menu overall and found the prices slightly high for the offerings. I ordered two mixed drinks -- they were tasty, but nothing particularly memorable. I also ordered the crack chix sandwich, which was absolutely delicious and the highlight of my visit. It came out about 10 minutes after ordering, which was perfect since I was starving, and I would definitely order it again. As I was finishing up, I did feel a bit rushed, as it seemed like the staff was trying to close up and I may have been in the way, which took away slightly from the experience. That said, I understand they're newly opened, and I'm willing to give them another chance. I'll likely return for the chicken and to see how things settle once they've had more time to find their rhythm.

This is not a location for a group - I'd say 2-3 people max. We had a group of 6 and were sat at one of the tiniest tables. We grabbed a few shareables and went across the street for a full meal. Everything we ordered was delicious though!

Another amazing visit. Krystal was incredible. Her service level is world-class and a perfect ambassador for the Brand. Just really well done. Great good. Amazing drinks and just love the ambiance. Don't even get me started on the music. Perfect!!!!!

Im visiting from Texas and my good friend said the first place we need to go is Social Oak... I had such a great time there. Jackson and Krystal were amazing and made the time there well worth it. If you're ever in Eagle this is a must spot place!

Everything about this place was on point! The food, The atmosphere, and the service was outstanding! We started off with drinks at LALO next door and moved into Socal Oak with a larger group. They were so accommodating. The GF and I shared the kale salad which was amazing! And the BLT Crab. We definitely will be coming back!

Our server was AMAZING! I wish I would have gotten his name. He was younger with dark hair and dark eyes. He was extremely knowledgeable about the drinks and very accommodating with a few changes I wanted for my drink. He gave excellent recommendations after asking good questions. The booths were very cozy. The burger and Junebug were great. I did deduct one star because we ordered the Outer Banks which was supposed to come with citrus foam, which we were excited about. The drink came out without the couple inches of citrus foam (the drinks are small so if the details matter ) We were told the machine to create the foam was broken, but still charged full price for the drink when citrus was a main part of the drink. It would've been nice to know ahead of time before ordering the drink. Overall, it was a great experience.

Walking from the waiting area to the seating down that tunnel is pitch black. Both me and the wife were bumping into the walls. Maybe a little more light? Had to turn on cell phone light. Once you get into the restaurant it's better and your eyes start to adjust. The music was great and perfect for the scene, but too loud and needed to be turned down. Biggest complaint and it made me torn between 4 or 5 stars was something so small but annoying just the same. The wife and I ended up paying almost $150 bucks between drinks and food. I had requested this table so everything was smooth from calling in to getting in. My daughter and I arrived a little early to set up the table. We had flowers, party favors and decor we needed to set up. Our server helped us put the birthday cake in the fridge so it would stay cool. We got everything set up and just chilled till everyone showed up. I did forget the birthday candles I bought so I drove home to grab them. I missed the whole ordering process. I had my daughter order the pineapple hanger steak with no potatoes subbed for veggies for me. I left before they ordered and was only gone for about 25 minutes. My food had already been sitting for 10 minutes waiting for me before I got back. I was honestly surprised at how fast everything was prepared. I did enjoy my meal. It was really good. The hanger steak was tender and very savory. The shishito peppers were cooked and grilled perfectly. I got a total of 6 and only 1 of them was spicy, I'm ok with that! The asparagus was grilled to perfection. Not overly cooked but tender with a slight bite. The best way to have asparagus. I think this would have been a 5 star experience but this is where I'm so unhappy. I brought a cake in. I also brought in candles, a vintage cake plate and plates for us to eat the cake on. It was all planned out. Our server did not communicate with me at all about the cake once she pulled it out for me. One minute it was sitting in it's box on the servers table and the next minute there's a huge, tacky firework in it. Like, I had a pretty cake made with delicate candles to put in it to have this goofy firework in the middle of it. I didn't take one photo of the cake before she violated it with the stupid firework. If you plan on bringing in a cake that you don't want touch, tell your server. Food was great. The vibe was chill. But I will always have this stupid firework in the middle of my cake as a core memory of this joint.

It's a nice sports bar theme, but also welcoming and cozy. Once we sat down, a server came over immediately with menus. It seemed like she was the only server though, which made me feel badly for her...she never stopped moving the entire time we were there with taking orders, serving, refilling drinks, taking payments, etc. We had a party of four - I ordered the "Hail Mary" (2 patties, onion rings, bbq sauce, bacon, American cheese and pickles), hubby had the double steak burger and my friends ordered "The Big Hurt" and "Bullet Work". Bonus points for having multiple fries options (regular, garlic, French fry dippers and sweet potato), but unfortunately for me, they were out of sweet potato. Food came out relatively quickly and everything looked pretty delicious. My burger was bigger than I expected, which I appreciated. The onion ring was the perfect size for the patty and the drizzle of BBQ sauce was enough to flavor the burger without drowning it. The only downside was that the bacon wasn't crispy enough and the cheese was barely melted. The patties had some nice, crispy edges and the bun was soft even though it was toasted. It might have been bumped up a notch with some mayo on the bun, an extra slice of cheese and lettuce, but overall, it was a nice, very filling, burger. The fries were perfectly seasoned, slightly battered and the fry sauce was a great compliment. Everyone finished their meals and raved about how much they liked their burgers. Due to the one server taking care of so many tables, we didn't see her again until it was time for the check. Thankfully the water glasses were enormous and I luckily made it through dinner with just enough to drink. We would definitely visit again to check out all the great options on this menu!
