Met a girlfriend for a quick bite and coffee - cute interior, nice menu, delish pastries. Would definitely try their chocolate croissant!

Definitely have to come back to try some of their teas!

Ever since Love Beans closed, my daughter and I have been searching for the perfect coffee shop for our coffee dates when she comes down to visit. I have a list of places to try, and this weekend we chose Barbarossa Coffee in Tomball off FM 2920. I live just off Kuykendahl so this one of the one on Gosling were about the same distance. I can't say anything about the shop on Gosling, as I haven't been, but I am so happy we chose the on in Tomball. First of all, and maybe most importantly, the baristas, Morgan and Julie, were amazing! I always like to ask for recommendations because each coffee shop does things differently. I started to order the chai, because that is my usual go-to. But they had overheard me talking about how I don't like my drinks to be too sweet. So they asked me some questions about my taste preferences and then suggested something I would normally not have even looked at. And it was PERFECT. *Hot pistachio latte sweetened with a little bit of honey in case anyone is wondering :)* We also got a warmed up blueberry scone - delicious- that was quickly devoured! I love the ambience, here. Its not huge by any means- but much more room than many coffee shops. There is a couch area, bar table seating and dining tables - which is where we spent well over an hour playing card games and laughing and generally just having a really good time. I know I need to visit the other coffee shops on my list. But I have no doubt that I will be back here.

Such a cute coffee shop that's down the street from our house and cozy vibes. All of the baked treats are calling out to you from the glass display and look scrumptious as well. The barista was sweet while we scanned the menu to decide what to order and she was really fast at making our drinks. My husband had the blueberry muffin and it was devoured almost immediately. Definitely a cute place to bring your laptop and get some work done. But plan accordingly because there's limited wall outlets from what I can tell.

I have been coming to Barbarossa for years now because they have the best coffee in Houston. The workers are always so nice, and I love the decorations inside! Food is also always been amazing. Highly recommend the captains latte.

Their pistachio cold brew is absolutely delicious! I love that they have pork alternative breakfast sandwiches so I'm not just eating an egg & cheese sandwich. Their croissants are so soft & buttery. The place is very quiet but there's plenty of seating.

Barbarossa is officially my new go to spot in Spring. The ambiance hits right away with those hunter green chairs and a clean, relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I tried the cinnamon roll, the spinach and cheese pastry, and the snickerdoodle latte. Every single thing was on point. The cinnamon roll was soft and warm, the pastry had great flavor, and the latte was smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was solid and the place just feels good to be in. If you want quality coffee and a place that looks great without trying too hard, this is it. Five stars

I have been looking forward to trying this coffee spot out and when errands took me to this side of town, I was excited to stop in. In all fairness, I didn't try any of the pastries that look delicious, but I did get the turkey sandwich. For $10 you get two slices of white bread, a slice of deli turkey, a melted Kraft single, a tomato spread (?), and a few pieces of lettuce. If this was a max of $6, I'd let it slide, but $10 in this market... give a real piece of cheese and a little bit more turkey.

Was in the area and needed some afternoon caffeine. Barbarossa popped up as my nearest option. It has a drive thru option and I was greeted by a friendly staff. She answered all my silly questions ( I was having FOMO and wanted to try everything) I settled for the snickerdoodle latte and San Sebastián cheesecake. OMG - I will now be traveling out of my way for the cheesecake. And the coffee was good too! I love this latest discovery.

Barbarossa Coffee Roasters in Tomball completely nails the local coffee shop vibe, offering a warm, cozy, and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and stay for hours.Their incredibly fresh, in-house roasted coffee, the absolute star of the menu is their phenomenal homemade cheesecake, which melts in your mouth and pairs perfectly with any of their specialty lattes. Whether you need a quiet corner to knock out some remote work or a comfortable spot to catch up with friends over a world-class dessert, this place is flawless. With fantastic service and an unbeatable ambiance, Barbarossa is an absolute must-visit!

$20 and 57 mins later... I'm a big fan of Barbarossa, but I'm extremely disappointed with how my coffee order was delivered through Uber Eats. There was no secure cover on the lid, my iced coffee was wide open when it arrived. When the driver handed it to me, his thumb was on the mouthpiece. When I called the store, the employee told me they had run out of secure tops. That's a serious food safety issue. If proper packaging isn't available, Barbarossa should temporarily disable delivery through Uber Eats. Sending out uncovered drinks is unacceptable and puts customers at risk. I expected better.

I like supporting local coffee roasters, small, quirky coffee shops and Barbarossa Coffee falls into this category. This is the second location I have visited which the service is consistently pleasant and the food options tasty. I wanted to try a different coffee option this time but the Pistachio Latte called my name yet again. If you look at their menu and see a small red coffee cup beside an item that means it is a local favorite. Last time, I left with a packet of Oasis whole bean, Medium Dark Roast with a mix of Blueberry-Almond-Chocolate notes and went straight to get my grind on. The flavor profile was mellow for a dark roast with not acidic aftertaste. They have other roasted coffee options for your liking in addition to Masterclasses such as making coffee with a Chemex pour-over. If you are trying to study or work with your laptop/tablet I scouted three electrical outlets, one to either side of the high seating area facing the entrance and the other between the couch spaces on the right hand side once you enter.

Barbarossa has been on my list of coffee shops to try for a while, and I finally made it in over the weekend (Saturday 7/26/25 at 9:45AM). The inside has a nice/relaxing ambiance and aesthetically pleasing. The staff stated the other location is bigger, but still plenty of seating (inside or outside) here. The barista at the register really sold the experience! I totally forgot her name but she was personable with a warm personality and a huge sense of humor. Her customer service was exceptional. Also, I really love how descriptive their signage was and being able to learn about their roasting methods/sourcing. The drinks are SO good! My only disappointment is the breakfast taco. The menu (at least the one at the cash register inside) doesn't specify that it comes with guacamole, and the taco didn't really have any pico de gallo. I initially thought they forgot the pico because I didn't see any but the staff said it's mixed in I guess. As far as drinks, I ordered the Honey & Milk Tea Latte and the Strawberry Cream Matcha Latte. Drinks are 10/10, I'll definitely be back and would recommend Barbarossa!

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

It'll make sense to buy in bulk and find friends/family who would want to split with you to save money. Location is in the middle of nowhere, but it makes sense since it's mostly a warehouse with a small reception area. Although you can purchase online, I like to browse in person and try whatever sample(s) they are offering that day. The bags they sell in the reception area are just some of their offerings. Check out their website for a complete list. The receptionist was kindly able to grab a small bag of the beans from the warehouse that I requested. The roasted beans that they offer oddly have the expiration date rather than roast date. This is surprising to me because the roast date dramatically affect the quality of espressos. For espressos, I recommend sticking with green beans and roasting yourself. They offer tasting classes for a fee, but not all the time. Check out their website for available class dates. Receptionist was very nice, helpful, and friendly. She was still very new at her role and was learning about coffee and beans from the beginning. Best of luck to her caffeinated journey!

That's exactly why this visit to the Spring location was so disappointing. When I first arrived, there was nobody at the register, which already set the tone for the visit. What should have been a quick stop then turned into over an hour. I ordered a smoothie and breakfast tacos, and even the smoothie took a while to come out. I finished the entire drink before my food even arrived. After about 30 minutes, I checked in with the staff and was told it was due to "miscommunication" and that someone was new, while the person who took my order was in the back on the phone. I had to repeat my order multiple times, specifically asking for no hot sauce and no salad. Despite that, after another 15 minutes, the tacos finally came out incorrect, with both hot sauce and a salad, and they were lukewarm, not hot. To make matters worse, the smoothie itself wasn't properly blended. What stood out most is that they weren't particularly busy, just a light morning crowd. I've been to the Tomball location when it was much busier, and the service there was still fast and attentive, which set a high expectation. Overall, the experience didn't match the premium pricing. I truly hope this location improves, but based on this visit, I wouldn't return to this one.
