My boyfriend just left an appointment here. He went in for a beard shave, and came out with a haircut. It seems his barber told him he could bring the hair in on the sides to match the beard shave, and proceeded to give a full haircut to his hair that has been growing out for a year. The barber interpreted "nothing off the top" quite literally, bringing his entire back of head down to millimeters long, and leaving the "top" of his head as long as it was. Now having to consider another follow up haircut to fix what this one begun, when he was trying not to alter his hair in the first place. My barber just recently joined the team so I've got to preface my review with my own premeditated bias. Shoutouts to the homie Juan. The man delivers every single damn cut. I'm a loyal customer. Barba & Co isn't your exactly your typical barbershop. I came into this looking for a standalone shop. However, the shop itself is apart of a much larger building made up of other salons and barbershops. It's an interesting layout worth taking a stroll to observe. It reminds me of the show 'Silicon Valley' because the building felt like an incubator for hair styling creatives... Don't quote me, only those who've seen the show would know. It definitely took me by surprise. The shop is pretty small but they've made the best of the space they've been provided with. Two people, at most, can be serviced in one sitting so I'd highly recommend making an appointment. I'm glad the shop opens around 6 AM too so early birds like myself can swing by real early to start the day. Also, they do sell some hair products but all I saw was JS Sloane, V76 by Vaughn, and Reuzel. I believe they are still setting up their inventory for hair products but those brands are the only ones that I remember seeing. Oh yeah, where else could ya enjoy a cold brew while getting your hair cut? This shop right here.. Ya already know I couldn't say no. Whew! This place is fantastic! I have never been to a barbers before. I had a great time. They even have original Nintendo with classic games to play if you want. Jose helped me learn how to deal with my curls. He taught me two new ways. I have to say I've been to like fancy hair salons and whatnot but I always felt uncomfortable in them ( not my thing ). Came in today for my first cut with Barba. He definitely does not lie when he says his shop has an old school barbershop feel. He is truly focused on the relationship he build with people who walk into the shop. This definitely is different from many other shops I've been to. Let me start off by saying this. Where ever my boy Juan goes, I'm following him. For being so young, he's accomplished so much and has the right head on his shoulders. Juan ALWAYS takes care of his customers and delivers the finest cuts. He is a True Gentleman. As for the spot, it's a nice little place they have. Not too difficult to find. Just enter that main building where all the other salons are and look for room #17. Once I stepped foot in the room, I got a old school feel with a modern day twist to it. It was nice and clean. After being seated by Juan, first thing my eyes saw was a bottle of Liquor. You know this place is about taking care of their customers if you seen that laying around lol. I have been seeing Jose now for the past 3 months and he gives great haircuts. He recently moved into his own space which is very nice. He even offers a beverage from beer, water, to whiskey. What I really like about Jose is his attention to detail and great conversationalist. He doesn't rush the haircut and even said if he can't get the style I am going for in 2 visits, then he is not the right barber for me. I respect that he tells me that up front. Love everything about Barba and Co. The shop is always clean, stocked with drinks, and most importantly, an experienced barber. Jose does a great job keeping the art of barbering going. He offers a whole range of men's cut, from a deluxe towel shave to a basic cut. Uses quality clippers and products that have pleasant scents and always finishes off with a classic scalp massage. First off, Jose really knows his way with clippers to give a really good bald fade. However, that does not matter if you do not know how to cut the rest of your hair to compliment the fade. I came in for my appointment with my hair already fixed, hoping it would give Jose a visual of the way I style my hair. I specified I only wanted a LITTLE off the top to keep my pompadour look. I reiterated I did not want too much off the top that my hair spikes. To my disappointment, Jose told me he had cut a little more off the top to even it out, losing the ability to create the pompadour look I previously had. Jose can give good fades, but my experience shows he lacks the scissor skill and attention to detail everywhere else. read more

I spotted this place driving through the neighborhood, and I am a fan of supporting local businesses. I dropped the day after Xmas to see if I could get a walk-in haircut and was told that appointments were booked until late afternoon (4:45pm). The current customer's father handed me his cell phone to enable me to make an appointment online - pretty cool that he had the site up on his phone and was happy to let me book the appointment when his battery was at 28% (#batteryanxiety). I came back at the appointed time and had an excellent cut, hot towel, and quick massage - all very relaxing. The price is on the high-side of what I like to pay, but I have spent way more on a good dinner that only lasts until breakfast the next day, compared with 6-8 weeks until the next haircut is needed.
