Waubeka, the town in which STG sits, was the birthplace of Flag Day and the dining room was adorned in red, white, and blue (or it could be for July 4th but who knows). Service was quick. I opted for the fried walleyed with the german potato salad. My better half was in a pizza mood. We started off cheese filled breadsticks aka Stony Sticks-they were solid. The pizza probably suffered from almost too much cheese but did the trick. The stand out being the walleye. It was extremely tasty. Perfectly fried with a light breading, it was heavenly. The german potato salad was a step away from my grandmother's and thats saying alot. At $18, it was a great value. It's a 25 min drive away and well worth it. We will be back.

For the size of the bar, I was impressed with their bourbon selection and all were fairly priced. Travels typically don't take me through Newburg but definitely a place to check out if you are out that way.

We hadn't interacted with her or done anything to provoke the situation. What made the experience especially disappointing was that the bartender acknowledged that this customer is a regular and that she has caused similar situations in the past. The bartender ultimately sided with her and asked us to leave instead. Throughout the interaction, the bartender was condescending and spoke down to us about a situation we did not start. We came to have a good time and were treated unfairly for someone else's behavior. Unfortunately, the way this was handled left a very negative impression, and I can't recommend a place that treats customers this way.

Both my older son and I thought this sounded amazing so we stopped in on a Friday night to try it. We both got fries for our side. The burger was great as expected. Breading and deep frying the lasagna helped prevent it from being a mess and they added enough marinara to give it flavor without overpowering anything. The fries were lightly salted, but were otherwise just boring, plain potato. Apparently 6pm on a Friday is a horrible time to visit Brazen Head Pub if you want to be seated in a reasonable timeframe. My son and I stood there for at least 20 minutes watching a table that was done eating and the gentleman and his credit card in hand, ready to pay if someone would ever stop and give him his bill. While this was going on, another couple at the bar finished their food and sat there for at least 10 minutes waiting for their check. It's almost as if the employees had no desire to turnover tables even with a line at the door including and behind us. There were three people bartending/waiting tables so they had plenty of coverage given the smaller size of the place. At one point, closer to the end of our meal, one of the bartenders looked at my son and I and asked "are you guys good?" as he was literally walking away from us and I was holding up an empty soda glass to show him I'd like a refill. Oddly, he gave me a thumbs up and kept going. I don't even know what to make of that other than poor service. The music that was playing was excessively loud. If it was a live band, I'd get it, that's part of the show and I wouldn't complain. For random music on speakers to drown out all conversations unless you're yelling, that's dumb.

My server/bartender was attentive and very welcoming. A solid selection of taps, cans/bottles and your standard offering of booze. They do have a menu of different old fashioneds for those inclined. Their menu is your standard pub options-appetizers, pizza, wings, burgers, sandwiches, and fish on Fridays. I opted for one of their daily specials-steak sandwich. I opted for the upgrade for the side of fries that came with and selected the pickle chips. I am glad I did as they are some of the best I have tasted in quite sometime. Thinly sliced, they were perfectly fried with a thin batter that didn't hide the flavor of the pickle. The sandwich also hit the mark-tender steak nestled between a ciabatta bun. It was great. Highly recommend checking out Sauer's-a solid pub with some great food.

We all liked our wings. I got boneless (which was strips of lightly breaded chicken breast) with Garlic Parmesan sauce. That sauce was fantastic! New to their menu is the option to get any of their sandwiches as a wrap. It's been a bit since we've been there on a Friday, but their Friday Night Fish Fry has always been great also. Great place to watch a game too. Servers are always so very friendly and attentive. Even on a busy night, you'll see them all tag teaming the tables to make sure everyone is taken care of.
