Starting coming to Barbarossa about 4 months ago, the service was great and coffee/ food was good as well. Since then the service has slowly gone down hill, seems that they have replaced most of their staff, they are friendly still however I should not have to wait 5+ min to get a black coffee that is already brewed. I ordered a drip coffee excited about how it tasted since it was three dollars for a small size. When I finally tried it it taste like a bitter water that had no flavor whatsoever and make Starbucks look like it's quality coffee. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet and I'm kinda upset about it because I come here wayyyyy too much (but also no such thing as too much). You're not going to find a better coffee shop anywhere. Yes, I said it. This place has culture, a beautiful industrial yet cozy atmosphere, friendly and experienced baristas and the most incredible food menu you're going to find. There's so many different roasts and brewing methods to choose from and all the food (and bean roasting) is made in-house. They have Turkish coffee, Chemex (try it iced with the Colombian ), Siphon and I think aeropress as well but I can't quite remember, so don't quote me on that. Their espresso is the Anchor blend I believe and it's a wonderful traditional nutty chocolate flavor profile. It tastes more nuanced than most in this roast range and it is phenomenal in every kind of espresso drink they make. Cortado and Americano is my go-to but i recently tried it as an affogado and lord have mercy it was the most amazing thing I've ever tasted. I drive the 25 minutes here (and their other location in Spring) because it's just worth it for me. read more

LOVE, love, love the coffee! Always so smooth! I was a strict sugar and cream gal. But I can now appreciate, and sometimes even crave a well brewed black cup of coffee! The variety of beans is mind blowing, and every barista really has a desire to make your cup the best you have drank. I love the different coffee concoctions. So I decided to rock with Barbarossa Coffee. When I walked in it had that wonderful aroma of fresh coffee with welcoming decor. I was more in a brunch mood so I ordered the chicken Parmesan Panini and a tea. As you can see below the panini looked great but also took a LONG time. My date ordered a coffee which took EVEN LONGER. While waiting for our beverages, we noticed the floors hadn't been swept in a while. Crumbs and dust bunnies ran rampant under the tables and stools. The Panini had great flavor but was definitely dry due to the lack of sauce, great flavor and most chicken though. The waitress finally brought my date's coffee and it was iced instead of hot. After a few more minutes of waiting she received her hot coffee and asked about my tea. She said it was still steeping so we patiently waited while numerous other complained about the lengthy wait times as well. Finally my beverage arrived, it was a beautiful reddish pink color. What looked like a refreshing fruity drink was a dry liquid potpourri. Stay away from the Pome Tea. Other than that the experience was pretty average. I might be willing to try another location, but this wasn't the greatest experience. read more

I live right next to this little coffee shop and absolutely love it!! The staff is so friendly and accommodating and the coffee is great. There always seems to be tons of people flowing in and out of the shop, so it seems like a pretty popular coffee spot:) I come here all the time to just sit and study for breakfast, lunch, and even dinner sometimes and the atmosphere is super casual. They have a large selection of coffee and methods of making it, along with breakfast and brunch food. The ambiance is sleek, comfortable, and hipster. They have a drive-thru and all the employees I've talked to so far has been nice. They are a small company, so I'm happy to support them. I am vegan, and enjoy the couple of choices I have when coming here. They have several non-dairy milks including almond, soy, and coconut. I usually will get one of their smoothie bowls, which are already vegan. They have an avocado toast, but you have you remove several things from it to make it work. (aioli, butter on bread, parmesean crisps) The prices are steep, so I don't come here often. Today I got food and coffee for 2, and it was about $35. I got an americano, drip coffee, smoothie bowl, and 2 breakfast tacos. The only complaints I have are with the speed of service, I have only been to this location twice and each time took while. The first time I ordered there, then waited for the food to finish and it took about 35 minutes for 2 coffees, smoothie bowl, and waffles. The second time I ordered through GrubHub and my order was similar, and it took just over an hour from the time i ordered until the food was delivered. Overall I'd say good food, drinks are ok, just takes awhile to get your order! read more

I love their whole concept. You can choose different coffee beans, different ways to make your coffee. They also have tea. I had the pomberry and it was perfect. Not overly sweet, just the right flavor. Their food is also very yummy. Loved the chicken panini and the tomato goat cheese flatbread. The ambiance is so nice.
